Trying to assure the women that they can enter glamour industry without much fear; if they are sexually assaulted, the legal system will be ready to help them.

Nobody in the media will count the numbers of sexual assaults and actual rapes, numbers of suicides, family break-ups, abortions and Sex related diseases and deaths occurring every year. Nobody will argue that unless all sources of provocation (in the media and public) are effectively removed and severe punishments are given to the guilty, the barbarism caused by the “Sexual Revolution” so assiduously promoted by the forces of economics, will continue to engulf people. The litigations will see the accusations being totally denied and proved wrong in the end and there will be charges that in fact the women themselves advanced on them.

Dr. Javed Jamil MeTooMovement has now hit India. Every day, new victims are emerging with new victimizers. India is fast becoming westernized in terms of the laws, culture and their impact. The stories will keep hitting the media. New cases will register with lawyers on both sides ensuring tremendous earning for them. Media of course will keep the audience glued with increased TRP. No one will speak any word against the new sex and sexuality espoused by the champions of “Sexual Revolution” in the name of “Freedom of Choice”. No one will ask for an effective ban on the provocation available in the media and public. The NGOs will emerge with the proposals of counseling for the women working in various industries arguing that this will save women. Women will be convinced by the agents of the Market that they should continue to enter the glamour industry without fear. The amount of money and fame they get will keep fear away from them. The Counselors will train them how to avoid sexual advances and if they are assaulted, they will be given all the legal help they need. According to the UN, around 120 million girls worldwide (slightly more than 1 in 10) have experienced forced intercourse or other forced sexual acts at some point in their lives. More than 250000 cases of rapes are reported every year. With almost 90 pc cases going unreported, it means that around 2.5 million rapes occur every year, out of which 90 pc are women. And if we know the statistics related to the economics of rapes, we can easily know why rapes will continue to occur without any effective remedial measures being proposed. According to the same site,

Annually, rape costs the U.S. more than any other crime ($127 billion), followed by assault ($93 billion), murder ($71 billion), and drunk driving, including fatalities

Health care is 16% higher for women who were sexually abused as children and 36% higher for women who were physically and sexually abused as children

Exclusion of foetal mortality rate would obviously help the cause of the countries and societies that have very high ratios of abortion. This would help their positioning high in the table and they will be able to boast themselves as the most developed societies of the world. The current world is dominated by the latter, the societies of the so-called developed world, and therefore it is they who have decided the definition of life expectancy. Obviously this has much more to do with politics of economics than with health sciences. For a medical scientist, it is not difficult to understand that the life of a human being begins immediately after the formation of the zygote (conception) and any loss thereafter is the loss of human life. But unfortunately, the WHO has failed to get this definition legally recognised by the world bodies. The reason behind this failure again lies in the supremacy of economics in the current world, the “Economic Fundamentalism”.

You are very right when you state that to reduce the gap between rich and poor, the Corporations must be examined in details for their activities. About a decade back I had written an article “ Free Economy and Bhaarat” more than a decade back and it was published then, in सम्पदा, the House Journal of Maratha Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (MCCI & A) Pune, then. I am attaching the same herewith for your reference. Kindly go through and let me have your ‘learned’ comments on the same.

In fact recently I have come across articles from USA and other Western countries which state that because of the Capitalism that they use for improving their economies have brought these countries to the precipice of destruction by having their national debts exceeding the GDP because of behaviour of the Corporates. Op Ed News had said that the Corporations established to provide food items to citizens have become so arrogant for earning money that the food supply has become ‘daily poison supply’ to the people.

Only recently I have read an article “EU’s demise, Trump presidency can boost India’s Economy” published in Sunday Guardian, sent on internet by Shri Come Carpentier that aske India to stop Cashless Societies, since it is a signal to Liberty as well as Democracy.

In short the current functioning of Economy in Bhaarat (being copied from Western Economists) should not be continued for closing the gap between Rich & Poor is what Shri Mitchell is suggesting.

Dear Mr. Apte

Thanks for your letter. I read your article, which is a very welll argued piece. The problem in today’s world is that the “economic fundamentalism” and its forces have become so powerful that anything against them is not allowed to even reach the public discourses. All the economists have been either reconditioned or employed to argue only a certain point of view. Almost evey political party, including Congress and BJP have allowed the same to happen in India. The present drives of “cashless economy” and the “loan” schemes will further trap the masses in the debt trap. Corporate-Bank Nexus has taken control over even the incomes of the next 10 years of the masses. Loans are normally given in such a way that they flow to the Corporate. I have ben trying to impress upon all the leaders and activists that if they have any interest in the welfare of the people, they have to target “economic disparity” as the biggest monster. But with the kind of the forces working both at the national and international level, I do not think this will ever gain momentum unless a revolutionary leader emerges who can convince everyone, Hindu, Muslim and others that their common benefit is in forcing the haves to share their wealth with the masses rather than the opposite, which is unfortunately the case now and is multiplying in astronomical proportions.

We cannot ignore social and economic factors that determine the nature of human existence. The tensions, stress, and conflict between opposing groups or classes of people will lead to ‘Revolution’ even in countries like China where people in the past embraced Red Revolution.

Capitalism in the West and in China does not follow the basic foundational values or principles of Democratic Governance. Corporate Governance lacks Transparency, Public Accountability, and lack of Social Contract. There is no contract between Consumers and Capitalists. For example, many major US Corporations take advantage of Tax Code to evade paying Income Tax. Corporations spend money and resources as they like without any oversight. Many Corporations have founded their own Charitable Organizations eliminating the need for Public spending to promote Social Welfare. While government allows tax deductions on charitable spending, there is no real audit or scrutiny to verify the expenses.

I am not surprised to read about the growth and spread of Islam in Africa and other places where Religion is promising Revolution visualized by Karl Marx. To some extent, credit may have to be given to the concept of Islamic Banking as it attempts to address the problems of major lending, financial institutions.

Greed and Avarice are symptoms of Spiritual Sickness. If not Spiritual Awakening, people will embrace Revolution and the Social Conflict will give birth to new Leaders to guide that Struggle.

Economic Disparity – the Monster that needs to be killed at the earliest-6

By blaming consumerism, they want to shift the blame for the current socioeconomic problems of the world on the common people. They seem to suggest that, if they are selling consumer items, and are earning high profits out of it, it is simply because the people are becoming increasingly inclined to use these items. Had there been no demand, they argue, how they could market them. They ignore the fact that the demands are not always natural; more often, they are artificially created. It must also be clear that the demands are not always genuine; many of them are based on covetousness, and are in total disregard of their impact on the surroundings. All demands, therefore, need not be met with. For example, if there is demand for destructive weapons, would they be made available in the open market; if there is demand for poison for the sake of killing others, would it be made available to whoever seeks it? For most of the supplies made by the market forces, no demand was in fact made by the people. The truth is that the majority of people do not even have any prior knowledge of what would be supplied to them in the coming future. The economic fundamentalists study the weaknesses of human beings, and then exploit them in creating demands. And after the creation of demands for a certain item, they attempt to monopolise its market by popularising a specific brand.

In my works I have also recommended some other measures related to personal and sexual hygiene that, combined with circumcision, can lead to a marked reduction in the incidence of the deadly infection. These include washing of the organs immediately after intercourse, avoidance of sex during menses and popularisation of the Islamic concept of Iddah (Waiting Period), which means that a woman cannot have intercourse with two males without a gap of at least three months. The concept of Iddah can be used to scan the risk groups like prostitutes before rehabilitating them in case they abandon their profession. This is to be noted that almost all the sex related infections have incubation periods of less than 90 days and AIDS too has a window period of 90 days in most cases. It is high time we studied all the possible measures to counter the menace of the deadly virus.

Circumcision

This was in 1997 that I had authored “Islamic Model for Control of AIDS”. Though there were a few reports of the possible relationship between circumcision and protection from AIDS at that time, I was perhaps the first in the world to advocate the inclusion of circumcision as part of the AIDS Control Programme. Following the publication of that book, PEACE, an NGO that I founded, had organised a three day seminar on “In Search of a Comprehensive Solution for AIDS” in collaboration with National AIDS Control Organisation, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare of the Government of India. In this seminar too, I had argued in favour of the inclusion of circumcision in the NACO programme. The proceedings of that seminar were published in 1999. But NACO did never take the recommendations of the seminar seriously. It was after about 8–9 years of the demand first made by me that the WHO and other organisations started contemplating to include circumcision as part of the strategy to prevent AIDS. Some other aspects of circumcision have also been discussed elsewhere in the book.

Sex the water of life

I will like to close the chapter by quoting here the concluding remarks of my book, “The Killer Sex”, which deals exclusively with the subject of the development of modern sex and sexuality under the patronage of the forces of economics:

“Sex is not something that needs to be suppressed. Sex is the well that gives life. But the need of the hour is to cleanse the well not pollute it. If it gives pure water, it would ensure health; if it is adulterated with pollutants it can kill everybody. The goblet from the well of sex is to be taken to satiate one’s desire; it can be sweetened with a sweetener, or made a bit salty by adding a pinch of salt or may be warmed or cooled depending upon the requirement. It is all right to make sex lively and not let it become livid. But don’t mix in it anything that poisons it! Sex is the gift of God that must be fully enjoyed. But don’t let the Devil wrap this gift in a colourful paper soaked with the cyanide of wild sex. If we have to save the world, we will have to guillotine the Devil of corporate sex at the earliest. If we do not get it doomed, we all will be consumed. Let the business help sex but don’t let the sex itself become a business. That is the only mantra for the salvation. I have doubts if the people would be ready to chant this mantra because, as addicts they can understand and even desire to get away with their addiction; but the addiction has shackles that are too difficult for them to break. Sexual Revolution is the monster that requires the sword of Counterrevolution to be beheaded. Insurrections here and there will not suffice. Let its elegy be sung by its progeny as soon as possible! Let this book be an important milestone in that Counterrevolution!”

It would not be wrong to assert that the coffers of the state are filled, not with the money of the big businessmen, as they claim, and is also generally understood, but, with the money of the lower, lower middle and upper middle classes. What a travesty of social justice and the welfare system! The billionaires submit as taxes what they have amassed through manipulation, deceit and sordid machinations, and want to be paid homage for the “great service” they are doing to the nation or mankind. And it is through the enormous influence wielded by these payments that they blandish the government to implement “economic reforms”. “Reforms” almost always mean actions that would help the big business almost always if not always at the cost of the people. Anything that favours people without any benefit to the market is the anti-dote of reform, and media quickly dubs such people friendly policies as “populist”. It is not that the government is unaware of the truth.

