I’ve just finished a whole combo platter of Ethiopian food. If you want to feel as uncomfortably full and warm inside I recommend you call in a carry-out order of the veggie/ tibb platter from Ebenezer Ethiopian because it is seriously the best I’ve had in Baltimore. Seriously though, just call- it’s ready in 15 minutes. If you’re not in Baltimore or don’t have access to tibb or injera then you’re out of luck and I feel very sorry for you. Anyways..

Okay, maybe some people are still regular members, but I haven’t checked back on this community for around a decade so I thought I’d scope out what’s available in the Popular All Time category. I did find a helpful one-page sheet on rocks.  It’s a short tutorial that takes you through each stage of digitally painting different types of rocks.  Although it’s meant for digital painting, it would also work well for watercolor or gouche. I recommend printing it out as a reference sheet even if you’re using it to paint in different media.  

This is a short walk-through and it is lacking references for how to choose color so if you’re working digitally practice using a color picker from an actual image and making swatches on your canvas. I reccomend starting with a limited color palette first with adding deeper hues later on. Also, don't forget to turn your f.lux off if you’re working at night (my doodles turned out bluer than I thought). I spent 15-30 minutes on each of the types of rock, then for fun did a doodle after so I could get a sense of how I could use the techniques.
