Here’s an update to the AU! This is the official stuff so I probably won’t be changing things after this!

Akira’s Shadow represents his feelings of imprisonment. His shadow wears his velvet room prison outfit, along with the ball and chain around his ankle. He’s more beaten up and dirty in this, having dirt along his face and outfit. His palace is, obviously, a prison with cognitions of his parents acting as the wardens (because ya’ll can fight me Akira’s parents are shitty). Akira’s Shadow is very tired all the time, he’s sick of trying to fight for things he believes in because all it ends in is his failure. He’s very lazy, often just staying in his cell because, even though the door is open, he doesn’t want to lug around the massive ball and chain (That represents his anxieties and worries) that’s constantly with him

Ryuji’s Shadow represents his feelings of needing to be accepted. His shadow wears his gym uniform but it’s busted and ratty, having dirt and dried blood on it, along with a red leather collar around his neck with a chain hanging from it. His palace is a Colosseum where Ryuji fights hoards of shadows to impress the cognitions of the Phantom Thieves who simply watch him get hurt for their amusement. Ryuji’s shadow does practically anything to hopefully get accepted by the thieves, where he feels disconnected from the group. Ryuji’s Shadow is extremely eager for a fight, seeing it as a possibility to impress the thieves and hopefully get validation from them

Ann’s Shadow represents her need to never be sexualized again. She wears basic evil queen attire, with a long tattered black and red dress, tall pointed heels for stomping hoes, and carry a long staff with a crystal ball on the end. Her palace is a large “evil queen” castle, with knights in black at every entrance and servants around the castle. When in the palace the servants/shadows talk about how ugly the queen is and how ruthless she is. Which she is. Shadow Ann isn’t ugly at all, she looks exactly the same she does normally, but with magic she’s made her entire kingdom view her as unattractive so she can remain powerful over everyone without her body giving any sort of allure to her. She’s also ruthless as hell, willing to drop anyone for any reason at all. Even if it’s small. She has no compassion for anyone, after all that didn’t save Shiho now did it?

Yusuke’s Shadow represents his feelings of being lost in the world. His shadow looks like a ghost, with a long kimono on and burnt edges along the bottom of it, but his face is clean (and beautiful cause he’s a beautiful boy damn it). His palace is a labyrinth, with many dead ends which often show Madarame, students at Kosai, or random people that look like they’re on the streets who talk about Yusuke’s odd behavior. Like the way he talks, acts, and behaves. His shadow often acts very “dreamy” or “whistful” (is that a word??? Fuck it it is now), talking like he’s mostly asleep.

Makoto’s Shadow represents her feelings of wanting to break from the mold people have defined for herself. Her shadow dresses like a common japanese delinquent student, complete with long skirt, wooden sword, cigarette, and angry look. (aka your gay dreams I’m calling all ya’ll out) Her palace is Shujin Academy, but it’s filled with students who are Scared of Makoto. The whole school is falling apart because Makoto doesn’t want to do anything involving the school, she wants to do whatever she pleases and that’s what she does. Her Shadow is very easily angered and often results to threatening people with violence.

Futaba’s shadow is the same
