psa: if youāre a broke millennial who wants to do something small to help out struggling minorities right now, eat at a local chinese restaurant next time you go out. i just went to a lunch buffet, and the lady who runs it was so appreciative we were there because apparently business has been extremely slow for a lot of chinese places since the coronavirus outbreak. people are actually afraid of catching the virus from immigrants who havenāt been to china in years/decades, and itās starting to have a negative impact on their livelihoods now that weāre a month into the panic.

Yes, and Iāve spoken to my therapist about it, who offered an explanation:
She says that people who from a young age were made to feel like they kept doing things wrong - people whoās parents had impossibly high standards for them, people who were bullied, people who have special needs, people who didnāt develop crushes on the ārightā people, people who didnāt act like the ārightā gender - basically ended up being made to feel guilty so much that guilt became their default response to everything. Guilt became the emotional response to anything which the person didnāt already have a set emotion for.
People for whom guilt is the default emotional response are also more likely to have low self-esteem, doubt their own experiences, and experience impostor syndrome. So, watch out for that too guys

not only does it fuck with sourcing images, but you canāt even SEE the images unless you have a ~pinterest account~ which I have zero interest in acquiring; it does this so completely adorable coy little thing where it shows you half the page and then when you scroll down it goes *complicated tiresome flower emoji face* JOIN PINTEREST 2 SEE MORE! *complicated tiresome flower emoji face* and my systolic reading spikes.Ā
and google lists individual pinterest pages as separate results, so if a picture is popular, there can be HUNDREDS of pinterest listings before you find anything you could possibly trace back to a source.
listen, all my art bros who are mad about people not sourcing art, i dig that, i agree that sourcing is important, but maybe stop saying reverse image search is easy or ā30 secondsā or whatever. sometimes itās just straight up impossible because fucking pinterest ruins everything.
