-Summary: Yoon Jaehyuk thinks he's the first born omega to a powerful alpha family, and that is why he's portrayed a defect alpha to the world. But meeting a certain man under the code name Yoxi completely changes his world's perspective, and prompts him to find out things about himself that might set his life to a completely different course.
—
Born an omega to a powerful alpha family, Yoon Jaehyuk was presented to the world as a defect alpha to protect the family's image. A defect alpha was a rare kind of alpha that was born without visible wolf traits, and the world saw Jaehyuk as one of the very few that were born every year, while he was forced to take blockers since he was just a toddler to 'hide his omega traits' and make the story more believable.
Inferior to his older brother, who unlike him was born an alpha, and was the star of the family. Jaehyuk was just like a sticker attached to the family tree, like a disabled free-pass for the Yoons. He felt like he was a convenience rather than a member of the family, and the judgemental looks from strangers and people around was not the only thing always heavy on his mind.
His mother tried her best to show she cared for him no matter the unfortunate circumstance, but his father had more word and authority over her as his mated omega, and he was really looking at Jaehyuk like he was a mistake. An error in the system. A glitch that wasn't supposed to exist.
Of course Jaehyuk didn't enjoy living in his brother's shadow, it was like he either was a freak, or totally invisible, and there was no middle ground.
There was only one person who was willing to see beyond the picture everyone painted on him, and that was a certain omega named Park Jihoon. This omega was more confident than even some alphas Jaehyuk came into contact with, and his personality got a lot of people confused whether he was really an omega, or just an alpha masking. Jaehyuk didn't question him because he first-hand experienced the guy's heat. Jihoon was definitely an omega, just a very fierce one.
On the other hand Jihoon never saw Jaehyuk go into heat due to the amount of blockers he was forced to take by his family. He knew the guy was an omega behind the public image of a defect alpha, but he was judging him based on his personality rather than his secondary gender. He simply judged the guy not the way society was fixed on assessing and evaluating its individuals, but rather his own common sense. And there unfortunately weren't enough people like him in the world.
But even Park Jihoon had his moments.
It wasn't exactly a secret that due to his rather dominant nature as an omega he had a very hard time dating, so he visited a special club that offered services to those that preferred.. well, let's call it different kinds of dynamics.
Jaehyuk never judged Jihoon's choice, as he couldn't exactly say that he was dating himself, because he'd never been to a single date in his life. People were repulsed by the thought of dating a defect alpha, and not like he could tell anyone the truth, because both sounded like a horrible fate — dating as an alpha without traits, or dating as the first omega born to a family of a strong alpha lineage. He couldn't really tell what was worse of a scenario, but either way no alpha or omega was interested in him, and betas thought he was weird too, because dating a beta as a Yoon was maybe the worst of all the possibilities. Yoon alphas always dated omegas, and there wasn't a single beta in the whole lineage that had history centuries ago at this point.
Jihoon tried to persuade him to visit one of these clubs with him one day, but he kept refusing, because how desperate would he have to be? He hated his life, but he didn't strive for a partner. Not even a casual fling, which this club experience for sure would be. But no matter what Jihoon couldn't find a way to persuade him.
Until one day when Jaehyuk overheard his parents discussing something that seemed to be connected to him. An arranged marriage? No way in hell they were thinking of messing up his life even more than they already had. They were absolutely out of their mind.
He slipped past the door, trying to act like he hadn't heard anything, and he had to ground himself quickly to calm his racing heart.
The next day, he asked Jihoon to show him to one of the clubs. He didn't want to end up in an unhappy arranged marriage without having at least one exciting experience. It was a completely opposite thought of any way he'd ever though in before, but he was upset and hopeless.
Jihoon was surprised, but he was happy to show his friend the other world he liked to escape from reality to, after so long of him declining his offer. But he was thrilled that he came to him on his own rather than just agreeing with it to shut him up.
The only information Jaehyuk had when entering the establishment was that he was meeting a guy with the code name Yoxi, who was a controlled alpha with dominant tendencies, but a tender delicacy behind his every movement and touch. At least that's how Jihoon explained it to him.
He was a little nervous since it was the first time he was about to do something like this, and it probably was the only time he'd get to do it, because only God knew when his parents were planning to marry him off. Maybe they wanted to arrange a marriage for him to get rid of him to become another family's responsibility..
No time to think of negative things like that right now. He couldn't afford to fall into a spiral.
