Lamp concept design! . This was done for our first school assignment. It was to create 2 pictures of a lamp with movable arm. I pushed myself to make it the best I can with pretty much only 3 weeks of experience with 3D-software. I'm very familiar with design and picture making process so that helped me a lot. 3D to me is just another tool in my toolbox. Also, I think limitations feed creativity. . I designed it on paper and constructed and rendered it in Autodesk Maya. I thought of it as a concept design. I wanted it to look cool and have a very practical vibe to it. It had to be sturdy yet very flexible. There are sensors next to the light bulb. When you hold your open hand under it for few seconds the light goes on/off. When you grap the air under the bulb the lamp follows your hand. You can adjust its position very easily that way. Lucian name comes from a latin word lux which means light. Light and lamp goes well together.
