Jerta's Cumbrous Buttress

Yeeeeeeee, I was in a 48 hour Game Jam in St Louis this weekend and helped make a game. The game had to be made around the theme of "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." and go from that idea to a working game within 48 hours. It was really fun to see everyone work together and put so much effort into something they wanted to do. There was also obscene amounts of free food.  I pitched the idea to have a reactive world where the NPCs would only perform actions that you did. In turn, you'd only see what you have already done. We got a team of 4 people together that liked the idea and we decided that stealing would be the first mimicked mechanic. We set the framework for the game up in Game Maker Studio, implemented stealing, and almost had attacking and health in the game when we neared the end of the 48 hours. Right now it's just a single room where the NPCs run around stealing from you and each other after you start the chain of events with the first theft, but it has some really nice music, sound effects, and art. There were some assets we couldn't fit in visually or audibly but are in the source files and I think CT and I will fix it up just a little bit so you can see and hear those.  You can check it out and even download and play it here:http://globalgamejam.org/2014/games/mob-mentality.