The pair walked up to the register. "Hi, Eunwoo, it's me Jihoon. I have a friend with me, I booked him with Yoxi since he was available for a new client. It should be in the book under 'Kevin'."
Eunwoo nodded, and looked into the system.
Jaehyuk felt a little relieved since Jihoon decided to keep some sort of privacy, after all it might be a scandal if the Yoon younger child was caught at a service house on a random Friday night.
A girl, he guessed she was probably barely legal, guided him to the back towards the private rooms, and she left him at a waiting hall of one of the rooms. The door had number 73, he remembered that as they were entering.
He was told to take his shoes off, and leave his jacket and bag in the hallway, then enter further in once he was ready to begin, but he shouldn't let the man wait too long since he had a certain time window booked with him if he understood the details correctly.
So once barefoot and only in his t-shirt, Jaehyuk slowly opened the door, his heart practically pounding in his throat.
He walked in, and he was met with a soft melody of a song playing in the background. The room was pretty spacious, definitely larger than he expected it to be, and it was pretty modern with a lot of dark motives. He didn't know what he was expecting of this, but he didn't quite have a lot of time to think, because the chair that was at the other end of the room turned, revealing a man sitting there.
This man had blonde hair parted in the middle, and icy blue eyes that were practically piercing a hole into him, he was probably wearing contacts because no way his natural eye colour could be so.. vibrantly blue.
He had a light makeup on, not to doll-up, but to enhance and sharpen his features, and to make him seem more intimidating. From waist up he was wearing nothing but a thin black robe, and he had acrylic nails with sharp points and a very shiny golden pattern on top of a dim black base.
He moved his hand on top of the desk that was in front of the chair, and he drummed his nails on the wooden surface. His ocean orbs looked Jaehyuk up-and-down like a hunter eyeing its prey, and he clicked his tongue.
"You're handsome. Too handsome for a helpless omega," spoke the guy, his voice not too pitchy, but also not too low. It didn't quite match the intimidating persona he was playing with there, it was soft at the edges, and powerful in a delicate way. Jaehyuk came back to Jihoon's description, and he was starting to think his friend was onto something there.
Maybe it was because of the colliding aspects of him being an omega on suppressants and being presented as a defect alpha to the world. He had to pretend to be an alpha even without the major traits of one, maybe that lie somehow etched in his features.
"I don't know if I should take that as a compliment, or not," spoke Jaehyuk finally, his voice steady enough to cover the inner turmoil that was bubbling inside him.
"Yes, and no. I was complimenting you on your beauty, but I also said that it doesn't quite match you, darling." Who was this guy calling darling, ha? He had a lot of nerve.
"You also don't match quite a few things," Jaehyuk muttered, and he looked away.
"Alright, omega, you're here for a reason.. a purpose, aren't you?" Yoxi taunted and he circled around the desk like a predator. He was of a similar height to Jaehyuk, and his sharp gaze was locked on his face like he was thinking of how to ruin the innocence of the beauty hidden in the lines and structures of his new client. For that Jaehyuk almost felt naked under that gaze, and he didn't even have to have his clothes off.
Jaehyuk gulped. "Yeah, I guess so." His voice came out unsure, a little shaky.
"I like confident omegas. Not overly confident, just ones that know what they want. You don't clearly know who you are, let alone what you want." This guy, whoever it was, saw right through him. Like through a clear glass panel despite the walls he'd built around himself. It's like they didn't exist at all to this man.
"Do you usually read people so easily like this?" he asked, his jaw clenching a bit.
Yoxi shook his head. "Not exactly. There's just something about you that I can't put my finger on. You're a very intriguing individual, what was your name? Kevin? Are you a foreigner? Or are you keeping your privacy just like me?" He raised his finger. "Wait, don't answer that, actually. I want you to keep your private information for yourself. I don't care who you are in your life outside these four walls. Here it's a different world, one that stays here. Whoever you are, here you are just Kevin."
Jaehyuk nodded.
"Come here," Yoxi prompted, pushing his chair back as he was sitting back in it right now, just so Jaehyuk could fit to sit on the table in front of him.
With a lump in his throat Jaehyuk did as he was told, and he was soon seated on the table in front of Yoxi, who was yet again eyeing him like his prey.