Need of Revamping Tax System

The rich particularly the big industrialists know that they have no option but to contribute to the revenue of the government. They are however hard bargainers. A major part of what they pay as taxes is recovered in multiplied amounts through the friendly policies of the government and by manoeuvring the ministers and officials to favour them. Thus, despite the fact that several alternative forms of taxes such as wealth-tax and luxury tax have been time and again mooted at different platforms, it is the income tax and sales taxes of various kinds that continue to hold sway in almost all the countries of the world. Income tax serves only the interests of big business, and has devastating effects on the economic interests of the rest of the nation. The industrialists prefer the income tax over the Wealth tax due to several reasons. First, the income tax envis­ages a tax only on the preceding year’s income and has nothing to do with the cumulative assets which keep on growing. It can be easily noticed that the value of the assets held by the affluent is always many times greater than their annual income. Thus, the income tax is the minimum possible amount they have to sub­mit.Secondly, it is easy to evade income tax through subtle manipulations of the rules, purchase of assets which are bought either surreptitiously or are shown to have been purchased at much lower than their real prices, display into accounts of much greater expenses than actually incurred, and bribing the tax-collectors. The damaging effects of income tax are multi-fold. The black money sustains its upward march; the prices keep on soaring; the land, the houses and the other immovable properties become cost­lier. Thus inflation helps the industrialists in strengthening their hold over the economy; for the value of the assets amassed by them continues to grow, their annual turnovers increase, and whatever they have to pay as income tax, or as interests on the loans, is more or less neutralised. They conceal their own incomes, convert their savings into assets and avail their re­sources as sureties for taking huge loans from the banks and financial institutions. It means that the loans are availed only by those who do not need them; those who are in need of financial support, have little chances of getting their application for loans accepted. All these damaging effects on economy can be reversed by introduc­ing assets-tax.

The other taxes, namely, the sales tax, the excise duty and the customs are paid not by the manufacturers or traders but by the customers. These taxes add to the cost of goods, and whenev­er there is an increase in the rates of these taxes, the result­ing spurt in prices causes additional burden on the shoulders of customers. It is happening because the government finds it somewhat less tedious, and more because the men controlling the government are regularly pampered by the industrialists. It is not the interest of the government or the nation it governs but the interests of the ministers and officials that coincide with those of the barons of the business world. The result is that the grand exploitation of the masses by the industrialist elite and their minions continues unabated.

To understand the truth that most of the revenues collected by the Government come directly or indirectly from the masses, let us study the Government’s tax collection of one financial year. (Direct Tax is normally described as a tax imposed directly on the one who pays it and cannot be shifted to others. But this is only a theoretical or legal position. The truth is that most of the direct taxes are also shifted to the consumers, not through charges in the form of taxes, but through adjustment in prices.)

We have figures available for 2009–10. Indian Government’s direct tax collection in 2009–10 (Apr-Mar) was estimated at Rs 3.77 trillion, In the break-up, corporate tax collection in 2009–10 was Rs 2.45 trillion and income tax Rs 1.32 trillion. Gross Tax receipts were estimated at ` 9, 32,440 crore.

This shows that only 172626 of 932439 collections that are around 18 per cent come from the big rich class. Wealth Tax is not even 0.1 pc of the total. Almost all the corporate tax is earned through high price taken from the consumers and lower salaries paid to the employees. The rest come directly or indirectly from the people including consumers. The sales tax revenues, which are much bigger, also come from the consumers. The richest become rich by earning huge profits and by transferring all their burdens on the poor. The change of Sales Tax to VAT further ensures that only the end consumer pays most of the tax collections, and the businessmen who have paid tax on purchase of certain items for further processing, do not have to pay sales tax.

Even if the whole of the tax collected by the Centre is taken as the amount coming from the richer class, the sales tax paid by the common people and collected by states is at least 6 times the total tax collected by the Centre. In India this is even more deplorable because in most of the Western countries, Sales Tax collections are only about 50 pc of the total tax and in many countries including Arab countries, there is no sales tax.

One positive step towards minimising economic disparity will be to change the tax system in a way that tax comes from the pocket of the rich and not the less-moneyed. The above list of collections must drastically change. Taxes on income and purchase must be slowly but steadily reduced and taxes on assets should be increased. A “Tax on Production” preferably in the form of goods (not currency) can be introduced, which can then be sold or distributed by the government according to a plan. This will reverse inflation, will reduce the cost of land and houses, more people will be in a position to have their own houses, sales will increase, the income will be generated not through inflation but through increased work and production, business will grow and more people will get employment.

The present economic planning, influenced by corporatisation, talks of TRICKLING EFFECT, where money flows from the top to the bottom, with the rate of the flow decreasing fast as it comes down. This is truly harsh. We have to make sure that the most impoverished sections are taken care of first with the trend upwards.

“Growth” should be measured in terms of goods and services and not in terms of currency, which is a false indicator of economic activity in a country.

Either the forces of governance hide the truth or they don’t understand it. If they understand, they do not exhibit it. If they do not exhibit it, it is because they do not want to act on what they know. The result is what we see. Inflation is talked about day and night in the rallies, gatherings and media but not controlled. We have been made to believe that inflation rate can be reduced to some extent but there can never be zero inflation. This is despite the fact that the intrinsic value of all goods and services almost always, if not always, remains the same. It may sound bizarre but to me inflation is a sign of failing economy under natural circumstances. If inflation is there, ideally it should mean that the supply is lesser than the demand, which means a failure of economy. But in practice, nothing is natural. Whatever happens on the economic scene is almost all manoeuvred by the forces of economics with the help of their cronies. …Every political party talks of inflations. Elections are won and lost on the basis of the failure of controlling inflation. But none has the guts to discuss the truth. More often than not, the people engaged in the supply of agricultural goods are blamed for the problem. Often the government is censured for raising the prices of petroleum. The media is in control of the corporate houses. The institutions teach the theories of economics that have been propounded by the theorists recognized by the corporates as genuine economists. The result is that the role of corporates is hardly ever discussed. ….The model of growth, which is in force in the country, is one of growth with monopolization and not the one of growth with distribution. The policies related to the establishment of industries, pricing mechanism, the tax structure — — all are aimed at strengthening and preserving the monopolization module. These all culminate in inflation and ever increasing economic disparity.

The role of the Corporates has to be re-examined

The corporates have not only been busy in generat­ing wealth by commercialising even those activities that were not meant for commercialisation, and by creating conditions often at the cost of healthy, family peace and social equilibrium, favouring the sales of their products; they have also taken every possible step to monopolise wealth. They have achieved this by

Giving more importance to economics than any other department of social life,

Establishing a banking system that puts at their disposal colossal public money with which they generate huge profits, while giving virtually nothing to the real owners of that money,

Establishing stock exchange that attract the public money at much less risk and conditions than the banks,

Supporting a tax system that enables them to part with the least possible portion of their possessions,

Maintaining an infla­tionary trend which enables them to recover most of the money they have to pay as taxes or interests,

Insisting on increasing privatisation that helps them expand businesses,

Projecting misleading statistics and criteria of development,

Changing the taste and perceptions of the people through steady campaigns.

When the corporates use their own money, they seek to make huge profits out of it, but when they use the public money, channelled through banks, finan­cial agencies and stock market, they are willing to pay the people only a negligible portion of the profit they have amassed through that money. Whatever is paid to them is channelled back by way of inflation. This exploitation has to be countered, if economic justice is to be brought to the denizens of the earth. To achieve this grand objective, two major changes in the industrial set-up will have to be brought about as early as possible.

First there should be an equal share in profits between investing partners and working partners.

Secondly, the minor share holders, who together often own about half of the total shares in the company, must play a more active role in the affairs of the company so that the directors do not exploit or cheat them depriving them of their money. This can be achieved by the creation of a Minor Shareholders’ Association in every company. The office bearers of the Associa­tion can be elected at regular intervals. The representatives of the association must be among the directors of the company, their number depending upon the shares they represent. This would enable them to ensure that the interests of minor shareholders are not compromised, they get due share in the profits, the major shareholders do not use company’s money for their own inflated expenses, are continuously in the know of the state of affairs and in case the company is suffering losses, these are not entirely thrust upon them (minor share holders). This would also help them in receiving divi­dends at regular intervals, and the directors would find it diffi­cult to withhold them in the name of residual value.

Inflation and Pricing Mechanism

Either the forces of governance hide the truth or they don’t understand it. If they understand, they do not exhibit it. If they do not exhibit it, it is because they do not want to act on what they know. The result is what we see. Inflation is talked about day and night in the rallies, gatherings and media but not controlled. We have been made to believe that inflation rate can be reduced to some extent but there can never be zero inflation. This is despite the fact that the intrinsic value of all goods and services almost always, if not always, remains the same. It may sound bizarre but to me inflation is a sign of failing economy under natural circumstances. If inflation is there, ideally it should mean that the supply is lesser than the demand, which means a failure of economy. But in practice, nothing is natural. Whatever happens on the economic scene is almost all manoeuvred by the forces of economics with the help of their cronies.

Every political party talks of inflations. Elections are won and lost on the basis of the failure of controlling inflation. But none has the guts to discuss the truth. More often than not, the people engaged in the supply of agricultural goods are blamed for the problem. Often the government is censured for raising the prices of petroleum. Themedia is in control of the corporate houses. The institutions teach the theories of economics that have been propounded by the theorists recognized by the corporates as genuine economists. The result is that the role of corporates is hardly ever discussed.

The model of growth, which is in force in the country, is one of growth with monopolization and not the one of growth with distribution. The policies related to the establishment of industries, pricing mechanism, the tax structure — — all are aimed at strengthening and preserving the monopolization module. These all culminate in inflation and ever increasing economic disparity.

What is conveniently forgotten by all the political and economic pundits is the role of the corporates in inflations. While the participants in the supply of agricultural products are cursed, nobody dares to ask the question: are consumer products of the industries justly priced? When the goods of the market are priced much higher than their intrinsic values and the people are lured to use industrial products in increasingly larger quantities, the pressure on the pockets will also compel those involved in agricultural production and smaller businesses to increase the prices of their products and the labourers will also be compelled to increase the prices of their services. What is required to curb inflation on a long term basis necessitates the following steps:

(i) Revision of Inflation Basket of the country

Not only the Consumer Price Index should replace the Wholesale Price Index, which is currently the policy in India, we need to revise the list of the items of the basket itself. The current basket mainly includes 3 categories:

Primary articles

The prices of these articles would impact our daily sustenance and it hits the poor the hardest. This part of WPI, constituting 20.12% of the index, compares prices of all basic material, including food and non-food articles. Among food articles, some of the main heads are foodgrain, fruits and vegetables, eggs, meat and fish. In the non-food subgroup, some of the major heads under which prices for specific items are compared are fibre and oil seeds.

