FINALLY A KUN REQUEST!! this is one of my favorites please enjoy and don’t let me flop!!

let’s start w the basics…

major: linguistics

minor: comparative literature

extracurriculars: book club

other: literally writing his own novel??

school life

kun is such a good student

he always does his work on time and tries to get ahead when he can

he’s a plug too

he'll even do his friends’ readings and summarize it for them if they have a particularly busy week

he doesn’t allow himself to be used though

he just loves and appreciates his friends so much and wants to help them be successful when there are things they cant control that can get in the way of that

kun really enjoys his studies

his required courses are really stimulating and keep him on his toes

he loves leaving class every day feeling like he’s one step closer to understanding where language comes from and why we communicate the way we do

kun’s passion for linguistics sprouted from his adoration of reading

he’s a member of every book he could find on campus

he firmly believes the more you read, the more perspectives you’re able to see, which in turn, makes you a generally more enlightened and compassionate person

kun loves reading and language so much that he decided to just write his own book over the summer for fun

he sent a “very rough draft” to a local publisher

just for experience

and to get him used to rejection in case he ever wants to seriously pursue a career in writing someday

but now he’s fucked because

they actually liked it??? so he kind of has a book deal now??

which he was not expecting at all

there were a lot of comments for him to address as he expected

and the first one he decided to deal with was the lack of a love interest for his protagonist

except there’s only one problem with that

he has no idea how to successfully write for a love interest

so he does what any normal young writer would do to get inspiration

and goes to the university’s monthly speed dating event in the quad

early stages

you had been “too single for too long,” according to your best friend

and the only way you could get them to shut up about it was if you attended one of the school’s speed dating nights

and you decided it was worth the trouble, and made your way to the quad to get this over with

you had exactly two and a half minutes with every person you’d “date”

and for the most part, those two and a half minutes couldn’t go by fast enough

after talking to other students who only cared about football, trucks, and battlestar galactica, you were about ready to up and go

but your second to last “date” changed your mind

his name was kun

“alright this is gonna go by quick, so i’m gonna take the reigns if you don’t mind,” he spoke

he was oddly productive

you nodded

“great!’ he smiled. “any hobbies?”

“well, i love to read an-”

“reading? me too! what genres are you into?”

a wide smile stretched across his smooth face and his pupils dilated noticeably UGH CUTIE

“i mean, i like fantasy, historical fiction, biographies, science fi-”

“no way! me too!” he interrupts. “i just like all books so much!! i’m writing my own actually!”

you thought that was mighty impressive and asked him what his book is about

and he told you he can’t disclose that information because of his publishing deal

and youre like,,,, wA i T.. PUBLISHER?? THAT’S SO COOL!!

and he goes, “thank you! maybe you’d like to come and read it sometime when it’s finished.”

you couldn’t help but blush and turn your head away

and that’s when you noticed you only had ten seconds left on the stopwatch

you hurriedly seized the pen the event organizers had left on the desk and grabbed kun by the wrist, taking him by surprise and causing a slight gasp to escape his lips

you messily scribbled your number onto his forearm

and as soon as you had finished writing your digits, the timer rang

as you both departed from the table, kun shouted at you from a distance “how am i supposed to read this chicken scratch?!”

you shot him a smile playfully and shouted back

“text me!”

you didn’t receive a text that night

or the night after

but the night after that, your phone dinged as soon as you hopped out of the shower

“hey! this is kun from the speed dating thing. i hope this is the right number. i’ve already texted three wrong people and have had to explain myself to each of them. it’s really embarrassing. please confirm if this is you!”

you sent him a simple “:)” in response

“so does that mean you’re down to get a coffee with me tomorrow?”