Yoxi's hands moved up Jaehyuk's thighs, in a way his thumbs rubbed his skin in a calming matter, because he saw how anxious the dude looked to be doing this, while he made sure to be careful of his long sharp nails. He was a complete stranger, and Jaehyuk was obviously new to this stuff. Whatever his secret story was behind the scenes, Yoxi wasn't there to judge.
Yoxi's hands slowly slipped under the other's shirt, caressing the heated skin underneath. It was silky smooth, and it erupted with goosebumps when his cool fingers made their contact with it.
Yoxi leaned to his ear to whisper. "Relax, Kevin. I'm not here to hurt you, but to make you feel good."
Jaehyuk swallowed hard, but nodded, and tried to relax into the alpha's touch.
It made Yoxi smile, and he continued roaming his hands on his soft skin, like it was sacred and should be be worshipped.
Jaehyuk felt strange, he'd never had anyone touch him like that, and the invisible trace of Yoxi's fingerprints was leaving tingles in the spots he'd touched.
It was awaking a strange urge in him, one that was telling him to pull the other in, grab hold of him, and roam his hands in return, but he didn't understand this urge. He feared the fact he just wanted to jump this poor alpha like he wasn't just an obedient omega being treated and told what to do. Maybe he really preferred similar dynamics to Jihoon, as an omega. He never expected that, but also he didn't think he'd get to explore them with this guy.
Yet, he didn't show any sign of discomfort, and he pushed back his thoughts to return to the moment of Yoxi's fingers dancing on his bare chest.
They didn't go too far, because first of all Yoxi took his time, and their session was time-limited, but Jaehyuk left the establishment confused, and painfully aware of how touch-starved he'd been all his life. His feelings were all over the place, and he knew for sure that this wasn't the last time he visited this godforsaken place.
—
The day he kissed Yoxi for the first time was their third session together, and it wasn't a slow, shy romantic kiss, it was rushed, bruising, desperate. They were devouring each other's mouths like they'd been starved, well in Jaehyuk's case he pretty much was, and their touch was basically a definition of the saying 'hands all over each other'. Of course Yoxi let Jaehyuk touch him too, and the feeling of Yoxi's smooth skin was literally addictive. The dynamics didn't change between them really, but it still felt good to have some kind of a control in the situation.
Jaehyuk kept coming back for more, because Yoxi was good, and it made the guy feel.. wanted in a way. It made him feel like he wasn't bound to be completely alone, and even if it wasn't personal, for him it was a great way to escape from the harsh reality.
But one day, after they were done with their nth session, Yoxi walked his by now a loyal client to the hallway of his room at the pleasure house, and watched him put on his shoes, and hang his coat over his shoulders.
"See you another time, Yoxi." His voice was honey-sweet, almost too affectionate for a casually professional relationship that was between the two of them, but Yoxi decided to ignore that thought.
"See you, Kevin." Yoxi smiled, and watched the guy take his leave, when he noticed something that had fallen off his not fully zipped bag as he was walking out the door.
"Hey! You dropped someth—" But Kevin had already gone. So, Yoxi crouched down to pick up the item, just to see it was a box of medicine, and upon reading the small letters under the name.. it was blocker medicine. Suppressants, but a different brand as he took. He suspected as such, that the guy was on blockers, there was nothing obvious about him pointing to the fact he was an omega, but it wasn't any omega blockers Yoxi would recognise.
No one knew it about him, but Yoxi wasn't an alpha. He was an omega on a strong dose of suppressants. Of course he had a story behind him, and why he had to hide that he wasn't an alpha, one of the reasons why he wore contacts, to seem more dominant and intimidating, just as his choice of clothes was perhaps more extravagant than necessary.
Yoxi had gone through so many brands of blockers, because a lot of them simply did not work on him, so of course he was surprised to see a brand he couldn't recognise.
And Kevin was out of his reach, because he knew nothing about the guy. So much for liking his and his clients' privacy, then these kinda situations wouldn't get so out of hand. Except the fact he'd never gotten into a situation like this before.
He quickly Googled the name of the blockers, just out of curiosity.
Supprin 250 mg
Classified as suppressants for individuals that show momentarily unwanted alpha traits
Yoxi was looking at the text like he'd seen a ghost for a second after reading those few words. Alpha traits. That's why he didn't recognise the brand.
But why would Kevin have alpha suppressants if he was an omega? It made no sense.. unless he was perhaps also pretending like Yoxi was?..
Putting that aside, he slipped the Supprin box into his pocket, and he walked up to the front desk.
