I Dont Even Know When I Became This Mentally Ill

My favorite response to “that’s not a word” is “then why do you know what it means?”

Every time someone within 30 miles of me says “that’s a made up word” I am uncontrollably compelled to respond “ALL WORDS ARE MADE UP!”

In a college language class I took, we talked about the Jabberwocky poem and the professor had us try to explain every word in it. When we got to ‘outgrabe’ she asked why it was past tense and my response was “Cause the present tense is outgribe”. Her response was “That doesn’t answer the question but that brings up a better one. Why do you know that?”

if the truman show was real and also existed in like 2022 i think people on here would call truman their poor little meow meow and they would make joke fancams of him to megan thee stallion songs and theyd draw him as a catboy and also that the discourse surrounding it would be legendary

I had a dream that there were Jerma impersonators. Like Elvis impersonators, but for Jerma. And like Elvis impersonators, a large majority of them could officiate weddings. So Jerma did a stream where he managed to hire as many as he could to officiate a wedding between himself and another Jerma impersonator. It was just a church full of Jermas all speaking over each other, while Real Jerma was trying to get them to settle down.

i do think there is a degree to which certain kinds of Instagram activists have convinced themselves that traumatising themselves in solidarity is a useful form of activism. "I'm having nightmares and crying so much I want to be sick because of all these videos of dying children but I can't look away while people are getting hurt" I mean don't you think you'd be able to help more if you weren't having nightmares and crying all the time?? don't you think this is a one-way trip to burnout? don't you think maybe increasing the amount of trauma going around is counterproductive? I dunno bro there's something to be said for bearing witness but there comes a point where you gotta look hard at yourself and go "am I helping, or am I just making myself suffer so I don't feel guilty for not suffering while somebody else is experiencing bad shit"

I say "there is no such thing as a thought crime" a lot on my blog. Well, the other side of the coin is there is also no such thing as thought heroics, thought charity or thought activism.
