I want to get started on circuit bending but have no experience whatsoever. where should I begin?

HIII!!! sorry I just saw this now! I highly recommend starting with Reed Ghazala's book, it's written in a way that's very easy for an electronics novice to understand. I still go back to it sometimes for a refresher. It's a great book and should tell you all you need to know!

Also!! Start by working on older toys! On newer stuff everything is built into the PCB like this and it's insanely easy to fry the toy. In fact, this is my first attempt at soldering to SMDs (surface mounted devices) in years. I'm actually not that great at soldering so I might fry it then keep it for practice. Wish me luck!
