After almost 9 hours, I can finally listen to Lover. This will be a thread for my initial thoughts of each song.

Cruel Summer: At first I thought it was going to be quite sad, but after listening to it, I am a bit torn. Yes, it has some sad aspects to it, however, at the same time, I feel like it is a bit hopeful. Yes it was a cruel summer, yes she was a bit apprehensive at first, but she is willing to try. 

Lover: I mean, what more can I say about Lover that I haven’t said before. This song is a masterpiece. The harmonies, the melody, the lyrics, the BRIDGE. It is perfect all around.

The Man: When the tracklist came out I claimed The Man. I knew the song would be an anthem. I knew it would be empowering and also it would be a social commentary on how double-standards work. On the hypocrisy of the industry and life in general. AND SIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The beat is so freaking good!! 

The Archer: You already know this melody will be played at my funeral. The simplicity of the song makes it even more haunting and beautiful. 

I Think He Knows: You can feel the confidence @taylorswift had when she wrote the song. She knows what she wants, she asks for it “He better lock it down, or I won’t stick around”. She knows her value. She is aware of how she feels about him, but she also knows that someone will love and care for her as deeply as she feels. 

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince: This song is a bit cryptic. I feel like I need to listen to it 13 more times in order to actually get the meaning behind it. What I can gather from it now is that even when you feel like people might be against you there’ll be that someone that will always be by your side: “It’s you and me”. But you need to fight for what you want and for what you believe in. False god: This song gives me sensual, sexy, r&b vibes. It feels grown-up and I am living for it. 

After almost 9 hours, I can finally listen to Lover. This will be a thread for my initial thoughts of each song.

Cruel Summer: At first I thought it was going to be quite sad, but after listening to it, I am a bit torn. Yes, it has some sad aspects to it, however, at the same time, I feel like it is a bit hopeful. Yes it was a cruel summer, yes she was a bit apprehensive at first, but she is willing to try. 

Lover: I mean, what more can I say about Lover that I haven’t said before. This song is a masterpiece. The harmonies, the melody, the lyrics, the BRIDGE. It is perfect all around.

The Man: When the tracklist came out I claimed The Man. I knew the song would be an anthem. I knew it would be empowering and also it would be a social commentary on how double-standards work. On the hypocrisy of the industry and life in general. AND SIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The beat is so freaking good!! 

The Archer: You already know this melody will be played at my funeral. The simplicity of the song makes it even more haunting and beautiful. 

I Think He Knows: You can feel the confidence @taylorswift had when she wrote the song. She knows what she wants, she asks for it “He better lock it down, or I won’t stick around”. She knows her value. She is aware of how she feels about him, but she also knows that someone will love and care for her as deeply as she feels. 

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince: This song is a bit cryptic. I feel like I need to listen to it 13 more times in order to actually get the meaning behind it. What I can gather from it now is that even when you feel like people might be against you there’ll be that someone that will always be by your side: “It’s you and me”. But you need to fight for what you want and for what you believe in. That is best explained in the bridge: “And I’ll never let you (Go) ‘cause I know this is a (Fight), That someday we’re gonna (Win)”.

Paper Rings: I am 8 songs into the album and this is my favorite so far. The beat is so catchy, I can picture myself dancing in the living room with a brush for a microphone. The songwriting is superb. Like every song, @taylorswift has written it paints a story, but for some reason, I already created a two-hour rom-com in my brain with this song as the main soundtrack. Another thing I loved is the examples she uses to paint this story “to the color we painted your brother’s wall” “Went home and tried to stalk you on the internet, Now I’ve read all of the books beside your bed” “The wine is cold, Like the shoulder that I gave you in the street” “Cat and mouse for a month or two or three, now I wake up in the night and watch you breathe”.

Cornelia Street: Meanwhile in, I Think He Knows you can feel the confidence in every single word, in Cornelia Street, you can feel a little vulnerability. She is jumping head-on, letting him know “I rented a place” but she knows this relationship is not like the others, that if it were to end, this “heartbreak time could never mend”. But, like Taylor said “Fearless is not the absence of fear. Fearless is living in spite of those things that scare you.” It’s a new beginning, she hopes it never ends, but she is still open to it.

Death by a Thousand Cuts: Continuing the whole vulnerable vibe from Cornelia Street, in this song, with this relationship they are so intertwined with each other that “saying goodbye” would be total torture. Even though both of them are committed to one another, is always important to be vulnerable with your partner.

London Boy: I’m going to be short and sweet. It makes me so happy and proud that @taylorswift is happy. This song and Paper Rings give me all the warm fuzzy feelings and I couldn’t be happier.
