Overall, I'm glad (if slightly scarred) that we, as well as the characters, saw Occtis die. It could have been easy to come to terms with him just being kind of creepy and dead if he started this way, but there is such a sense of grief when Brennan says Occtis will never get to catch his breath again. Even though Alex planned to go with hollow one, in universe it feels like Occtis was robbed of so much. If he started as undead then it would be a shame, but because it happened live in game, it felt preventable, which is what pushes it into tragedy for me