Fuel and power

Life, especially in urban areas, is hard to imagine without power or fuel. This part of the index compares prices for all materials and items needed to produce power and fuel. It constitutes 14.91% of the overall index. This group consists of three subgroups — coal, mineral oils and electricity. The subgroup mineral oil has the maximum weight of 9.36% (of the overall index). Items, such as kerosene, diesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and petrol, fall in this category.

Manufactured goods

This constitutes the largest part of the index — 64.97%. There are many subgroups in this category; some of the main ones are chemical and chemical products, basic metals, alloys and metal products, food products, machinery and machine tools and textiles. This may not affect you directly, but it means price changes in products, such as vehicles, clothes, furniture, soaps and shampoo, among other things. Ferrous alloys, a group item, which falls in the basic metals subgroup is one of the largest single contributor to the overall WPI at 8.06%. (Source)

It can be seen that the “manufactured goods” form the largest index with about two third of the whole basket. Obviously, if this group remains priced at much higher levels than what is justified, the cost of living will remain high. The potato chips packet, which should be available for Rs. 3 is sold at Rs 10, the soft drinks that should be sold at Rs. 5/- are sold at triple prices. The branded clothes and all other consumer items are priced very high. The medicine that should cost Rs 1 is available at Rs 10. Moreover, newer items are being added to the market with huge advertising, and in the initial stages of the introduction of the new items, these are priced very high with the aim of first emptying the pockets of those who can afford to pay that much price in return of their craze for new items, which become status symbols soon.

It can be noted that the inflation basket misses the cost of accommodation altogether. The cost of the land and houses is nowhere mentioned. The rise in rents of the houses and shops is totally ignored. The truth on the other hand is that the inflation in the property rates is the biggest factor in the rise of economic disparity. It will be explained below why and how inflation has direct link with the policies that lead to increase in the rates of properties.

Once the accommodation and property are included in the basket, the inflation rate will be found to be much bigger than what is presently understood.

Another item that is conspicuous by its absence is communication: the telephone, mobiles, internets, TV and entertainment.

Surprisingly, medicines and healthcare are also missing the basket despite the fact that no single family can avoid them.

The first essential step for controlling inflation therefore is to revise Inflation Basket and make it more comprehensive. All the categories, and not merely the Primary goods, need attention.

(ii) Autonomous Price Watch

The net Inflation is not always due to the increased rate of inflation of certain products. It is also due to the increased pressure on the pocket of common man due to his increased dependence on the market products, which are priced much higher than they should, even if their prices have remained constant for a long time. As has already been said that the prices of new items and new services are often very high in the beginning and then they are reduced. But despite this deflation, it has an adverse effect because it increases the monthly expenditure of the people, and this is reflected in inflation in agricultural items and labour. There should be a mechanism by which the companies are pressurized, even if not legally compelled to keep prices under check. The people should know how much they are paying for a certain brand instead of what they should ideally do. The injustices to the consumers must be exposed. I would like to suggest an autonomous PriceWatch. This organization should regularly publish reports on the pricing mechanism of the companies and should suggest the ideal price for each product of the company. This would pressurize the companies to keep the costs in justifiable ranges, and will encourage competition among the companies producing similar items. There should be a limit to the cost of publicity adding to the cost of items. (The Corporate Tax is levied on the net income of the companies, which allows them to spend heavily on advertising and transfer the cost to the consumers by raising the price.)The people should not be made to pay for the reputation of the company. More people should be able to buy good items at a reasonable cost rather than fewer people being able to buy at exorbitant rates. The true economy is based on the amount of items and services (and not the currency) exchanged.

The stock exchanges serve their purpose by amassing wealth of the common people for their use at tremendously easy conditions. They would not have to face the innumerable con­straints put by the banks. The common people would be easier to convince about the “enormous benefits” of investing in their companies. The biggest advantage of course would be that in case there are diminished returns, the loss would not fall on their shoulders alone; they would without much of a difficulty transfer the major portion of their losses to the small shareholders who have no option in such circumstances except to sell their shares at much lesser prices than that at which they purchased them. It is hardly surprising then that the frequent ups and downs in the stock-market are often artificially regulated in order to benefit a major investor or harass a competitor in the market. The minor shareholders, the common people, almost always have to bear the brunt. Share-market has turned speculative on account of the increasing role being played by the middlemen and dons of betting

The role of Stock Market has to be re-examined

The forces of economic fundamentalism have benefited immensely from banks. But from their point of view, there were some drawbacks of the banking system:

First, they have limited capacity to cater to the ever-increasing demands of the manufacturers and traders;

Second, banks could provide money only up to a certain limit and for only a certain period. The compulsion of paying back the instalments, shortly after the procurement of loans, would sometimes put the companies and their directors under insurmountable pressure. This would stall or terry their growth.

Third, the banks regularly meddled in the affairs of the business.

Fourth, in case the business suffers loss, the banks did not share it and had to be repaid the whole loan along with the interest. In recent days though in India, examples abound where the heavy bank loans of the rich industrialists have been waived off. The banks having been managed by competent persons, it was not easy to deceive them.

To overcome all these obstacles, companies were floated allowing the common people to buy shares and to facilitate selling and buying of shares, stock-exchange was erect­ed. They have money to invest in the companies but no role to play in formulating the policies. The directors use their positions to safeguard their own interests, obviously at the expense of the tens of thousands of minor investors. When the equities are declared open, the public has no method of its own to examine the credentials of the company and has to rely solely on whatever little information, obviously presented in a way so as to attract the investors and to avoid any legal implica­tions, is made available to them by the directors. There is no foolproof procedure to determine the genuineness of a company. With increasingly greater number of people falling to the lure of the share-market, which has became no less speculative than the lottery and bookies, several investment companies have surfaced. These companies succeed in luring the commoners because being unable to understand the nuances of stock-exchange they prefer safety. These companies are adept in the art of investment, and their guile helps them make big fortunes. Whatever they earn, is naturally ultimately paid by the people. Betting has further complicated the matters, and the bosses of the bookies use their links and influence to generate false ripples in the ex­change. To boost up public investments, the news of share-market and sensex-indexes are broadcast daily on radio and TV; the impression that goes to the public is that the survival of economy depends only on the sensex.

There is a need to have a blanket review of the functioning of the Stock Market and how its ups and downs more often than not affect the fortunes the people at large and of small shareholders in particular. The role of brokers needs to be curtailed and the minor shareholders have to be given a larger role in the functioning of companies.

It was alright if the people would have become shareholders in companies and they would have earned directly from their investments (Primary market). But the creation of stock exchange (Secondary Markey) is proving to be nothing more than large scale institutionalisation of gambling and betting. The values of the shares of the companies go up and down dozens of times daily with the result that the brokers and hardcore players of the game loot hundreds of millions of dollars; the common people are the obvious victims. What are gambling and betting?: the games of speculation and chances in which people are attracted towards making some easy money by the runners of the gambling and betting businesses and all but “lucky” few are robbed of their money. Isn’t it is ridiculous that while the prices of the products of the company are fixed by the companies themselves and they take extraordinary measures to have strict control over the supplies of their products only at the prices fixed by them, which do not change for months, often years, the prices of their shares are allowed to be determined in the Stock Exchange, which go up and down dozens of times daily? There is absolutely no reason why the value of shares must change without any declaration of the balance sheet of the companies. But the market forces are quick to plunder the money of the less moneyed.

AIDS cannot be controlled unless there is an effective campaign against prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and promiscuity.

Homosexuality

To meet the interminable demands, merchants are always ready to offer novelties to the customers. In order to compete with one another, and to further swell their coffers, they began to popu­larise sexual perversions. Mass sex, sadism and masochism became common. Homosexuality was soon introduced as a new brand in the market. The combination of heterosexual and homosexual promiscuity would entrap almost everybody on the surface of the earth, at least in their calculations. It is not that sodomy did not exist before in his­tory. Several religious scriptures have given grim accounts of how the citizens of the twin cities of Gomorrah and Sodom had become addicts of anal sex. So prevalent in fact it had become that there were not even ten righteous persons left in the city, according to Bible. Bible and Qur’an both have narrated how the twin cities were ultimately ‘stoned to death’ by way of a tempestuous rain of sulphur stones from the sky. It is a known fact that homosexuality is still very much there in most of the countries. According to some estimates, 5–10% of males may be having such propensities. But there is a basic difference bet­ween homosexuality rampant in West and the one in some other coun­tries. In Islamic and the majority of Asian countries, homo­sexuality is considered to be a big sin even by those who practise it. There is no question at all of glorifying or justifying it and the gays’ associations have only recently been making clandestine appearance in some metropolitan and cosmopolitan cities. In Western countries, on the other hand, it has turned commercial.

The gay movement has also followed the commercialisation way. It is to facilitate business that sturdy gay movements have been organised; and under their pressure, one government after the other has chosen to legalise it. Gay clubs and literature are now booming in almost every city of Western world. Furthermore, while in Asian countries, homosexuality is not usually isolated, with most homosexuals also having heterosexual liaisons, in West, organised gay campaigns have led to exclusive homosexuality. Women too have not remained far behind, and lesbianism is also on the increase. The other reasons for giving huge publicity to the gay movements are that it would help in controlling population that occupies a central place in the strategy of the economic fundamentalists, and would also accelerate the disintegration of family system.

The demoniac march of the commercialised sex has necessitated that all perversions must be considered “normal and natural” behaviour and any stigma associated with them should be struck with a fatal blow. The chiefs of homosexual net and their marshals have been advancing the nonsense argument that relations between two persons belong­ing to the same sex are natural as a sizeable percentage of human population has such propensities. The commercial convenience makes them forget the truth that “natural” and “human” are not synonymous. The natural phenomena are essentially good for mankind; these defend humans against death, disease and destruction, for they are aimed at the common rather than the individual good. Even when they seem to be destructive (natural tragedies), they are the manifestations of an effort on the part of the Nature to bring back the harmony that has somehow been dis­turbed. The natural tragedies are therefore aimed at averting bigger tragedies in the future. The human tendencies, on the other hand, are generally the result of self-gratification and tend to disturb the natural equilibrium. It is the human (not natu­ral) weaknesses that have given rise to crimes, diseases and abnormal acts including sexual perversions. If homosex­ual proclivities are accepted as natural, murderous instincts and tendencies to rape, steal or impinge upon others’ rights must also be regarded natural. And if the latter deserve outright condemnation, reform and punishment, the former also require the same treatment.

Homosexual relations, particularly man to man relations, need to be confronted with utmost severity. Homosexuality is the most unhealthy and unhygienic of all forms of sexual relations, as it carries the highest risk in spreading infections. Syphilis, Gonorrhoea and AIDS — all have started in homosexuals and spread later to heterosexuals. However, distinction has to be made between lesbianism and sodomy. I think lesbianism cannot be recognised as a full sexual activity, as it involves neither penetration nor an exchange of fluids. At the most, it can be described as a form of mutual masturbation. As it does not involve penetration or exchange of fluids, it does not pose such huge risks to life as sodomy. But studies have demonstrated that even lesbianism is responsible for significant reduction in life expectancy and has to be vigorously discouraged. But the punishment for lesbianism cannot be as hard as for sodomy. Gays should be given exemplary punishments, which should however be preceded by a period of intensive counselling and forced abstinence to wean them out of their addiction. Their actions threaten the very survival of mankind.

