🌸 Zid e niswaan / law against women
دل ظلم و ظلمتوں کی چیخوں میں بھی دھڑکتا رہے،
Dil zulm o zulmaton ki cheekhon mein bhi dhadakta rahe,
ضدِ نسواں کے اس قانون سے رہا چاہتا ہے
zid-e-niswaan ke is qanoon se riha chahta hai
[Even amidst the screams of cruelty and darkness, the heart still beats — seeking freedom from this anti-woman law.]
اُس شخص کو اپنے در پہ سوکھے پتے نہیں منظور،
Us shakhs ko apne dar pe sookhe patte nahin manzoor,
مگر آنگن میں شجر چاہتا ہے، ہوا چاہتا ہے
magar aangan mein shajar chahta hai, hawa chahta hai
[He rejects fallen leaves at his doorstep, yet dreams of a full tree and a breeze in his own courtyard.]
ایک ادب پرور کی عجب فرمائش ہے،
Ek adab-parwar ki ajab farmaish hai,
نظم بھی چاہتا ہے، اور مطلع بھی چاہتا ہے
Nazm bhi chahta hai, aur matla chahta hai
[A so-called patron of art — demands both the poem and the perfect opening line.]
اُس پر اب بدلے میں بھی پھول برسیں گے،
Us par ab badlay mein bhi phool barsenge,
پھول کو کچلنے والے سے، باغ بدلہ چاہتا ہے
Phool ko kuchalne walay se, bagh badla chahta hai
[Now, even in revenge, flowers will fall — for the one who crushed a flower, the garden seeks justice.]
Kisi ke dil ki lau bujha kar,
وہ اپنے گھر کا دیا جلا چاہتا ہے
woh apne ghar ka diya jala chahta hai
[Extinguishing another's heart-flame, he lights a lamp in his own home.]
انسان ایک معصوم سی چاہ سے مات کھاتا ہے،
Insaan ek masoom si chaah se maat khata hai,
آدم سے عشق چاہتا ہے، اور 'لا' چاہتا ہے
Adam se ishq chahta hai, aur ‘Laa’ chahta hai
[Man loses in his innocent desires — wanting love from Adam, and the divine ‘Laa’ (boundless love of God).]
مرد علی کی خاکِ راہ بھی نہیں بنا،
Mard Ali ki khaaq-e-raah bhi nahin bana,
اور عورت کو بنتِ فاطمہ چاہتا ہے
aur aurat ko Bint-e-Fatima chahta hai
[He hasn’t even become the dust beneath Ali’s feet, yet expects the woman to be like Fatima’s daughter.]
میری جرأت، حروف خلافِ ابوی نظام لکھوں،
Meri jurrat — huroof khilaaf-e-abwi nizaam likhoon,
قلم انصاف چاہتی ہے، پر کاغذ سزا چاہتا ہے
Kalam insaaf chahti hai, par kagaz saza chahta hai
[My courage writes letters against the patriarchal order — the pen seeks justice, but the page demands punishment.]
میں حشرِ حساب کے ترازو میں اپنا ایک سوال رکھوں گی—
Main hashr-e-hisaab ke tarazu mein apna ek sawal rakhungi—
Aurat to mard ko chahti hai,
[A woman loves the man — but what does the man truly want?]
