There’s so many moments in life where we’d just want to hit the “reset button”. Whether it’s past regrets, relationships, pain, disappointments, things you wish didn’t happen, happened or moments where you wish you’d “known better” and “weren’t so blinded”. You’re conflicted between being glad you can learn from the past but a pang of regret and fear kicks in that you could’ve done better, been better. Sometimes those moments are so external and out of your control that they affect you so greatly and incomprehensible but you find yourself being pushed to adjust to a “new normality”. Someone once told me that “no matter how your past looks like, either it “had to happen” or “it happened” the only thing you can do is reset yourself.” Resetting yourself to new adjustments takes time and it doesn’t discard your past but you end up growing through it with resilience and hope whilst being gracious and forgiving yourself along the way. You’re giving yourself a “do-over” & reaching towards the best/better version of who God created you to be. Clinging onto the belief that there are always new things when we shake those old rags off and finding restoration in Him. You find yourself expecting “big, grand, drastic changes” when all it requires are steps: steps to love yourself, to find joy from within, being able to, surround yourself with those who lift you up and having the courage to step away from things that consume too much of your time and mind. It’s time to let go and be thankful for what the past taught you, pick yourself up and continue the journey towards your destination. ✨As always sunsets signify new beginnings for me, so here’s one of my faves from 2017! 💫 “See, I will create new heavens and a new earth.