It is needless to say that the rise in the demand of legalizing homosexuality in the world has intensified with the rising fortunes of gay market. It is already a big market in western countries. The truth is that Sex market as a whole is the largest growing market, and gay market is the largest growing sex market. A report on gay tourism says:

“..They claim since same-sex marriage has been legalized in British Columbia in 2003, Whistler has been the ideal place to get married. They even advertise their own wedding planners, called “Two Dears and a Queer”. And nothing is complete without a full advertisement to honeymooners as well, so after having the wedding, the couple as well as guests can stay to celebrate. Whistler then becomes a one-place stop for every wedding need, and they have event planners and organizers to prepare everything for you, enabling visitors to just be there to escape and have a fun relaxing time. It’s an extremely clever marketing scheme: since the queer community comes here for two main reasons, to visit Whistler or to get married, why not get everything done at one spot?”

In short, according to a commentator, “The US has made a billion dollar industry off of homosexual media — HBO shows, movies, books, magazines. Like most things in the US anything that has the potential to generate profit will be considered15.”

The following arguments are being given in support of homosexuality:

That it exists since antiquity: a fallacious argument because all sins and crimes exist in human society since ancient times. On the contrary, it is right time to try to reduce them rather than glorify them if we want to prove ourselves progressive.

That it is nonsense to object if it is between two consenting adult individuals (as if consent makes every act legal.)

That legalizing homosexuality would mean acceptance of right to life. In fact he exact opposite is true. If institutionalized, it threatens the whole human species; it is a threat to life of those who practice it as well as others who come in their sexual contact.

That it is based on the principle of Freedom of Choice: Freedom of Choice is understandable only if it is the freedom of good choices. Freedom of dangerous choices and death cannot be given to the people.

Normal hygienic and healthy behaviours are important components of civilisation. Perversions cannot be but the antidote of civilisation. The perversions that threaten the lives of individuals and peaceful survival of the most notable natural institution of family cannot be described anything but barbarism at its worst. What can then be said of the “Civilised World” that safeguards, promotes and commercialises the Sexual perversion of the most abominable kind and the most life threatening — the Homosexuality?

The attempt to legalise Homosexuality is nothing but the continuation of the same series of worldwide strategies of “development” in which every human susceptibility is first given a legal and social sanction, then it is glorified in the media as a victory of “Freedom of Choice” and “Human Rights” and then with all the obstacles removed it is commercialized at huge level. But the truth remains that the economics of homosexuality cannot cover for the menace, which homosexuality is. The attempts to legalise homosexuality are shocking. This is like legalising murders, terrorism and rapes. Homosexuality is in fact much more dangerous than any of these, as it has led, leads to and can lead to a much bigger loss of life.

To argue that it will help in the control of AIDS is absolutely nonsense. A little change in the law that ensures care of gay HIV patients (rather than their habits) would have sufficed for that. AIDS cannot be controlled unless there is an effective campaign against prostitution, pornography, homosexuality and promiscuity. It is to be noted that sexual misdemeanours have a much larger depressing effect on life expectancy than other evils like smoking, drinking and gambling. This is because sex related problems affect foetuses and men and women of younger age groups. “Sexual Revolution” is killing either foetuses and infants or the young people of 20–45 years in such big numbers that it is bound to reduce life expectancy by 20–40 years.

By legalising gay marriages, homosexuality is being sought to be institutionalised. Otherwise what can explain why on the one hand marriages in general are being discouraged and on the other hand gay marriages are being aggressively promoted? This is surely aimed at boosting the population of gays. The children growing in the company of their gay “parents” will have bigger chances of succumbing to homosexual tendencies than the normal population. Moreover, these “parents” cannot be a replacement of natural parents. Their love for their “children” is not natural. The affection between parents and children can never be as fruitful as between the natural parents and children; and the probability of child abuse will surely be much greater.

To say that homosexuality is natural is like saying criminal tendencies are natural. These are not natural but human aberrations of most dangerous kind. Such aberrations are present in notorious criminals also. Can the crimes be legalized to help them? Can they be given protection by the law on the ground of not discriminating against persons? Even otherwise, homosexuality is a relationship that does not produce any progeny. So genes if any related to hardcore unadulterated homosexuality cannot be transmitted. Even if it is accepted as natural, it remains an anomaly like many other congenital diseases. The anomalies and diseases need treatment and counselling rather than acceptance and encouragement.

As already explained, homosexuality in West is very much different from that in Asian countries, and this is because Western countries chose to legalise, institutionalize and glorify it. In Asian countries, homosexuality is more often than not an opportunist encounter. Denied marriage after puberty, and girls hard to find, some men would lure young boys into having sex. Once they get married, most if not all would sooner or later give this up. Family pressures, fear of law and society and the desire to have a good family life keep people away from a long term homosexual life. Moreover, in Asian countries, this is normally a one way relationship. There is one who penetrates the other. In the Western world, with the institutionalization and commercialization of homosexuality, and the availability of porn literature and films, homosexuals act both ways; they penetrate and get penetrated. They are made to believe that the kind of sex they are enjoying is not possible in a heterosexual relationship. Soon they become addicts. The relationship between sex and homosexuality is the same as between nutrition and alcohol/drugs. Alcohol/drugs are not part of natural nutrition, but if someone is exposed to them, he or she may soon become addict of it. Homosexuality is an addiction that should be treated both through legal measures (including ban, boycott and detention) and medical treatment for those who seek to change their behaviour. Homosexuality has already become the harbinger of the death of at least 40 million people that have died of AIDS so far. (Promiscuous heterosexuality has also played its part but homosexuality is one of the major killers.) Its legalization will surely lead to more people succumbing to it with greater spread of AIDS and other sex related diseases. There is a need to sexually isolate the HIV infected rather than legalizing homosexuality in the name of AIDS so that they do not spread HIV to others.

There is a difference between “homosexual rights” of humans and “human rights” of homosexuals. The former are unacceptable but the latter should be ensured. Homosexuals need attention: social and medical. They need to be protected from unauthorised punishments by other members of society and they need the psychological support for giving up their habit so that they can join society as normal people. Once there is an effective ban on homosexuality and its commercialisation and institutionalisation, not only new homosexuals will not be produced in as many numbers but the already addicted ones will also find it easier to give up. It should remain a crime for those who want to sustain their habit; but those who want an escape route should be helped. The right to treatment is of course for every human including even the murderers.

Facts and Statistics about Homosexuals

One study reports 70% of homosexuals admitting to having sex only one time with over 50% of their partners,

One study reports that the average homosexual has between 20 and 106 partners per year. The average heterosexual has 8 partners in a lifetime. Many homosexual sexual encounters occur while drunk, high on drugs, or in an orgy setting.

Many homosexuals don’t pay heed to warnings of their lifestyles: “Knowledge of health guidelines was quite high, but this knowledge had no relation to sexual behaviour”.

Homosexuals got homosexuality removed from the list of mental illnesses in the early 70s by storming the annual American Psychiatric Association (APA) conference on successive years. “Guerrilla theatre tactics and more straight-forward shouting matches characterized their presence”.

Since homosexuality has been removed from the APA list of mental illnesses, so has paedophilia (except when the adult feels “subjective distress”).

Homosexuals account for 3–4% of all gonorrhoea cases, 60% of all syphilis cases, and 17% of all hospital admissions (other than for STDs) in the United States.

Homosexuals live unhealthy lifestyles, and have historically accounted for the bulk of syphilis, gonorrhoea, Hepatitis B, the “gay bowel syndrome” (which attacks the intestinal tract), tuberculosis and cytomegalovirus.

73% of psychiatrists say homosexuals are less happy than the average person, and of those psychiatrists, 70% say that the unhappiness is not due to social stigmatization.

25–33% of homosexuals and lesbians are alcoholics.

Of homosexuals questioned in one study reports that 43% admit to 500 or more partners in a lifetime, 28% admit to 1000 or more in a lifetime, and of these people, 79% say that half of those partners are total strangers, and 70% of those sexual contacts are one night stands (or, as one homosexual admits in the film “The Castro”, one minute stands).

Also, it is a favourite past-time of many homosexuals to go to “cruisy areas” and have anonymous sex. 78% of homosexuals are affected by STDs.

Judge John Martaugh, chief magistrate of the New York City Criminal Court has said, “Homosexuals account for half the murders in large cities”.

Captain William Riddle of the Los Angeles Police says, “30,000 sexually abused children in Los Angeles were victims of homosexuals”.

50% of suicides can be attributed to homosexuals.

Dr. Daniel Capron, a practicing psychiatrist, says, “Homosexuality by definition is not healthy and wholesome. The homosexual person, at best, will be unhappier and more unfulfilled than the sexually normal person”.

It takes approximately $300,000 to take care of each AIDS victim, so thanks to the promiscuous lifestyle of homosexuals, medical insurance rates have been skyrocketing for all of us.

Homosexuals were responsible for spreading AIDS in the United States, and then raised up violent groups like Act Up and Ground Zero to complain about it. Even today, homosexuals account for well over 50% of the AIDS cases in the United States, which is quite a large number considering that they account for only 1–2% of the population. Homosexuals account for a disproportionate number of hepatitis cases: 70–80% in San Francisco, 29% in Denver, 66% in New York City, 56% in Toronto, 42% in Montreal, and 26% in Melbourne.

37% of homosexuals engage in sadomasochism, which accounts for many accidental deaths. In San Francisco, classes were held to teach homosexuals how to not kill their partners during sadomasochism.

41% of homosexuals say they have had sex with strangers in public restrooms, 60% say they have had sex with strangers in bathhouses, and 64% of these encounters have involved the use of illegal drugs.

Depending on the city, 39–59% of homosexuals are infected with intestinal parasites like worms, flukes and amoebae, which is common in filthy third world countries.

The median age of death of homosexuals is 42 (only 9% live past age 65). This drops to 39 if the cause of death is AIDS. The median age of death of a married heterosexual man is 75.

The median age of death of lesbians is 45 (only 24% live past age 65). The median age of death of a married heterosexual woman is 79. Homosexuals are 100 times more likely to be murdered (usually by another homosexual) than the average person, 25 times more likely to commit suicide, and 19 times more likely to die in a traffic accident.

21% of lesbians die of murder, suicide or traffic accident, which is at a rate of 534 times higher than the number of white heterosexual females aged 25–44 who die of these things.

