Crown me with flowers, the queen of

redemption, the queen of new days

dawning. I grip hope like a lifeline curling

in and out of time. An eternal anchor

to that which I love, which I love alone.

Queen of the underworld, of cold

and of gray. I live to serve another way.

Through the shadows of doubt I become

unborn, unbent, and unbroken - rising like

Venus from the seas. Birthed from a shell

crafted from wonder and light. Reminiscent

of the moon versus the sun

we coil around each other in the midst

of endless days and nights, freefalling

and born again in the image of our creator.

Say my name and I’ll be called to you

summoned past cosmic boarders to stand at

your side through the end of days. The queen of

redemption, the queen of spite rendered

sacred, of springs new found and past -

is your laugh an instinctive defence of repression

when she smiles at you

because i still wake from nightmares

where her best friend bracelet bleeds me dry

for somehow the disloyal secret is spilt

drowning me in my palace of lies

how long will we keep playing this game

of charades and hide and seek all in one

where the dream of winning is sinning

but the price of losing is friendship undone