“:)”

the next morning, you had the first of many, many morning coffee breaks outside the school library

these quick little meetups usually concluded with a quick sift through the library, where you’d each recommend each other your favorite books and read the prologues to each other over a hot cup of coffee

at first, the librarians used to kick you out for having drinks inside, but now youre clever and just hide your cups under your jackets

this became a weekly occurrence

and then it started happening twice a week

and now you basically see kun every other day

he even managed to get you to join the biographical book club with him, something you’d be way too nervous to do before meeting him

kun was such a good guy

you knew he was smart and funny and you knew he was caring and fun to be around

but what you didn’t know is that he had been smitten with you from the second you scribbled your number onto his arm

one day, as you were studying for your last final of the semester, you got a call from kun

you sent him the automated response, “sorry, i cant talk right now”

but he called right back anyway

“what is it?” you answered

“i’m sorry if you’re studying but this is super important and im so excited and i just have to tell someone!”

“what’s up kun?”

“my book! it’s finished! and i finally added in the love interest like the publishers asked!”

“I’M SO PROUD OF YOU BITCH

“finish studying! then we can facetime and i can read you a chapter!”

and so for the next thirty nights (even over your winter break), you and kun would facetime so he could read you a chapter until the book was finished

and you’d give him pointers at the end of each one so he could go back and revise once you had gone to sleep

the plot was incredible, honestly

the protagonist was a divorced middle-aged man whose wife left him for being too aggressive and absent-minded all the time

in the divorce, the wife got full custody of their teenage son

but when she goes on a business trip, the protagonist gets to watch the son

however, when he goes to pick the son up to take him to his house, hes nowhere to be found

so the novel follows this poor guy trying to find his missing son

but no one seems to be listening to him, so hes losing his mind

he’s working alongside the police and falls for the dci leading the investigation

and basically in the end it turns out he’s schizophrenic and his wife and son never existed at all

all of this was in his imagination

and he had just been showing up to the police station every day like a crazy person

kun did so much research for that

he even got the accuracy of his portrayal of a schizophrenic checked by his pal psych major!jungwoo

on the night kun finally finished reading to you

you were sh0000000000000k like what the fuck all that trouble for it all to be fake?? genius kun!!

so he asked for your feedback on the development and personalities of all his characters

you complimented him on how well he portrayed the dci

they weren’t your typical love interest

they were headstrong and witty and educated

and they were determined to help the protagonist find his son when no one else was listening to him

“you like them?” he asked you

“yes! they were so different than i had expe-”

“i was hoping you’d like them. i was inspired by you.”

your heart BURST!!!

“KUN THAT’S SO SWEET!”

and that’s when he explained to you why he went to speed dating to begin with, and told you he was so glad to have met you

because you were the “perfect muse”

and then he asked if you’d like to be his s/o

and of course

you said yes bc duh?? he’s kun?? 

relationship

kun is the cutest bf ever!!!

nothing has really changed between you two

you still have library and car dates

but now you hold hands sometimes

and when kun is feeling extra bold, he gives you a peck on the cheek

you guys have such a cute and innocent relationship

you can often be seen together on the campus quad where you met for the first time, you in kuns arms, him tickling your stomach to make you giggle

he’s so sweet and is so considerate of your needs

out of all the boys, he’s hands down the one most likely to change for you if you guys hit a rough patch

he always pays for food

which kind of ticks you off because what if one day he goes broke

but all he really cares about is your happiness and satisfaction

and he really just wants you to know that no one loves you quite like he does

jungwoo’s been dragging me by my weave since boss, and he’s about ready to send that bitch into orbit

let’s start w the basics...

major: psychology

minor: child development

extracurriculars: best buddies

other: helps out at student support groups

school life

ugh he is the sweetest thing

he’s so observant and analytical it seriously hurts

he gives the best advice and is all of his friends’ go-to shoulder to cry on

because he’s gonna do more than just tell them it’s gonna be okay

he’s gonna tell them exactly what they need to hear exactly when they need to hear it

he’s just skilled that way

no, he’s not a sociopath. shaners, begone from me!

he’s not a busy guy, rather an occupied one

if that makes sense

what im trying to say is that his schedule isn’t all that packed and he’s not involved in too many extracurricular activities

but that’s because he’s so passionate about the ones he is “lucky enough to be a part of”

he loves being one of the event planners for best buddies

he always coordinates the best events and he knows it

like last year, he came up with the genius idea of a yule ball themed winter formal ugh his mind

and he loves being a facilitator at student support groups because he feels like he’s actually making positive change in his community

and that’s really what he wants to do forever, y’know?