50% of the calls to a hotline to report “queer bashing” involved domestic violence (i.e., homosexuals beating up other homosexuals).

About 50% of the women on death row are lesbians.

Homosexuals prey on children

3% of homosexuals ADMIT to minor/adult sex.

There is a notable homosexual group, consisting of thousands of members, known as the North American Man and Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). This is a child molesting homosexual group whose cry is “SEX BEFORE 8 BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.” This group can be seen marching in most major homosexual parades across the United States.

Homosexuals commit more than 33% of all reported child molestations in the United States, which, assuming homosexuals make up 2% of the population, means that 1 in 20 homosexuals is a child molester, while 1 in 490 heterosexuals is a child molester.

73% of all homosexuals have had sex with boys under 19 years of age.

Many homosexuals admit that they are paedophiles: “The love between men and boys is at the foundation of homosexuality”.

Because homosexuals can’t reproduce naturally, they resort to recruiting children. Homosexuals can be heard chanting “TEN PERCENT IS NOT ENOUGH, RECRUIT, RECRUIT, RECRUIT” in their homosexual parades. A group called the “Lesbian Avengers” prides itself on trying to recruit young girls. They print “WE RECRUIT” on their literature. Some other homosexuals aren’t as overt about this, but rather try to infiltrate society and get into positions where they will have access to the malleable minds of young children (e.g., the clergy, teachers, Boy Scout leaders, etc.)16

Legalisation popularises homosexuality

The legalisation leads to commercialisation and the commercialisation is sure to influence the choices of the people. There are nearly 1.2 million gay people living with a same sex partner in America. This is a huge increase from the 1990 census, which identified only 145,000 same sex unmarried households.

According to a report, “The hetero and homo “promiscuity index” (well, actually they called it “sociosexuality” and it didn’t just measure promiscuity but we’re going with promiscuity just the same) as it was dubbed, lists the 15 countries that do the most whoring around as follows18:

The statistics are truly alarming. The legalization of gay marriages, the gay pornography and gay associations are playing havoc with the sexual preferences of the people with the result that increasingly greater numbers of people are succumbing to provocations.

The argument that if there is consent between two adult individuals, what objections can others have to their homosexual liaisons is also fallacious. If consent is the only reason for deciding the criminality or non-criminality of an act, why is bribery by consent a criminal offence? It is well known that in many countries including India, bribe even for genuine reasons is arranged by consent of two or more individuals. Similarly, why is sex determination test of foetus a crime if it takes place between the consent of a woman/couple and a radiologist? And suicide too is a crime though it is an individual’s own choice. If there is consent between two individuals about one helping the other in choosing death, is it not a crime? In Hindu community, according to the current Indian laws, if a man marries another woman with the consent of his wife, why does it constitute crime?

The human rights organisations and other advocates base their campaign in favour of gay rights on the ground of discrimination. This is indeed a fascinating logic. Unfortunately for the activists though, it is equally foolish. The whole fabric of moral and legal institutions is woven around ‘discrimination’. Good and bad cannot be put on the same table. There has to be discrimination between good and bad acts, and between good and bad people. How can law breakers and law abiding citizens be placed in equal footing? How can murderers and common men be treated equally? Even the patients infected with communicable diseases are kept away from the public. How can then people with abnormal sexual behaviours threatening the life and peace of mankind be given the same treatment as given to the normal people who contribute to the health functioning of the humanity. Putting normal with the abnormal will in effect be a discrimination against the normal. Discrimination on the ground of acceptability or unacceptability of behaviours and acts is the essence of equality.

There is a need to define crime. Obviously evilness of an act neither depends on the time or place nor on the consent or choice. Evilness depends on the impact of an act on individual/individuals, family and society. The criminality of an act is proportional to the amount of damage to others. Unfortunately, in today’s world controlled by economics, certain acts are accepted even if they have huge damaging effects, especially if the effects are not instant and dramatic. Homosexuality (and promiscuity of all kinds) has huge damaging effects on (1) the individuals involved (the life expectancy of individuals is considerably shortened, there are a number of physical, mental and social problems) (2) the survival of human species if large sections of people choose to adopt it (3) rest of mankind if gays are also promiscuous (which they are more often than not) and (4) on the lives of the children they choose to adopt exposing them to an unnatural parenthood and parents’ sexual preferences.

The homosexuality needs to be treated at par with drug addiction. Those that choose to get out of this addiction can be de-addicted through rehabilitation centres. The first time caught gays can also be shifted to asylums, and the punishment can be increased in subsequent repetitions. The people who commercialise or institutionalise homosexuality must be severely punished.

LUT (LOT) (AS)

Before concluding this chapter, it will be worthwhile to reproduce here Qur’anic account of the sexual corruption that prevailed at the time of Prophet Lot (AS) and the punishment they received for that. Qur’an says:

The people of Lut rejected the apostles. Behold, their brother Lut said to them: “Will you not fear (God))? I am to you an apostle worthy of all trust. So fear God and obey me. No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. Of all the creatures in the world, will you approach males, and leave those whom God has created for you to be your mates? Nay, you are a people transgressing (all limits)!” (26: 160–166/A)

* We also (sent) Lut: He said to his people: “Do you commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For you practise your lusts on men in preference to women: you are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds.” (7: 80–81/A)

(He said to his people): “Do you indeed approach men, and cut off the highway-and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?” (29: 29/A)

And his people gave no answer but this: they said, “Drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!” (7: 82/A)

But his people gave no answer but this: they said: “Bring us the Wrath of God if you tell the truth.” (29: 29/A)

He said: “I do detest your doings. O my Lord! Deliver me and my family from such things as they do!” (26: 168–169/A)

He said: “O my Lord! Help me against people who do mischief!” When Our Messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said: “We are indeed going to destroy the people of this township: for truly they are (addicted to) crime.” He said: “But there is Lut there.” They said: “Well do we know who is there: we will certainly save him and his following, except his wife: she is of those who lag behind!” (29: 30–32/A)

……he began to plead with Us for Lut’s people. For Abraham was, without doubt, forbearing (of faults), compassionate, and given to look to God. Abraham! Seek not this. The decree of your Lord has gone forth: for them there comes a penalty that cannot be turned back! When Our messengers came to Lut, he was grieved on their account and felt himself powerless (to protect) them. He said: “This is a distressful day.” And his people came rushing towards him, and they had been long in the habit of practising abominations. He said: “O my people! Here are my daughters: they are purer for you (if you marry)! Now fear God, and cover me not with shame about my guests! Is there not among you a single right-minded man?” They said: “Well you do know we have no need of your daughters: indeed you know quite well what we want!” He said: “Would that I had power to suppress you or that I could betake myself to some powerful support.” (The Messengers) said: “O Lut! We are Messengers from thy Lord! By no means shall they reach you! Now travel with your family while yet a part of the night remains, and let not any of you look back: but your wife (will remain behind); to her will happen what happens to the people. Morning is their time appointed: Is not the morning nigh?” When Our Decree issued, We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay, spread, layer on layer,- marked as from your Lord: Nor are they ever far from those who do wrong! (11: 74–83/A)

But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, and We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. Behold! In this are Signs for those who by tokens do understand. And the (cities were) right on the high-road. (15: 73–76/A)

It is interesting to note that the story of Lot has been described even in greater details in Old Testament. The additional part in that story is the repeated pleading by Abraham to Jehovah to spare the twin cities if there were at least some straight people there. From 50, he kept pleading down to 5 people as a condition of averting the scourge, and ultimately it came out that there were not even 5 straight people there that could have saved the city from being destroyed.

It is high time the Islamic World recognised the West’s strategy of turning Muslim heroes into villains. Muslims will have to reject the supremacy of the Big Powers. They will have to pursue their independent course. If they recognise the larger aims of Islam, they would not only be able to bridge the gaps among themselves but will also be able to take other independent nations including India along with them. Being about five dozens in number and the second largest majority of the World, Muslims and Muslim countries can bring the true peace to the world. If other religions including Christianity understand the role of Westernism in decimating religion and its values, even they will not hesitate to join hands. For this to achieve, they will have to unveil the ugly pages of the book of Westernism, every page of which from the beginning to the last is reddened with the blood of the innocents. Sectarianism has no place in Islam; and the campaign of hatred against one another by Sunnis and Shias will have to be stopped if the larger goal is to be achieved.

If you toe our line, howsoever corrupt and dictatorial you are, you will be celebrated as hero. If you try to challenge us through words or actions, howsoever good and honest you are to your people, you will be turned into a despicable villain. This is what the international players have been thinking and doing for last few centuries, America-led West being the major culprit for last few decades. They have a long history of turning Muslim rulers into villains and then trying to remove them in one way or the other. They succeeded in most of the cases but failed in some.

When King Faisal emerged as the powerful man of the Arab and Muslim World in the seventies and embarked upon pan-Islamism and aggressive Oil policy, he was eliminated through an inside murder plot. At one time his popularity in the Muslim World had reached sky high. Such a popular figure with a pan-Islamic ideology could not have been acceptable to West. When General Ziaul Haq of Pakistan started acting smart after helping America dismantling Soviet Union through Afghanistan war and launched Islamisation campaign in his country, he too was made to kiss death through a plane crash. Then came Iran’s Islamic Revolution and Ayatollah Khomeini became the first man in power in recent history to openly challenge America calling it Shaitan-e Buzurg. A propaganda war was unleashed against him, which made him a hated figure throughout the Western world. Saddam Hussein who was a blue-eyed boy of America at that time was beckoned to invade Iran in the hope that the disorganised Iranian army would not be able to bear the assault. But Iranian resistance proved too strong and Saddam had to almost beg for ceasing hostilities. America failed to secure the release of its hostages in Iran. America and Israel had to face a series of debacles against Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy organisation in Lebanon. After 9/11, Osama Laden became the most hated figure and was subsequently killed. In the meantime Mulla Omar was transformed into a mad Mullah and removed within no time. Saddam Hussein was the next target. He was presented as a dangerous tyrant who posed serious threat to the world through his weapons of mass destruction. He was attacked, removed and brutally hanged. Ghaddafi was the next target and was killed within no time. Morsi was toppled in Egypt through Sisi. And of course, Yasser Arafat the Hero of Palestine cannot be forgotten. He remained a constant thorn in the eyes of the West till he died.

