“Wait you’re still using the exact same fucking thing 50,000 years later???”

“Well, yeah. We’ve tried other things. Metal scratches up and damages the hide. Wood splinters and wears out. Bone lasts forever and gives the best polish. There are new, cheaper plastic ones, but they crack and break after a couple years. A bone polisher is nearly indestructible, and only gets better with age. The more you use a bone polisher the better it works.”

It’s just. 

So ancient Roman statues have some really weird hairstyles. Archaeologists just couldn’t figure them out. They didn’t have hairspray or modern hair bands, or elastic at all, but some of these things defied gravity better than Marge Simpson’s beehive.

Eventually they decided, wigs. Must be wigs. Or maybe hats. Definitely not real hair.

A hairdresser comes a long, looks at a few and is like, “Yeah, they’re sewn.”

“Don’t be silly!” the archaeologists cry. “How foolish, sewn hair indeed! LOL!”

So she went away and recreated them on real people using a needle and thread and the mystery of Roman hairstyles was solved.

1- I sometimes don’t talk for long periods of time just because I don’t feel like it.

2- I am dramatic. Way too much. Quite a lot.

1.) I'm extremely blunt and to the point. Some people online and in real life hate that and get offended or say I'm rude even when I'm not.

2.) The only emotion I outwardly express is happiness, whether its feigned or not. I'll never cry in front of anyone, and its rare that I do anyway.

3.) I search out details and will overanalyze everything until it cant be analyzed anymore...and yet still delve deeper. Because its invigorating!

4.) I'm a wonderful thinker but a terrible speaker.

5.) Sometimes I make so much sense to myself when connecting dots that I actually come off as stupid to other people who don't get what I'm talking about. Its quite ironic.

6.) I love being alone but I get so lonely that I hate it. Which really makes no sense.

7.) Sometimes I swear I have some sort of sixth sense because I can connect dots as to what may happen in the near future and most the time im right.

8.) I work with the police (and both my parents are police; my dad is a Sgt Detective, kinda like Lestrade), and I've always been into detective books and shows such as Nancy Drew and Sherlock.

9.) Despite being blunt and thinking the general public is more or less pretty idiotic, I'm also very shy and will sometimes do things just to please people so they'll stop talking. (My character mix is showing here)

10.) When I get annoyed, I get VERY annoyed and a bit restless. There have been instances where I've stepped on furniture or told my aunt to literally please just shut up because I can't handle her talking at the moment.

1) I am a cat person

2) I’m a one man woman - if I fall I fall hard and am 100% loyal (my husband will be pleased to know haha)

3) I’m really good at putting a happy face on even when I’m dying inside

The 12 Days of Sherlolly are back!

Welcome to The 12 Days of Sherlolly.  From December 26th to January 6th, we will be showcasing your winter or Christmas themed Sherlolly fic and art.

Will our favorite couple cuddle together in front of a roaring fire at 221B?  Are there snowball fights in Mummy and Daddy Holmes’ garden?  Will someone be visited by the Ghost of Christmas Future?

Has someone stepped under the mistletoe?  An unexpected blizzard?  Cuddling to stay warm?  Silly, sweet, or smutty—the Fest is open to it all.

Works can be any rating, any length, any genre, and any medium (art, fic, knitted dolls, videos, etc). However, they must be a Sherlolly work with a Christmas or winter theme.  

We will open posting on the 12 Days of Sherlolly collection at Ao3 on December 26th and close it at midnight on January 6th.  Authors/artists will be welcome to post their works to the community at any time while it is open. Any works added to the collection will also be shared and featured on the @holidaysat221b tumblr during that period.

This scene and this speech are coming to define my week - and I am very happy about that 😜❤️

The gist of that scene (as we’ve all ranted about before lol) was absolutely romantic love. All the tests at Sherrinford were emotional and involved the lives of people around Sherlock, but this one was very specific. It’s not about basic human compassion, because that was already dealt with. It’s not about friendly and familial affection, because that was dealt with separately as well. It’s like all the different types of love were covered in those varying scenes…and Molly’s scene covered romance. There’s no two ways about it.
