1. I see your point and I understand why that would be frustrating. There’s a lot of stigma that comes with this kink and feedees/gainers don’t have the luxury of being able to hide the evidence. That’s a lot to ask of anyone. We need to stick together to fight shit like that because if any community should be fighting body shaming it’s us here.

Society abroad is willing and eager to call anyone and everyone with a little extra weight “fat” when given permission. My own brother looked skinny until he managed to lose a few pounds and now everyone says he used to be fat. It’s all about perception, because “fat” is usually a relative term.

And it’s completely the same in the weight gain community. Yes, there’s general consensus on what is typically qualified as “fat”, and I think that’s because we often use more than one term to describe people, like “chubby” or “chunky” or “skinny fat” or “superchub”. And it’s easy to get caught up in them.

And at the same time, think for a second before giving yourself a label around here, as it’s different from everywhere else. If your newfound belly is practically huge to you, and you feel fat as fuck, more power to ya! But ya’ll know what I look like now, and if I had decided to playfully call myself “fat” back when I was just a little soft-around-the-edges, I would’ve had to acknowledge what I might be calling myself now (70-100lbs later). If I was absolutely massive then, what am I now? A behemoth under 300? And would people who were about the same size as me, at the time, appreciate being considered “absolutely massive”, even outside of the community? And conversally, if I’m “fat” at 170lbs and just lookin’ kinda soft, what would you call people who weigh 400+lbs and are more than twice my size?

Again, it’s all relative and about personal preference. Call yourself whatever and have fun. But when you do so, know that other people may not label you the same way and that’s fine. Sometimes, by elevating ourselves and giving ourselves achievement labels, we seemingly bring down others who may have worked longer and harder just to be called what you are calling yourself now, but with less work involved.

Exactly. The term fat depends on perception and context. We all know that stereotype of low body-fat skinny people calling others or themselves fat when they’re really not.

I’ve got a friend who is trying to gain weight intentionally (he wants more muscle mass, but he doesn’t mind having the muscle chub look), but he probably has no idea that gainers or encouragers exist. He’s put on weight and he will occasionally call himself fat, but he’s only around 170lbs. Visibly, he is nowhere near fat and because he thinks he’s fat, he’s sees me as massive. I’m only 235lbs and I wouldn’t be even call myself fat, I’d call myself chubby more than anything.

Correct: “Hi! I just wanted to say you look attractive/have made real progress/grown a lot” You’re praising them for something they are doing, complimenting them, and not assuming anything. Also youre starting it off with something normal like ‘hi’ or 'hello’ which is how normal HUMAN conversations work

Incorrect: “Damn fatty youve let yourself go” “someones been eating too much recently” “You’re quite the pig” These are assuming the following in order:

You’re undermining their efforts to intentionally gain weight for your own amusement. I can’t believe i have to say this but that’s not cool

You’re outright scolding them for doing not only what they want but what you’re attracted to. You’re assuming they enjoy being mocked like that.

This one pisses me off the most. You’re assuming a hell of a lot (they like being called animal names AND they like being degraded) but this is almost the equivalent of a straight guy who likes fucking really fem gay men and telling them “hop on my dick faggot”
