i feel like people hate abstract art not because its “ugly” or “a thing a kid can make” but because all the well known abstract artists are pretentious assholes who think theyre soooooo galaxy brain for making bad art because it “challenges what art is” or some bullshit and we just hate their guts

okay so first of all i had NO IDEA that wasnt one of his works, it showed up as the first image in a google search so thanks for that correction! second of all holy shit i hate his legacy even more now? art snobs exploited this guys serious mental health issues and then later turned it into a story of how he “subverted art norms” and that so fucking gross. my original point still stands but ye i shouldve picked some actual shitty artist instead of this poor fellow
