'Holmes and Watson visit Blarney Castle. They learn about the dangerous tradition of kissing the Blarney Stone' & then we'll watch an episode of the 1968 series 'The Boscombe Valley Mystery' 'James' girl-friend approaches Holmes, who discovers that Bill's dying words were nothing to do with "a rat" but concerned with the days of the Australian Gold Rush.'

On 2nd Aug we're going 'Sherlock adjacent on Holifay' with two Arthur Conan Doyle videos. First up we'll be going on a train journey vacation and watching the first installment of 'The Lost Special' from 1932. 'A special train carrying gold bullion is hijacked. The bandits take the train off the main line, hide it in an abandoned mine shaft and steal the gold, leaving a mystery in their wake.'

& then we'll watch episode five of the 1999 series 'The Lost World'- 'Cave Of Fear'. Challenger, Malone and Veronica are searching for sulfur, when they walk into a burial ground they are attacked by warriors in black and white paint!

On 14th June we’ll watch three Versions of 'The man with the Twisted Lip'. First up is: Sherlock Holmes: The Man Who Disappeared a 1951 British TVfilm starring John Longden as Sherlock. It was the first British attempt to create a Sherlock Holmes television series. Then we'll skip a few years to listen to the American radio series The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, from 6 may 1946, starring Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce (Sponsored by Petri Wine.) & Lastly a BIg jump forwards to watch an episode of the animated television series Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century. We'll see how they compare & contrast to each other (And to the original story!)

On 24th May we’ll watch part five of 'Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes'; 'The White Knight Strategem'. The series stars Ian Richardson as Dr Joseph Bell. Bell helps the police to investigate the murder of a moneylender, but an old animosity between him and the officer in charge leads to conflict. Matters become worse when Doyle sees merit in the lieutenant's theories rather than in Bell's.

On 17th May we’ll watch part four of 'Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes'; 'The Kingdom of Bones. The series stars Ian Richardson as Dr Joseph Bell, alongside Robin Laing as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. A museum curator hires Bell and Doyle to unwrap an Egyptian mummy, but they are surprised to discover that the body is that of a man who has been dead for only three weeks. The subsequent investigation uncovers a group of expatriate rebels plotting to create havoc..

On 10th May we’ll watch part two of 'Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes'; 'The Patient's Eyes'. The series stars Ian Richardson as Dr Joseph Bell. Doyle and Bell investigate the case of a woman who believes that she is being followed by an apparition of the man who killed her parents some years before, but Bell assures her that the killer was hanged many years ago and that there has to be another explanation.re.

On 3rd May we’ll watch episode one of 'Murder Rooms: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes'; 'Dr Bell & Mr Doyle'. The series stars Ian Richardson as Dr Joseph Bell, alongside Robin Laing as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Following the "death" of Sherlock Holmes Doyle finds himself reflecting on his friendship with Dr Joseph Bell, as well as his long-ago romance with a fellow student, Elspeth Scott, the victim of a killer whom he and Bell failed to capture.
