Alright everyone. Say it with me. None scripted comedy content based around an TTRPG will not always have the same narrative cohesion than scripted content and that's fine.
The main goal of a TTRPG is having fun with your friends. That will always take priority. If you are watching an actual play show you need to either accept that not all narrative decisions will be thought through, especially if the campaign is a Sandbox and you need to accept that mistakes and misjudgements happen or you need to exercise your free will and stop engaging with that sort of content.
Brennan Lee Mulligan is a human being with human capacity thinking on his feet while everyone around him is doing ridiculous things.
The Finale of CCOD was fun. It does not need to be a literary master piece and if you walked in with some grand expectations when you clearly could tell things would end in a chaotic mess last episode already that's honestly mostly on you.
This isn't a case where Brennan completely undermined or contradicted the narrative focus of the campaign. Things fell to the wayside because it's an improve show where they were playing a system they didn't know with a sandbox setting they never attempted with significantly fewer episodes than they usually plan for.
Also can we all just stop with the Beardsley hate? It's getting old. Yes they like to do ridiculous bits, yes they take them too far sometimes, no you are not allowed to bitch about it you don't know them you chose to engage with media featuring them and if it really bothered anybody at the table they would have talked to them about it like 5 years ago. You are allowed to not find them funny but you are exercising your free will to consume media knowing full well they are like that. Ally is not a problem player you just project your own priorities onto people you have never met.