"Cha Eunwoo, I need you to give me a copy of Kevin's details that are in the system," Yoxi said, his eyes practically piercing into Eunwoo's silky skin from behind the pair of contacts.
"Are you asking me to tell you one of your client's private information? What possessed you, and what did you do to Yoxi?" Eunwoo joked, and grinned at the deathly glare he'd been given for it.
"Unfortunately there is no personal information on Kevin. Since Park Jihoon dragged him along, all his information is written under Jihoon's name. The only notes I have on him are to call him Kevin, that he's an omega, and that he prefers you as his companion."
Aigo, thought Yoxi for himself. "Give me at least contact on Park Jihoon."
"What is so urgent you can't wait for Kevin's next visit?" Eunwoo asked, of course Yoxi's unusual behaviour sparked his curiosity.
"Private business," Yoxi muttered. He didn't have the nerves to deal with Eunwoo's annoying side right now.
"And here you go with your privacy again." Eunwoo grinned once more. "What, did you leave the poor guy pregnant?"
Another death glare from Yoxi.
"Okay, okay. I'm gonna stop. I'll give you the address Park Jihoon has attached in the system."
"Thank you, next time just don't waste my time, thanks."
Yoxi grabbed the paper with Jihoon's home address, and he put a face mask on, with a hoodie over his head to stay anonymous enough as he headed towards his motorbike that was parked at the lot behind the building.
He picked up his phone first, since curiosity was absolutely torturing his mind, and he put Park Jihoon's name into Google, followed by 'and people related to him'.
At first if showed the music star holding the same name as Jihoon Yoxi was looking for, but after a few articles he found one connected to a more known name in the industry. Yoon. One of the most powerful alpha families, of course Yoxi recognised the family.
He clicked on the article, just to see a paparazzi photo of Jihoon with a guy. The photo was titled 'the younger Yoon son, Yoon Jaehyuk, and his friend Park Jihoon spotted hanging out together'. Yoxi zoomed on the picture, to see the face of Jihoon's friend clearer.. and boom. There is was. Confirmed. Kevin was Yoon Jaehyuk. It just clicked to him that there was always something oddly familiar about Kevin, but now he realised it and even knew the reason why.
He put Jaehyuk's name in the Google search, and bam. The results piled in.
'the younger son of Yoon is a defect alpha, he presumably has no visible alpha traits'
'the Yoons faced an unfortunate situation: their younger son was born a defect alpha'
Defect alpha? They were rare, and they were never born to a strong bloodline like the Yoons were. Damn it. That's why Jaehyuk probably was forced to take blockers. Because there was something more behind it than just a 'defect alpha'. Something far more dangerous. Jaehyuk must not know the purpose of his blockers, he must think it's omega suppressants. This was so messy, and Yoxi had no idea whether to be glad he found out about this, or feel bad for letting the curiosity get the worst of him.
He needed to get to Jaehyuk quick. He needed to warn him.
The next moment he knew, he was riding his motorbike across Seoul streets.
Jihoon lived in a pretty average neighbourhood, not too expensive nor too poor, and it was a row of small, but cosy looking houses.
Yoxi parked in front of the number 147 just as the paper stated. But as he was setting his helmet on his bike, Jihoon himself appeared out of nowhere, probably just coming home from wherever he'd been to and he noticed Yoxi with a still covered face with the mask and his head with the hood on.
"Can I help you?" Jihoon asked, and Yoxi removed his mask for a moment just to show his face to him to see who he was dealing with.
"Yoxi? What are you doing here?"
"I need you to tell me where Kevin lives." Of course Yoxi had to say that name, he couldn't tell Jihoon he knew of his friend's real identity. This was between him and Jaehyuk.
"What? Why would you need to know that?"
"There's something I need to discuss with him. Something important," Yoxi replied, and the years of pretending to be an alpha definitely helped him to stay diplomatic.
"You can rely your message through me. I don't mind being a messenger."
"I need to meet with him personally. This is something I must speak to him directly about." Yoxi was almost like a stone wall opposite Jihoon.
"Can't it wait until he has the next appointment with you?" Jihoon asked further, still stubbornly refusing to tell Yoxi what he wanted to hear.
"Unfortunately no. This is an important matter."
Jihoon pursed his lips.
Yoxi understood why the guy was insisting on opposing him, he was just trying to protect his friend's identity. Because Jaehyuk lived two lives — one of a defect alpha for the crowds, and a wretched omega behind the closed doors. And Yoxi only got to know a few puzzle pieces of the second one.
