I always thought that, after the reveal, a situation where, instead of Fenton becoming cool, phantom becomes lame, would be funny

Some thought process under the cut!

✧ Broken ribs suck. You don’t just “walk it off.” Breathing hurts. Laughing hurts. Existing hurts. Characters with rib injuries won’t be doing heroic sprints.

✧ Concussions aren’t instant naps. Dazed vision, nausea, dizziness, maybe even personality changes, but they’re not going to collapse neatly like in the movies.

✧ Blood loss is sneaky. It’s not just about dramatic pools of blood. It’s dizziness, confusion, and the body getting cold as circulation tanks.

✧ Adrenaline lies. Someone can take a serious injury and not feel it until the fight’s over. That “I didn’t realize I was bleeding until later” trope? Very real.

✧ Twisted ankles are brutal. One bad step and suddenly running is off the table. Even walking hurts like hell. Perfect way to ground a chase scene.

✧ Burns linger. Even small burns hurt more than most people expect. Blisters, infection risk, constant pain, it’s not just a cool scar later.

✧ Dislocated shoulders = useless arm. Characters can’t keep swinging a sword or firing a gun. They’re basically fighting one-armed until it’s fixed.

✧ Shock is a thing. Pale skin, trembling, rapid heartbeat, and eventually disorientation. A character might not even realize how bad their wound is.

✧ Stitches aren’t magic. Getting sewn up is painful and recovery takes time. They’re not instantly battle-ready after a needle and thread.

Some disclaimers: this is loosely based on canon at best, this is my interpretation of various versions of the same plotline over various forms of media, and I haven't read every single Red Hood appearance so if I miss anything my bad!! Anyways, here's my timeline:

Age 8: Willis Todd is arrested and convicted

Age 10: Catherine Todd od's and passes away. Jason is sent to a boy's home then ends up on the street.

Age 12: Jason tries to steal the wheels of the Batmobile, tries to hit Batman with a tire iron, and is adopted thereafter.

Age 15: The events of the killing joke transpire. Robin tracks a lead to the outskirts of Gotham where Jason is abducted and subsequently dies at the hand of the Joker. Talia finds out and tries to correct the situation via Lazarus Pit dues ex machina. I like what Justice League Dark: Apokolips War added to the Lazarus Pit lore in that if the body is too degraded/too far gone resurrection can cause unexpected side effects. So that being said, Jason is catatonic after being fished out. Talia isn't sure if it was the brain damage sustained pre-mortem or the time elapsed between his death and his resurrection, but she doesn't want to give up on him. Ra's, dissapointed, decides to just have Jason killed in his sleep, only for Jason to absolutely wreck the poor guy tasked with killing him. Similar to the YJ and Lost Days depiction, he's not fully there but still capable of fighting based off of muscle memory alone. Ra's, now slightly less dissapointed, agrees to keep him and have him trained by the League of Assassin's (5 yo Damian and 4 yo Mara enter the chat)

Age 16: Jason slowly regains his consciousness within the year and some change he's in the League. Decides to cut loose and take off once he feels ready to do so. Talia chases him to Gotham. Jason, realizing that nothing has really changed and that he's been replaced, decides that he needs a plan. Talia (trting to stall him from going off the fucking rails) offers to continue his training.

Age 18: Jason goes through two years of his assassin training turned murder world tour like in Lost Days. He feels ready to return to Gotham for real, but Talia has one more teacher for him. Ever since he came out of the pit he has lapses where he kinda... gets punted out of his body. Like his soul occasionally untethered. Talia drops him off with Durca and the All Caste who will teach mortals some basic level soul arts just to make sure nothing evil ever gets the chance to highjack a body and wreak havoc. (I need the All Caste lore to actually be expounded upon at some point istg)

Age 20: Jason spends little over two years with the All Caste and unlocks the All Blades. Still heads to Gotham to try and murder the Joker. The events of UtRH transpire.
