She wandered down the tunnel until she reached a number of abandoned subway carts. Nx wasn't really sure why those carts had been abandoned here, she presumed it was another case of “out of sight out of mind.” but she wouldn't complain, it was nice to have a more comfortable place to crash while her mother wasn't doing well.
She approached the one she marked with a hello kitty sticker Naomi had given her a while ago and pulled on the string she had looped around the door handle – which had been rather difficult for her mind you! – opening the door to her little apartment below the city.
The inside of the cart was half stripped. All seats were removed from one side of it while the other was lined with polstered benches. Nx wondered what must have happened for it to be left in that state when she first found it but counted herself lucky for the extra space.
She had utilized it by hanging up some of her drawings and some polaroid pictures she had taken with Naomi. She didn't like taking pictures of herself, but Naomi was nice to her and she said those were just for the two of them, so they were part of Nx's treasures.
She made her way over to one particular bench, her “nest” as Conrad had dubbed it. There was a blanket, a small tourch, some of her school books and her sports bag with her dance shoes inside as well as some trinkets. A small Tiger plushie was tugged into the blanket.
“Excellent job securing the castle Sir. Tibbers, thank you for your service.” She said to the toy, giving him a small salute.
She made herself comfortable on the bench putting sir Tibbers into her lab before taking her remaining homework out.
She wondered if she could get electricity down here eventually.
She frowned.
She shouldn't think about that. Her mother would get better soon.