Yoxi decided to confess, because what other option did he even have to find a way to meet Jaehyuk as soon as possible. "I know who your friend is, Jihoon. I got too curious and I Googled the connection between you two. So if that's your concern, it's nothing I wouldn't already know."
Jihoon decided not to tease Yoxi for the same thing Eunwoo had earlier due to the guy's seriousness that seemed very genuine. "But still, you can't just appear at the doorstep of their house."
"What else can I do?"
"I'll ask him to come over to my house. I'll let y'all talk in peace, no eavesdropping, I promise."
Yoxi grimaced at the choice of words 'talk in peace', but it was enough for him to accept that suggestion.
The pair moved inside the house, and Yoxi soon paced around while waiting for Jaehyuk to drop by. Jihoon felt stressed out second-hand from just watching the dude walk around so frantically.
Eventually Jaehyuk arrived, and when he saw Yoxi standing in the middle of the living room, he looked between the two of them in confusion. "What's happening here?"
Jihoon mouthed something towards Yoxi, and slowly slipped away to give them some privacy.
"You dropped something as you were leaving earlier today." Yoxi revealed the box of Supprin, and placed it into Jaehyuk's hand.
"Oh— I was thinking where I left them.. I was so anxious I lost them somewhere. Thanks," Jaehyuk muttered, clutching the box in his hand.
"You know.. I know a lot of suppressant brands, but I wasn't familiar with this one. I don't know what the beef in your family is, but are you aware of what kind of blockers these are?" Yoxi began, his still icy blue pupils staring at the other.
"Suppressants to hide my omega traits. I've been taking them since I was little."
Yoxi shook his head. "There's something you're not being told. What you're being given to take are alpha suppressants. They make you seem like a defect alpha in front of the world, while you believe you're an omega on blockers, but.."
Shock wrote in Jaehyuk's face. "How did you know—"
"That doesn't matter now. You have to stop taking them. Whether you like it or not, you're an alpha. There's something you're not being told by your parents. Something that made them disguise you to be the freak of their family. A while ago you vented to me that they want to sell you off to an arranged marriage. What if you showed up to them married to someone else already, while displaying your rightful traits? Marry me, and it'll be a mutual convenience."
"Marry you? First of all I'm not sure whether to believe you, and even if I somehow am an alpha, an alpha marrying another alpha is stupid."
"I'm not an alpha, Jaehyuk. I'm an omega." Yoxi pulled a box out of his bag, showing it to the other. Suprimol. He'd seen that brand before. Jihoon used to take those when his heat got too much. "I come from a very strict background. I'm supposed to marry an alpha of my parents' choice, and to be trapped in a cycle of a traditional marriage, where the omega is the true submissive. I learnt to pretend to have the high ground, and have control over everything. And marrying you, a powerful alpha of my choice could finally make them see that I am not just a useless piece of one's possession."
"So mutual convenience in a way."
Yoxi nodded. "Yeah, something like that."
There was a moment of silence between the two of them.
"Remember when I told you I like omegas that are confident, and then proceeded to tell you that you didn't even know who you were?" Jaehyuk nodded. "I think I had a gut feeling about you, and see how it proved right."
Another moment of silence.
"So, what now? Do we both just stop taking suppressants, and make it official at the office?" Jaehyuk bit his lip.
"I guess so.. do you have any other ideas?"
Jaehyuk shook his head. "Alright. Let's start.. with your name."
"Kanemoto Yoshinori."
The Kanemoto clan. Jaehyuk heard of it before. That was enough proof that he wasn't lying about his background. The clan was pretty famous for their strong beliefs.
"Yoon Jaehyuk."
They shook hands.
"This is so weird considering the fact that we made out like twenty times before," Jaehyuk muttered, and he couldn't miss the faint blush painted on Yoshi's cheeks.
"We can make it twenty-one if you want."
Jaehyuk smirked. "Are you flirting with me, Yoshi-ya?"
"Would you want me to flirt with you?" Yoshi teased back.
"Maybe if we're not in the middle of Jihoon's living room." Jaehyuk grimaced, and watched Yoshi grabbing his hand and pulling him somewhere. And that's the thing.. he didn't quite care where they were going. Because for the first time in forever he felt seen and wanted. And if it meant following this guy to the other end of the rainbow, he'd happily do it.
