as this account is saw themed, horror themes are allowed, but please still refer to the fandom list!!! there will always be warnings at the top of horror related or "unsafe" boards!!

hello!!! so youre kinda right!! stimboards are supposed to be aesthetically pleasing (most of the time)!!

"stimming" is the repetition of physical movements, sounds, words, or other behaviors. It can be a way for people to cope with emotions, regulate sensory input, or gain sensory stimulation!! in this case, stimboards are a way to visually stim.

many gifs playing together that have a cohesive theme (esp if they relate to someones interests) are calming for many people!!! its worth noting that stimboards were created by and for autistic people, but anyone can enjoy them :)

for me personally, watching/making stimboards is a coping mechanism for me and it helps calm me down! its also another way for me to indulge in my special interests or hyperfixations as an autistic person :3

in short, stimboards are mood boards made of gifs and are used for visual stimming!!