In the meantime, the Syrian leader Bashar al Assad became the biggest tyrant of the world whose removal was urgently required to bring “peace” in the Middle East and the larger world. Removing him was necessary because he was considered, along with Iran and Hezbollah, the biggest threat to Israel and American designs in the Middle East. If Iran was to be attacked, Assad would have to be removed first. Rebellion was exported from outside with more than three dozen countries including three nuclear powers and several Arab nations openly supporting the rebels with whatever they required. They thought the war in Syria would be as easy to win as in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. But the Syrian resistance supported by Iranian and Hezbollah fighters again proved too much for the West. When the West found the rebels not doing enough, they oversaw the creation of ISIS, which they thought would be more brutal in their fight against Assad. But when it too failed in Syria and chose to invade Iraq instead, the International Media took no time to turn it into the most dangerous outfit of the world. Still, for more than a couple of years, Islamic State continued to remain a friend in Syria and enemy in Iraq. Things then started changing fast. Iran succeeded in bringing Russia into the picture. The tables now turned fast against the West. The “rebels” as well as the IS started getting thrashed in rapid succession. Aleppo signalled the final victory for Assad and his supporters.

Failed in the war, the international media made a final attempt to mobilise the world opinion against the “tyrant” Assad. Sunni Arab went on to use the time-tested Sunni-Shia card. They never counted Sunni deaths in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya when America with their support killed more than 3.5 million of them. But in Syria they were busy counting Sunni deaths at the hands of Shias. Unfortunately, many in the Sunni world got swayed by the propaganda for whom Assad remains a villain. When the world media ought to discuss the changing political scenario in the Middle East and the larger world, they were focussing only and only on the difficulties faced by the civilians. As always, many videos, the authenticity of which cannot be confirmed, were floated in the media. Had it been the other way around, these would have been labelled as “collateral damage”. But as the victor is not their minion, he had to be rejected as “tyrant”.

Economic Disparity — the Monster that needs to be killed at the earliest-2

The industrialists themselves do not believe in keeping the majority of their money in the banks; they either invest in profitable ventures or convert it into movable or immovable assets, the cost of which keeps on rising. These assets prove to be of great utility in procuring further loans. Their business continues to expand with the help of people’s money and the value of their assets continues to show an upward trend. Inflation, which is the outcome of the conspiracy by the industrialist and their cronies in the government, ensures that whatever they pay as interest on the loans (and taxes) is compensated and whatever the public gets as interest on their money is more or less recruited; inflation recycles the money back to the industrialists. The poor account holders, in effect, get virtually nothing, while with their money the big businessmen and of course the bank owners build palaces and companies. In short, banks have become mere vehicles for transferring wealth from the less-moneyed to the more-moneyed. Businessmen also run big financial companies where again the depositors’ money is used to give loans at much higher rates of interest to those seeking it. Finance companies do not only earn themselves but also help the industries by increase in sales of consumer items of all kinds including vehicles, air conditioners, TVs and refrigerators.

Level of Disparity in India

The economic disparity, both income disparity and wealth disparity, in India is growing at an ever-increasing pace. The general, region to region, urban-rural and community to community, all forms of disparity are growing, and growing fast. Here are some facts given in various reports:

One of the serious problems faced by India’s economy is the alarming growth rate of regional differences among India’s different states and territories in terms of per capita income, socio-economic development, poverty and availability of infrastructure. Economic disparity is easily visible in the country by the fact that 40–50% of the populations in Bihar and Orissa live below the poverty line while states such as Delhi and Punjab exhibit very low poverty ratios. There are in total 7 states of India which are lagging behind in the race of economic growth namely Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. Annual growth rates of different states between 1999 and 2008 strongly reveals economic disparities in the country as per the data Gujarat (8.8%), Haryana (8.7%), or Delhi (7.4%) were much ahead in the race as compared to Bihar (5.1%), Uttar Pradesh (4.4%), or Madhya Pradesh (3.5%). Economic disparity in India can be compared by the fact that growth rates of the states of the single country varies to the greater extent. Rural Orissa (43%) and rural Bihar (40%) stands in the list of states with the poorest growth rates in the world while rural areas of other states of the same country India, lies well among the middle-income countries as rural Haryana (5.7%) and rural Punjab (2.4%).Though the Indian Govt. is constantly trying to improve the economic status of different states by implying different policies and programs yet the issue is of major concern. The five-year plans introduced by the Indian Govt. have proved to be useful in reducing regional disparities. 5 years plan emphasized on encouraging industrial development in the interior regions, but industries still tend to concentrate around urban areas and port cities while on other hand, union and state governments of backward regions are putting their efforts to bring the country under the state of economic equality rather than economic disparity.

Inequality in earnings has doubled in India over the last two decades, making it the worst performer on this count of all emerging economies. The top 10% of wage earners now make 12 times more than the bottom 10%, up from a ratio of six in the 1990s.

The Forbes list of billionaires featured 55 Indians in 2013. Strikingly, when the HDI is adjusted for inequality and every second malnourished child in the world is also an Indian.

There are in total 7 states of India which are lagging behind in the race of economic growth namely Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. As per the recently released Human Development Report (HDR) 2013, India ranked 136th 134th the index loses its value by as much as 29.3 per cent.

Individual income inequality measured by the Gini index has also consistently risen, at 39.9 per cent in 2011. The Indian growth-inequality paradox is easy to pin down — the wealth that India creates is not evenly redistributed.

As per available data, a little more than 50 per cent of India’s population continues to be engaged in agriculture (which barely accounts for 14 per cent of GDP), while less than 30 per cent of the population works in the service sector, which accounts for more than 67 per cent of GDP.

Inequality in access to education is so glaring, that in HDR 2013, India’s education index loses more than 40 per cent of its value once adjusted for inequality. These have to do with misplaced policy priorities of the government that are only aimed at short-term benefits with an eye towards political gain.

Spending and consumption by the richest 5% zoomed up by over 60% between 2000 and 2012 in rural areas while the poorest 5% saw an increase of just 30%. In urban areas, the richest segments spending increased by 63% while the poorest saw an increase of 33%. The effect of inflation was removed while making these comparisons.

For one, the difference in the wealth share held by India’s poorest 10 per cent and the richest 10 per cent is enormous; India’s richest 10 per cent holds 370 times the share of wealth that it’s poorest hold.

India’s richest 10 per cent have been getting steadily richer since 2000, and now hold nearly three-quarters of total wealth.

India’s 1 per centers — its super-rich — have been getting richer even faster. In the early 2000s, India’s top 1 per cent held a lower of share of India’s total wealth than the world’s top 1 per cent held of its total wealth. That changed just before and after the global recession — though the world’s super-rich are recovering — and India’s top 1% holds close to half of the country’s total wealth.

Not surprisingly, India then dominates the world’s poorest 10 per cent, while China dominates the global middle class and the United States the world’s rich.

Apart from the region to region and urban-rural disparity, community to community disparity too has been growing in India with Muslims lagging behind other communities. Even within Hindus, the majority community, the disparity between various caste groups is quite high.

Causes and Solutions

There are multiple factors involved in the rise in economic disparity. Some are well-known, but others are intentionally concealed due to obvious reasons. It is these, which I will deal here:

The role of banks has to be re-examined

One significant step taken for the purpose of monopolising money in the hands of a few was the establishment of the banking system. The banking system — private or nationalised, has hardly helped, despite big claims, to bring about any significant economic betterment of the poor. It has done just the opposite. The little money that the labourers, the artisans, the peasant the clerks, the lower middle class people and the upper middle class servicemen are able to save by curbing their desires and curtailing even some essential expenses is mostly deposited in the banks. The businessmen get hold of this mammoth money, (which becomes mammoth because it is contributed by millions and billions of peoples) in the form of loans to establish mills, factories, agencies, departmental stores and companies. With this money, they earn huge profits, ranging sometimes from 50 to 300%. A very small portion, usually between 8- 15%, of what they amass is given back as interests to the banks, and a smaller portion, 4- 10 %, of that interest is distributed among the real owners of that money. This small interest is used as a decoy to trap the naive commoners. The common people have no other option as their money is not big enough to be turned into an asset (gold, property) or to set up any business, and the security problems compel them to put their hard-earned money into the reservoirs of banks. If the ordinary people even contemplate to start their own business with the assistance of bank loans, they either fail to fetch it on account of their inability to submit sureties or if at all they succeed in getting some loans, they have to run the great risk of getting entangled into a debt-trap; for their incomes are usually not high enough to simultaneously fulfil their routine requirements and pay regular instalments to the bank. In case their business fails, the probabilities of which are considerably high in the face of hard competition with the big businessman, they do not have sufficient financial backing to make up for the losses. They often have to clear their loans by selling whatever little assets they have. So, in effect, even if it is conceded that the banks do often give loans to small businessmen and professionals, it often ends up in their losing whatever wealth they had.

Moreover, the loans too are more likely to be given for activities that ultimately benefit the big industry, like for purchasing cars, motorbikes and other electronic items. The private banks, wherever they exist, accentuate this upward mobility; for, while the incomes from the nationalised banks is utilised, at least, partially for the welfare activities, the whole profits of the private banks are credited to the owners. The industrialists themselves do not believe in keeping the majority of their money in the banks; they either invest in profitable ventures or convert it into movable or immovable assets, the cost of which keeps on rising. These assets prove to be of great utility in procuring further loans. Their business continues to expand with the help of people’s money and the value of their assets continues to show an upward trend. Inflation, which is the outcome of the conspiracy by the industrialist and their cronies in the government, ensures that whatever they pay as interest on the loans (and taxes) is compensated and whatever the public gets as interest on their money is more or less recruited; inflation recycles the money back to the industrialists. The poor account holders, in effect, get virtually nothing, while with their money the big businessmen and of course the bank owners build palaces and companies. In short, banks have become mere vehicles for transferring wealth from the less-moneyed to the more-moneyed. Businessmen also run big financial companies where again the depositors’ money is used to give loans at much higher rates of interest to those seeking it. Finance companies do not only earn themselves but also help the industries by increase in sales of consumer items of all kinds including vehicles, air conditioners, TVs and refrigerators. The insurance companies are also booming; these companies are able to compete with banks, because they cash in on the personal fears of the people. The common men are always wary of accidents and sudden deaths, and to ensure financial safety for their survivors, they oblige the insurance company despite the fact that these companies often pay inter­ests even less than what the banks do.

It is also important to note here that banks can normally do a business ten times of the deposits they have. This is because Central Banks can provide them ten times the money they have as their deposits and also because the loan amounts given to the people are also mostly kept in the banks before being used. This means that if a depositor deposits 100 dollars in a bank, the bank can be earning 60–90 dollars from that money in one year. And out of this the poor depositor gets just 5–10 dollars, 4 to 10 percent being the normal “interest” in different categories. More often than not, this gain does not even cover the annual inflation rate. The net gain to the depositor is almost none. And when the depositor happens to be a Muslim, the clerics tell him that these few dollars are Haram for him, as they are “interest” forbidden by Islam. Instead of banks being told to give a substantial portion of their earnings to the depositors, depositors are told not to use this money for their personal needs; even if they give it to the poor, this money will neither be included as any form of charity nor should they hope for any reward in the Hereafter.

