I take pride only in two things:

I did okay majoring in Political Science and American Government in undergrad though. I graduated summa cum laude so I figure I must have learned something?

Law school also went alright I guess? I did somehow manage to get an article about the constitutionality and modification of excessive force laws through out the 50 states placed in a national publication. And I also managed to pass the Bar Exam.

¿A que sí? Right, isn’t that right? Isn’t you, aren’t you, won’t you? and similars

¿Para qué? What for, for what?

¿De qué se trata? What is it about?

¿En qué medida…? To what extent…?

¿Qué hay de malo? What’s wrong with (it)?

¿Qué hay? What’s up, what’s new?

¿Que qué? Say what again?

¿Qué se siente…? What does it feel like to…?

¿Qué tal todo? How’s everything going?

¿Qué tal? How’s it going, how are you?

¿Qué tiempo hace? How’s the weather?

¿Y qué? So what? 

hey everyone! long time no see! ive been hella busy with school and everything and havent really been able to post

but thanksgiving break is this week, meaning ill have an entire week to do absolutely nothing…

…so i decided to start learning hebrew!

heres my plan for the week:

learn about the hebrew language and how it is different from english

learn to write and pronounce the hebrew alphabet

hebrew duolingo (5 lessons)

monday

practice alphabet and pronunciation

learn 50 hebrew words/phrases (introductory/greeting vocab)

hebrew duolingo (10 lessons) + review

learn basic sentence structure

tuesday

review vocabulary, alphabet, pronunciation, and grammar

learn 50 hebrew words

duolingo (10 lessons) + review

pronouns and adjectives

wednesday

review vocab, pronunciation, and grammar

listening practice

learn 50 hebrew words

duolingo (10 lessons) + review

questions words and direct object pronouns

ik its a lot but ive been wanting to challenge myself

Qué

When in questions

Used to ask something in general, something we don’t know anything about. If the verb carries a preposition, the preposition goes before qué.

¿Qué es la biología? What is biology? 

¿Qué harás mañana? What will you do tomorrow?

¿De qué hablas? What are you talking about?

When in a sentence working as a question

There are no question marks but there’s the intention of a question. 

Me pregunto qué es un hobbit.  I wonder what a hobbit is. 

When in exclamations

Used as an expression of emotion, feeling or reaction. 

¡Qué mañana tan agradable!  What a nice morning! 

Cuál 

When in questions

Used to ask for an option between a list of similar possibilities. Both the speaker and the listener know about these possibilities, they expect them to be familiar. If the verb carries a preposition, the preposition goes before cuál.

¿Cuál es tu fruta favorita?  What/which is your favorite fruit?

¿Cuál es tu opinión?  What/Which is your opinion?

¿Cuál es el mío? Which one is mine?

¿De cuál hablas? Which one are you talking about?

¿Cuál es tu nombre? What is your name?

Note: ¿Qué es tu nombre? sounds off and translates as “what is ‘your name’” as in somebody who doesn’t know what names are.

Remember that cuáles is used for when using the plural, but qué never changes. Cuál/cuáles is also used in exclamations, but it is so rare that I think I will talk about that in another post. 

Check the difference 

¿Qué quieres hacer?¿Ir al cine o comer algo? What do you want to do? Go to the movies or eat something?
