christianity teaches you that if you suffer enough you will be forgiven of everything but the suffering never revolves around getting better in any capacity because "everybody sins". they teach u redemption comes from guilt instead of amends. and its easy enough to unlearn never improving but its much harder to unlearn that if you dont feel like shit all the time ur a terrible person. not believing in god anymore is hard because no one else will forgive you for everything and anything, so theres nowhere to put these feelings.

the idea of original sin is so crazy bc wdym you are evil just for being alive. you are responsible for things you have no control over just because you have the misfortune of being human.