Furthermore, banks continue to take steps that increase their earnings at the cost of ordinary people. The charges on the bounced checks, the way the interests are adjusted in the repaid amounts; the maintenance charges for several kinds of accounts, the interest rates given to the depositors and the interests taken from the loanees, especially in the case of the loans taken by the ordinary people — all these issues need to be re-examined. It has to be calculated how much of the money of the banks directly benefit the ordinary people without benefiting the corporate. It will be seen below that the role of the banks in the flow of money — from below upwards or from above downwards, depends on the tax structure that exists in the country.

It can be seen that the international banking sector is a big vehicle in the upward transfer of money from the less moneyed to the more. It helps the big business by (a) giving them loans that help them swell their coffers; (b) giving loans to the common people for buying the luxurious products, which again help the big business; and © helping them in preserving their immovable assets, the value of which increases with higher rate than the rate of interest.

Today’s world can be called a world where economic fundamentalism rules which implies supremacy of economics in all the affairs of the world. With the fall of Soviet Union, economic fundamentalism has taken the form of Corporate Fundamentalism where Corporate World has become the virtual leader of the world. All the governmental, non-government, national as well as international institutions are directly or indirectly under its control. The growth models adopted by countries including India are largely aimed at realizing the interests of the Corporate. The result is that the wealth produced is being distributed in a way that economic disparity is multiplying much faster than the real growth. The truth is that the “growth” today in effect means nothing but the growth of the market, without any consideration to its impact on the masses, which are more negative than positive. Absolute poverty may be decreasing but the economic disparity is increasing the relative poverty in the country. Obviously the communities and sections of society that are poor are the biggest sufferers. Under these circumstances, a decrease in the absolute poverty level has hardly any significance.

It is high time the role of Big Business and the institutions created by the modern economic order were re-examined so that the adverse effects of the current economic model could be reversed. But before discussing the implications and solutions, let us understand what Economic Disparity means, how it is measured, and what the levels of global and Indian disparity are.

According to popular definition, Economic inequality or Disparity is an indicator of the gap between the rich and the poor and comprises disparities in the distribution of economic assets (wealth) and income within individuals of a country or region, between regions or between various groups based on religion, caste, class or culture. The term typically refers to inequality among individuals and groups within a society, but can also refer to inequality among countries. While an absolute economic equality is impossible, the extreme forms of disparity are dangerous for society, and need to be addressed for the sake of the larger population. The issue of economic inequality involves various issues including the ideas of equity, equality of outcome, equality of opportunity, the causes and factors leading to the widening disparity and the solutions. Certain forces of economics have of course been supporting the idea of economic inequality on various grounds, most of which are aimed at perpetuating their hold on economy and other power centres.

Observers differ on both the morality and utility of inequality, whether, and/or how much inequality is necessary in society and how it can be affected. It has been praised as necessary and beneficial, mainly by the proponents of capitalistic systems, and attacked as a growing social problem, mainly by the sociologists but also by the followers of different religions and other ideologies.

Disparity may broadly be divided into Income Disparity and Wealth Disparity. Obviously, if the Income Disparity continues, in absence of any corrective measures, the Wealth Disparity will grow bigger and bigger.

Differences in national income equality around the world are measured by the national Gini coefficient. The Gini coefficient is a number between 0 and 1, where 0 corresponds with perfect equality (where everyone has the same income) and 1 corresponds with perfect inequality (where one person has all the income, and everyone else has zero income).

Economic Disparity is a global phenomenon but certain countries including India have much greater disparities than others and are also more severely affected with serious consequences on the social fabric.

Global Economic Disparity

The global economic disparity can be judged by the following facts:

The chart shows that the top .001% (91 thousand people) hold 30 pc of the wealth, the next .01% (800 thousand people) 19 pc and the next .1% hold 30 pc, which means that .111 pc of the people hold 81 pc of the wealth. Bottom 99.9 pc hold barely 19 pc.

2. According to a study entitled “Divided we Stand: Why Inequality Keeps Rising” by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

“Income inequality in OECD countries is at its highest level for the past half century. The average income of the richest 10% of the population is about nine times that of the poorest 10% across the OECD, up from seven times 25 years ago.”

In the United States inequality has increased further from already high levels.

“Other traditionally more egalitarian countries, such as Germany, Denmark and Sweden, have seen the gap between rich and poor expand from 5 to 1 in the 1980s, to 6 to 1 today.”

3. A study by the World Institute for Development Economics Research at United Nations University reports that the richest 1% of adults alone owned 40% of global assets in the year 2000. The three richest people possess more financial assets than the lowest 48 nations combined. The combined wealth of the “10 million dollar millionaires” grew to nearly $41 trillion in 2008.

4. Over the two decades prior to the onset of the global financial crisis, real disposable household incomes increased an average of 1.7% a year in its 34 member countries. However, the gap between rich and poor widened in most nations — the OECD journalist resource (2011–05) entitled “Growing Income Inequality in OECD Countries” states that with the exceptions of only France, Japan and Spain, wages of the 10% best-paid workers have risen relative to those of the 10% least-paid workers and the differential between the top and bottom 10% varies greatly from country to country: “While this ratio is much lower in the Nordic countries and in many continental European countries, it rises to around 14 to 1 in Israel, Turkey and the United States, to a high of 27 to 1 in Chile and Mexico.”

The worst forms of course are prostitution and pornography that have become big industries. If mankind is to be saved from death, diseases, distress and destruction, an end will have to be brought to the commer­cialisation of sex without any further delay. This monster cannot be tolerated in a civilised society. It has to be chained at the earliest and permanently demolished. Steps have to be taken at the international level with an earnestness of purpose that requires all the states, organisations and men of morals to contribute in their respective ways. Only a concerted, well-organised and co-ordinated fight can successfully challenge the merchants of sex.

Declare sexual exploi­tation in all forms illegal all over the world

The first step that has to be taken is to declare sexual exploi­tation in all forms illegal all over the world. Resolutions to this effect must be duly passed in the United Nations and other international forums. The world must clearly know that human beings including women and children are not meant for sexual abuse. The feminist groups, if they are genuinely interested in the welfare of women, must rise and pressure international organisations to take all the possi­ble steps to thwart the designs of the merchants of sex.

The owners of brothels and the middlemen must be severely pun­ished; the clients visiting brothels or soliciting call girls must also be penalised and their names made public. Prosti­tution is so heinous a crime and its adverse impacts on health (of the sex workers as well as clients), family peace and social order are so dangerous that the owners of brothels and middlemen deserve no less punishment than hanging in full public view. But before putting that into prac­tice, a period of amnesty should be given during which time (that must not be more than a few months) they must wound up. Prostitutes must be dealt with compassion, and efforts should be made to rehabilitate them so that they can lead a happy family life. (The method for this is discussed elsewhere.)

The arguments that it is impractical to ban prostitution and it would continue despite ban are fallacious. Similar logic is not given in relation to the population control, which is an infinite­ly bigger problem than controlling the flesh trade. The truth is that the real problem is not in the impracticability but the lack of will to eradicate it. If there is a will and the world de­cides to put an end to it, there is no reason why it cannot be brought to a negligible level. The question of legalising the flesh trade does not arise. There cannot be a bigger travesty of justice than the idea that women sell their body under the legal umbrella only to ensure that their male customers do not contact certain diseases. I wonder when women would realise that the modern era is more male chauvinistic than ever before. Never before in the world women had been slaves of men’s desires in such numbers as now. There are others who argue that poverty must first be removed if women have to be stopped from falling prey to the flesh traders. This is only a ploy to perpetuate ‘the business’. Prostitution is more dangerous than poverty and has no direct relation to it. There are several rich countries where the flesh trade is running at a very big scale. And there are many poor countries where prostitution is uncommon. While the poverty alleviation programmes must be pursued at war footing, at the same time, all possible loopholes in the legal and executive set-up must be plugged to bring an end to the ugliest trade.

Tourism

Tourism has been thriving in recent years vastly on commercial sex. Visitors are lured with the prospects of sharing moments on the beaches with beautiful, scantily clad women and having “sexiest” partners as bedfellows. Tourism industry has to be cleansed of all this filth. To make people enjoy the beauty of nature, unhealthy practices must not be promoted. It may cause a temporary loss to the market of tourism; but once sex market becomes unavailable all over the world, healthier methods to attract visitors would bring the life back to the industry. Even if the desired results are not achieved, commercial profits will have to be sacrificed to pre­serve the sanctity of women, protect health and safeguard the institution of marriage. Life and honour of people in general are much more important than the coffers of a few merchants.

Pornography

Prostitution and promiscuity are promoted by pornography. Pornog­raphy survives on prostitution, because if women are not avail­able for acting in these films (in case prostitution is effec­tively banned) or for posing nude before the camera, it would automatically scale down. Pornography fans sexual frenzy. To alleviate promiscuity from society, pornography, in all its forms including eroticism, has to be effectively banned. No man or woman must be permitted to appear naked at any place other than in absolute privacy. Strict dress code has to be formulated for men as well as women. Freedom of nakedness in public must be eschewed because its effects are not confined to the person appearing naked. It activates electrifying signals in the bodies of all the watchers intensifying their sexual appetite. Needless to say that nakedness breeds promiscuity; promiscuity leads to the commercialisation of sex, which invariably means the commer­cial exploitation of women and children; and the commercialisation of sex threatens the very survival of human beings as individual, as family and as society.

Pornography has no place in a civilised society. It is extremely detrimental to the normal functioning of individuals as well as families. It turns humans into beasts and normalises abnormal and perverse behaviour. It instigates the watchers to go sexually berserk and vent their sexual frenzies in whatever way they can. It denudes love making of any element of love and converts it into an unalloyed and unadulterated sex. Pornography is the most sophisticated arsenal in the armoury of the devil. Through it the devil takes full control of human sentiments that then refuse to distinguish between right and wrong. It kills men and women in a way that they do not even know it. It is a poison that begins to act instantly and continues to damage for long. It pulverises conscience and readies a man to rape. Acquaintances are often the targets. It bedevils men who feel inclined to have a lustful desire for even their mothers, sisters and daughters. It demonises even some women who respond favourably to advances of their friends. It makes them bare themselves and offer to whatever men desire from them. Under its effect, men and women tend to forget what the consequences of their actions would be. Pornography makes the people believe in the enjoyment of actions that in fact have nothing to enjoy. It makes men penetrate the animals. It makes one like one’s own sex more than the other. It even makes men believe that sex with children is more delightful than with adults. The wine of porn is much more deadly in effect than the wine of grapes. If the world has to be saved from the monster of uninhibited sex promoted by the merchants, pornography will have to be crushed at the first go. People argue and will continue to argue that it would be difficult to eradicate its menace for variety of reasons. This is only a ploy to keep things going. Once the decision is taken at the international level to uproot it, there are hundreds of ways to flush out the culprits. It is always impossible to achieve a hundred per cent result; but if it is attacked with the ruthlessness needed to combat such a huge and colossal menace, there is no reason why it cannot be minimised.