early stages

your best friend was a psych major

and they could not be more stressed about their upcoming finals

you’d text them every day asking to hang out, but they’d turn you down every time, saying they were studying for their learning and memory final with this guy named jungwoo

you knew they needed to study and do well in school

but tbh,,, you were kinda jealous of this jungwoo guy

your best friend was one of the only people you ever spent time with outside of class, and them being so busy these days made you feel lonely at times

so you decided you would get involved in a club or two to keep yourself occupied and maybe make some new friends

you tried out every club you came across

model un? massive time commitment

michael jackson fanclub? the president, donghyuck, was a little too enthusiastic..

poetry club? so many stuck-up white kids

you had just about given up hope

until one day

you saw a flyer on a lamppost on the way to your english lit class

“come to best buddies! every friday at 3pm in room 106!”

“cute,” you thought

you were in

so that friday, you went to the best buddies meeting in a hurry

your class before this had run late

so you open the classroom door as quietly as possible

and it seemed as if all eyes focused on you

you froze in place, feeling totally overwhelmed

but you noticed an orange-haired boy standing at the whiteboard, gesturing for you to come in

“don’t be shy. take a seat!”

he flashed you one of the warmest, most genuine smiles you had ever seen

“so, back to brainstorming, everyone”

he was cute

he was really cute

at this particular meeting, the cute orange-haired boy was leading the club as they brainstorm ideas for their first fundraising event next month

and he seems so lovely???

like some of the other members are recommending some Dumb Ass ideas like a kissing booth or selling beer and the boy is still so tolerant and open to their ideas???

and youre like UGH im really gonna like best buddies!!

and so at the end of the meeting the orange-haired boy pulls you aside

and youre like..... huh? me?

and he smiles at you, chuckling under his breath UWU

“youre new. welcome to best buddies! i think we have a great year ahead of us! im one of the two event coordinators here. here’s my number. contact me if you need anything! would you mind telling me your name?”

and youre like UWUWUWUWUUUWUUWUUUU “im y/n.”

“awesome! i’m jungwoo. see you next time!”

and youre like.....

that BITCH

THAT FUCKIG BTICH THATS THE HOE THATS STEALING MY ONLY FUCKING FRIEND

and so yeah from that day forward you Hate him for deadass no reason

and the more meetings you attend, the more you realize how sweet and passionate he is

which literally only makes you hate him more bc he cant be smart AND funny AND caring AND cute like…

unfair!

and as the weeks go by

you start to realize that jungwoo is That Bitch when it comes to event planning

he always has the best theme ideas for dances and fundraisers and always comes up with the cutest destinations for best buddies outings

so you decide to make it your mission to one-up jungwoo at every chance you get

and so begins the lowkey rivalry between you and jungwoo

“so i was thinking we should take participants on a ‘haunted’ hayride for the october outing.”

“jungwoo, that’s cute! but what if we got everyone together to build a haunted house? then we could charge people for entry and use it as both an outing and a fundraiser.”

and jungwoo senses the cockiness in your voice

he’s no fool

and he’s literally studying human thoughts and emotions

but even still, he can’t quite put his finger on why you have it in for him

and that distresses him

but he tries his best to carry on with his daily life as best he can

but honestly...

youve really been stealing his thunder lately

like he’s always the go-to guy for his friends when they have problems, but somehow he became the one running to them

he’s not debilitated by your very existence and your knack for event planning but he feels like maybe he did something wrong to make you not like him???

and that hurts him because he really prides himself on being a kind, fun-loving guy :(((

and so the fall comes to a close

and it’s time that the club votes to pick the two members who will work together to plan the winter formal alongside the club president

and of course jungwoo knows hes gonna win a spot

he did last year

making him the first freshman in best buddies history to land a spot on the winter formal committee

and on your way to the final best buddies meeting of october, your phone vibrates because of an email notification

“congratulations! you’ve been selected as one of the two best buddies members to help plan the winter formal!”

