Sometimes they don't even know they do it. They've been so ingrained and have such low self-esteem that it is just second nature to constantly put themselves down. "Yeah, haha, I'd like to join the discord but I'm so annoying they'd kick me out lol"

But that results in a self-fulfilling prophecy mi amigos. Because guess what? You are now making it other people's jobs to appease your low self-esteem. "No, you're not annoying! Give the discord a shot!"

Good-natured, empathetic people, who care about you are going to want to help you. But they will get tired of constantly appeasing your low-self esteem. Which inevitably causes them to either pull away for their own well being, or they will grow resentful of you for being exhausting.

I'm not saying "Hey! Just stop being negative!" Not everyone needs to be happy all the time. But, stop and examine your conversations and interactions.

Why are you calling yourself stupid, annoying, or untalented?

Is it because you want reassurance that you aren't?

Is it because you're just so accustomed to it that it's comfortable? (There can be security in putting ourselves down before someone else does).

Or do you not even realize you're doing it?