Oral sex needs some elaboration, as it has become so common now especially in West that men and women will not accept any curbs on it. Generally people do not regard it hazardous to health. Though it is true that it is not as hazardous as anal sex but it is wrong to assume that it is perfectly safe. Studies have clearly indicated that oral sex poses certain risks. According to HRPC, Herpes is the biggest risk associated with oral sex. While it can cause a lesion in the mouth itself, the more distressing is the genital Herpes that can be passed from the oral to genital route. In the US, more than a fourth of the people have Herpes. Oral sex clearly increases the chances and extent of Herpes. Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea can cause painful infectious lesions in the mouth. If fluids spill to eye, severe eye infections may be caused which are serious problems. HIV can also pass through oral sex. HPV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B can also be passed to the mouths. Oral to anal route is particularly dangerous in the transmission of Hepatitis B. HRPC clearly says, “Limiting exposure to semen reduces risk of infection, so ejaculation away from partner’s body is the safest. That said, the mouth is the place most likely to contract something like HIV, so the conventional wisdom is, “swallow or spit, just don’t let it sit13.” In an article, captioned, “Oral Sex threat underestimated”, Lisa Klay reported that, in 8% of Gay cases of HIV, oral route was the likely route of transmission14. She quoted a CDC press release that stated, “researchers have found evidence that a significant percentage of new HIV infections in some groups of men who have sex with men are due to oral sex, a mode of transmission too often regarded as posing little or no risk.” She also quoted Gayle as saying “oral sex is equated with safe sex. However, for the individuals in this study, and for countless others, this false assumption has led to tragic lifelong consequences.” The report quoted Mayer as saying, “It still comes back to: If you have no way of knowing your partner’s [HIV] status, you put yourself at some substantial risk if you engage in some behaviour repeatedly and without protection.” A recent study from Texas indicated that the risk of transmission through oral sex increases as the volume of ejaculate increases. Mouth should not be allowed to become a receptacle for fluids. If this can be avoided, oral sex is not much of a risk though one case of HIV has been reported in whom the HIV passed through pre-ejaculate fluid. This can be safely concluded that it would be better to avoid oral sex; but if the couple is desperate for it, the ejaculation must be avoided as far as possible in the mouth. Furthermore, as mouth is not the natural receptacle for ejaculate fluids, there will therefore always remain the possibility of oral sex becoming a dangerous cause of some sex-related diseases in future.

With the Aleppo victory for Assad, the death-knell has been sounded for the West and its hegemony. Not able to digest what is happening, it is indulging in the media campaign highlighting the “bloodshed”. They never counted the dead when they killed more than 2 million in Iraq. They did not count either when they killed hundreds of thousands in Afghanistan and Libya. But since the “rebellion” planted by them in Syria started failing, they are busy in counting the dead. Instead of blaming them and their supporters for the majority of death, they blame Assad alone for the bloodshed. The truth is that the number of deaths on the Assad’s side is no less than the rest, and out of the rest a large number are rebels themselves. Nobody asks them why they sent weapons and militants to change a regime. They killed Saddam Hussein. They killed Ghaddafi. With failure in Syria, they will now not find it easy any more to attack a Muslim country with impunity.

This was what I had written in an article published in Siasat on 8th October:

“Syria is on the brink of becoming for America what Afghanistan proved to be for Soviet Union in 1970s. Soviet Union fell soon after its ouster from Afghanistan and America has since then boasted of as the only superpower. Less than 50 years on, the cycle has reversed. Only the country of confrontation has changed. This time it is Syria; and Russia is playing to America what America did to it in Afghanistan. It was about three years back that I had predicted this in my write up, “If America attacks Syria, the World Can again become Bipolar” published in Milligazzette (Aug 28, 2013) and several other newsportals, I had written:

“The problem is that Russia and China have taken a much tougher stand against American threats than they have done any time before in the last three decades. The Iranian angle makes things worse. The US and its Western allies fear that if they go ahead with their military plan, what remains an informal alliance of Russia, China and Iran, can suddenly become formal. Nobody asks them why they sent weapons and militants to change a regime. They killed Saddam Hussein. They killed Ghaddafi. With failure in Syria, they will now not find it easy any more to attack a Muslim country with impunity.

Unfortunately, the Sunni World seems to have fallen in the trap of the international conspiracy, which is aimed at creating discord between Sunnis and Shias. They did not count the Sunnis killed by America in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya. When it comes to Syria (or Iraq following the America-led war), they have started talking in terms of Sunnis and Shias.

The fall of Aleppo is sure to signal a route of departure for West and its allies. Their hegemony has lasted too long. It is the time to end it. Despite all its efforts since Iranian Revolution, it has failed to defeat Iran. The challenge for Iran is now how to stop the Sunni-Shia divide. If it fails in bridging the gap, the Revolution will sooner or later fail; if it succeeds, a peaceful Islamic Revolution will envelop the world in next two decades. It has also to ensure that Russia does not try to become what America has been in last seven to eight decades. It is important for the Muslim world not to fall in the trap of the superpowers.

The most urgent need of the time is a truce between Saudi Arab and Iran. Both must understand that if they remain divided, nothing will stop their ultimate downfall. If they unite, the truth will prevail. Instead of blaming each other, they must try to find out ways to face the developing situation with wisdom. They have to prove to the world that they seek to bring peace to the world but the dream of world peace cannot be realised without lasting peace in the Muslim world.

Though it is very easy to say, and it is what is being repeatedly said for quite some time that Muslims have failed in proving themselves, the truth also remains that even in what we are able to follow there is plenty of lesson for the mankind. Instead of always trying to discuss the negatives, we should also be able to highlight our positives. Introspection is good but creating a negative image in the name of introspection is something that now needs to be discarded. While the West and all other ideologies keep projecting themselves in the best shades, burying all that is negative in their method and its impact; Muslims are busy negating their positive features. While non Muslims attack Muslims and Islam in order to vanquish them so that their own objectives can be achieved without much resistance, Muslims fail to see and present their positive sides, which despite several weaknesses, are much more glaring than what the Western and other civilisations can offer or boast of. Introspection is generally a healthy sign, but if it becomes a means to afflict a whole community with an inferiority complex of huge amount, the method of “introspection” itself needs introspection.

The time now has come when Muslims must come out of the inferiority complex, which they have been suffering from, in recent years. They must know that despite all their weaknesses they are still better than others in most respects, at least in respect of things that matter most in real life. They must know the real face of what the Westernists are promoting: New World Order. And they must develop confidence and resolve to promote Islamic paradigm of World Order, which I call Natural World Order.

The globe of New World Order is rapidly developing into nothing but a fireball of chaos. It is hardly surprising then that

More than 1 million people are murdered every year. (More than 240 million people lost lives in wars in the last century)

More than 2 million people commit suicides

More than 5 million people die of sex related diseases (more than 20 million have died of AIDS in recent years). More than 100 million suffer from sex transmitted diseases (42 million from HIV/AIDS).

More than 2.2 million die of alcohol related problems. (More than a hundred million suffer from alcohol related illnesses.)

More than 5 million die of smoking related problems. (More than 2000 millions smoke.)

More than 70 million children are not allowed to take birth and are aborted.

Hundreds of millions indulge in gambling. 500 million are now using Internet alone for gambling. (In US alone, 20 millions show some signs of gambling addiction and 2 million divorces had gambling as a significant factor.)

Tens of millions of women are in prostitution and other sex related businesses (more than one million Americans alone have served as prostitutes)

More than 1.2 million of children are exploited annually in prostitution and other sex trades

More than 800 million watch pornography

Millions of homes are broken every year

Millions of women are raped every year; in many Western countries one tenth to half of all women have been raped (The total number of women who have been raped at least once is in hundreds of millions)

Sexual abuse of children is on the rise all over the world; in many Western countries up to one third of all people have been sexually abused in their childhood

Drug addiction is also persistent; tens of millions of people are addicted of harmful drugs

Civil wars, wars and riots for various reasons are also not showing any remarkable decline, consuming thousands of lives every year

Economic disparity between different countries and people of the world and among the people of the same countries is continuously growing; poverty may be on the decline but relative poverty is showing steep rise.

Islam does not rule the current world with the result that chaos prevails, as is evident from the figures cited above. Muslims of the current world have adopted Islam partially. This partial application has deprived them of the peace in its entirety. Still they are in a much better state of peace than the people living in the so-called developed world are. This is evident from the fact that they have

One of the lowest rates of murders

Almost negligible incidence of suicides

Very low rates of rapes

Negligible consumption of alcohol and alcohol-related deaths and other problems

Very low rate of gambling related problems

Extremely low level of family break-ups

Extremely low number of prostitutes and pornographic actors among them

Negligible level of sexual abuse of children

Very low incidence of sex-related, alcohol related and gambling related diseases

Relatively low incidence of drug addiction

Relatively low incidence of psychiatric illnesses

Relatively very low level of the consumption of sedatives and tranquillisers

Very low incidence of single parents, negligible number of children born out of wedlock

Relatively much lower level of promiscuity and other sexual perversion.

Very low level of abortions including teenage pregnancies, etc

Relatively low incidence of several diseases including Cancers of Penis and Cervix (due to circumcision), sex transmitted diseases, Urinary Tract Infections, other cancers due to alcohol, etc.

Agenda for Muslims

The Agenda of Dawah must not remain limited to invite people to the institution of Islam. In addition, it should involve presentation of Islam as a Comprehensive System capable of leading the Mankind to peace and prosperity. Dawah strategy must therefore be comprehensive. Some of the highlights of the Dawah must be as follows:

Start Ideological aggression against the Western and other un-Islamic ideologies by showing their impact on society

Stop always and only blaming ourselves for our sufferings. Introspection must be supplemented with focus on External factors.

Stop feeling Inferior. Show to the world that despite many shortcomings and not following Islam the way it demands, Muslims are far more civilised than others.

Stop being defensive, apologetic and defeatist. Attack the False ideologies that are based on economic exploitation, suppression and injustice.

Stop toeing the lines of the Western thinkers

Befriend Western people and make them aware about the designs of their political and economic masters and their impact on society

Develop good relations with all religions, particularly Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism, but don’t try to dilute Islamic principles in order to appease them . Their slanders against Islam can easily be answered by citing their own scriptures and making comparative studies.

Take all religions with you and wage a full-fledged war against commercialisation of evils particularly gambling, alcohol, smoking and sexual misdemeanours and unhealthy sexual practices.

Take left forces along with you in the fight against injustices at the international level. (Cooperate in good and piety, and do not cooperate in sin and enmity. (5:2)

Develop highest levels of science and technology but do not misuse them for the commercialisation of evils.