and youre like FUUUUUUUCK WHAT IF THE OTHER ONE’S JUNGWOO

plot twist: it is

he lowkey expected you’d be the other planner

but he didnt mind

he really wanted to use this opportunity to impress you and to show you he really wasnt that bad after all

which is literally not what you thought at all but okay

and so, as required, you attended the mandatory winter formal committee (aka you, jungwoo, and the president) meetings twice a week

and somehow?? you and jungwoo managed to be able to like.. function as a team??

despite your constant need to one-up jungwoo, you let him take the dub and said you liked his theme idea better than your own

you were actually impressed by him this time

he had planned this whole elaborate outer space theme in mind for the best buddies winter formal

with different sections of the massive gym representing the different topography climates or each planet in the solar system

and you helped him develop his idea too

you came up with the idea to have the entryway look like a space shuttle, so it’s like youre embarking on a space mission when you walk into the gym

ugh your minds worked so well together

over the course of the next few weeks, you really let your guard down

and somehow, your grudge against jungwoo evaporated into thin air

now he wasn’t infuriatingly sweet and cute and intelligent

he was adorably sweet and cute and intelligent

and before you knew it, it was the night of the winter formal

you and jungwoo stood outside the gym all dolled up, welcoming the attendees

“we did a pretty spectacular job, didnt we, y/n?”

you looked down at your feet as you blushed and smiled, nodding in agreement

“i’ve never really seen you smile. your smile is beautiful! wear it more.”

and you literally felt your heart launch itself into space right there and then

and you just thought to yourself..

yeah, jungwoo’s a whole man

you two talked the night away and actually had a really fun time

so as the dance came to a close

jungwoo said to you

“you know, i gave you my number at that first meeting. i really wish you’d text me some time.”

and with that, he walked away from you, a huge grin playing on his lips

and you were like UGHHHHHHGHGHHGHHG WAS THAT LIKE PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE OR IS HE BEING CUTE FDSFKJDSKFJD

and you were SAD now because this was the last time you’d see him before winter break

but he said to text him

so the next morning, you did

you sent him a simple “hey :)” after like ten whole minutes of trying to come up with the perfect message

and he replied in a flash with an even more lively “heyy :))”

and you were like HHHHHH “i feel like we got off on the wrong foot at the beginning of the semester. i was really jealous of you because...” blah blah blah and you tried to explain yourself and apologize to him for being so cold

and he was surprisingly cool about it???

and after another few minutes of communicating, he shot you one final text

“hey so im getting on a plane back home in five minutes, but i wanted to ask you something before i board.”

and youre like AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH “sure, what is it?”

“i know it’s really early, but i wanted to ask if maybe you’d be my best buddie at the spring fling?”

and youre like “yes! sure! of course! see you there! have fun at home! text ya later! bye! did i say sure?! see ya! have a safe flight! goodbye!”

relationship

so when you returned from break

you and jungwoo didn’t see each other until the first best buddies meeting of the semester

and you two were all smiles around each other

you didn’t jump to put a label on things

but about a week before the spring dance he shot you a text asking

“we’re still on for the spring fling, right?”

“yeah, of course. why do you ask?”

“just wondering. i also wanted to ask if you would like to be my s/o. officially.”

and of course, you agree

being jungwoo’s s/o is so nice

he does anything and everything for you

he literally wont let you leave the best buddies meeting room until you let him carry your books for you

and he does all the corny stuff too

like lending you his jacket when it’s cold out and pretending to yawn so he can discretely put his arm around you at the movie theater

he loves to practice his psychology studies on you too

like if he notices you twiddling your thumbs or walking at a different pace than normal, he’ll immediately jump to analyzing your behavior

“your body language is different than usual. you seem stressed? do you have a paper coming up?”

sometimes it gets lowkey annoying

but tbh it’s still so cute because that’s one of his little ways of showing you that he really cares about you and your wellbeing

all in all, you wouldnt have jungwoo any other way

and he wouldnt have you change a thing either

UGH WE LOVE YOU!!! m just went to sleep, but she’s gonna wake up to this and uwu all day long. we love you x
