"For about a month, the ­actor has been in what he calls “an emotional, spiritual and cardiovascular boot camp” to prepare himself for the taxing performance schedule through Jan. 4. And for acting in 3-inch stilettos.

Even during downtime from practice, he slipped on the heels at his ­apartment in the West ­Village to get ­accustomed to the lift. “I’ve never rehearsed out of fishnets,” he says. “Or heels. Or a bra.””
