when you loved me so?

why can’t i love anybody anymore?

to live in a mistake…

was i the unlikeable one? i thought so at first

or i may be flawed in a different sense

maybe i’m not capable of loving anyone at all

a possibility that nestles itself into bones and

gives deep harrowing dread like

nothing is alright anymore

and what once made sense is now breathing heavily, alive and unsettled from its place

like raindrops falling into muddy puddles

and distorting the reflection within it

how long can one carry hope in their lungs before they are forced to exhale?

before the tar decays my teeth

and i am bereft of all feeling

ready to be molded like clay

by some self absorbed person

who will not speak to me as their equal

and maybe i will not speak at all

yes, that sounds nice.

for what more do i have to say?

i gave all of myself off bit by bit

oh, it feels nice to be loved by everyone
