So, I have not been very active lately, for which I apologize.

The reasons for my continuing non-presence are:

-Working on a new comic-book project, which is quite large for me, as I've never done anything like it before. Information on it can be found at: Tesseract Comics

-Preparing to move relatively soon! I will still be in the same city, just a few blocks from where I am now. Still, it's a bit of work to get settled.

-And also, thinking about art school and therefore creating a portfolio, taking classes, planning my time, etc.

Hi, I have not really been putting my art up, it's been insanity over here. So, have a small sketching: Half-hour-ish spent on my brother's ipad air mini small thing. This program is so beautiful~! such brush control,　いいわねえ〜!

Recent Culinary Adventures, Part IV:  Tacos of Triumph and Tastiness, Also Victory

chopped tomatoes

sliced avocado

pre-grated cheese mix, proof of a loving universe (or Co-op)

sauteed zucchini

there was chicken, I don't know what was done to it but it was yum

pan-heated refried pinto beans

browned onions

kalamata olives

corn tortillas 

Continuing the theme of Nopitty Nope Nope, we needed victory food. Tacos are awesome victory food, and also good for lunch.

Recent Culinary Adventures, Part III: Technically a Prequel? Jill Cooks Rather Many Things, Eats All of Them, Life is Good

So we needed encouragement in the Tulip house, because reasons. We will not discuss, moving on to: stress cooking FTW.

Awesome Salad, ingredients mostly from the Farmers' Market

red leaf lettuce

tomatoes

kalamata olives

goat cheese

balsamic vinegar

Crabby Dinner:

mushrooms and red quinoa

itty-bitty crab cakes from store, woohoo no effort. (Have soy in them, we learned later.)

Also featuring: Jill-made Tartar Sauce:

greek yogurt as a base

finely (read here "obsessively") chopped up sweet horseradish pickles and kosher dill pickles

fresh lemon juice to whatever consistency, yay

Recent Culinary Adventures, Part II: Clay Made Stuffed Squash in Retaliation

Cooked up an acorn squash that had been halved.

Fried up a pan of apples, onions, probably other stuff in there, heck if I know.

Added grated colby, monterey jack, & cheddar cheeses to stuffing.

Added craisins to cheesy stuffing. (I would have plumped them a bit, but it was good this way too. Also we were hungry.)

Stuffed the squash, reheated a bit for consistency.

Recent Culinary Adventures, Part I: Probably Over-Stuffed Tomatoes

Scooped out tomatoes, baked with olive oil.

Cooked up red quinoa with mushrooms.

Browned onions and garlic, and added them into quinoa.

Stuffed tomatoes.

Goat cheese was suggested as a topping, so it happened.

I used to wonder

if other people's houses were the same as mine or just hiding their endless sad sad ways in cupboards and suitcases smelling of old and unwanted and forgotten the way I hid broken bottles of acorns and needles and rust and never asked why other people's houses always loomed large in my child's eye questing for shelter that wasn't for hiding but for living actual houses  my own and others never seemed as wonderful as other people's houses the ones built with sturdy hands from oak trees and tapestry and metal the ones I will always believe are only around the corner from my house from this cupboard this suitcase this pillow this bed if only I wake up and walk  down the street

Mostly if I take pictures of my food, it's so I'll remember to actually eat and not because I'm into showing you what I eat. But if it's pretty, why not put it on my art site?

I could get an instagram, I suppose. But until then, my snazzy cooking can go here.

Doodle for a friend I am writing to.

Eye hand. Onyx ink pen on index card, took a few hours.

So, guess who has not been posting recently? Have some pastel-y experiments instead of Friday 'selfies'. I love Nu Pastels, but "Flesh pink (rose chair)" or "Buff" is not really acceptable for a color name when that color is the lightest one you see here. Not cool, Prismacolor! I put the item number on the captions instead of the color name. Top is from art class, with a model; part one of a triptych assignment. Bottom two are very, very loosely based on internet photos of flappers (of all things). Sorry for the watermarks but I am slightly paranoid and all.

This is such a crap image, 　ごめんね．．．けいたいのカメラはだめね～。 Sleepy enough to be thinking in non-language again. Anyway, bought new paper assortment of artist trading cards and a few new pens to try out. Gosh, so exciting. Have a Sandman's Death in poor quality etching style.
