When Vought created Homelander, they couldnât bet their image on just one amped up supe. Thatâs how you came to be. While John grew up to be their good little deranged psychopath, you grew to be a problem. Technically, both of you were a problem, but John was more manageable. You rebelled against them, often putting Vought scientists on the brink of death.
Your rebellion kept you out of the spotlight and eventually landed you in a cold dark box in a far-off Vought facility.
They couldnât get you to work with them, which wouldâve made you expendable if it werenât for you, being a nearly genetically identical version of your brother. That was your redeeming quality. All you were good for to Vought was a quick plan B.
Thankfully you wouldnât have to see the day they use you for whatever they needed âplan Bâ for.
When you woke, it was with a jolt, gasping and panting. Your gaze was hazy as you tried to look around. Wherever you were, it surely didnât seem anything to do with VoughtâŠ. Unless they had gone deep into poverty during your little nap. Momentâs later, the door opened. A ruggish man stood in the doorway. âSunshines up.â He commented with a grin, one that twinged on unsettling.
âWhoâŠ.â You rasped, voice barely there. You thought you caught something about him being a âBilly Butcherâ but you werenât too sure, everything still fuzzy. He snapped his fingers at you, trying to get your attention. It seemed like a lost cause when your eyes fluttered shut and you fell back, slipping back into unconsciousness.
The next time you woke, you werenât alone. A woman sat at your bedside, quiet and eyes closed. She looked gentle, kind. It wasnât something you knew much of. You observed her until her eyes flicked open, feeling your stare. âYouâre awake.â She stated the obvious. You didnât say anything. She grabbed a water bottle that had been brought in for you, unscrewing itâs cap. âThirsty?â She prompted, assisting you when you nodded. You leaned up just enough for her to tip the bottle and give you a sip. Instead of a sip, you just chugged, chugging until there was nothing left. It surprised her a little but she chose not to comment on it. She adjusted the pillow under your head slightly before getting up and leaving the room. It wasnât long before a thinner man entered the room, coming to take her place. He told you his name was Hughie. He was hoping you werenât another Kimiko. Kimiko was nice, but the mute thing was challenging. When you finally rasped out your name, he nodded.
He sat with you for at least the next hour talking your ear off. Heâd just got done talking to you about Homelander when Butcher entered. Heâd just gotten back from an outing and wanted to come check in on their little Vought Reject. âFilling her in on the cunt, Hughie?â He asked. Hughie was about to respond when another figure showed up. This one you didnât need to be introduced to, you know this dipshit well. âKid forgot to mention how much of a sniveling pussy he is.â Fucking Soldier Boy stood there, stripped down to just some ragged civie clothes. The tension when he showed his face was immediately noticeable. Hughie seemed confused, while butcher just observed. Heâd dove into your files as much as he couldâve. He knew Soldier Boy was mentioned quite a few times.
Soldier boy wasnât stupid, he felt the shift when he popped up. âWhat?â He prompted, brows furrowing as he watched this sick look twist and morph on your face. His instincts were on point because as soon as he moved, listening to his gut, Firey hot lasers shot from your eyes, burning through the air, burning through where Soldier Boy wouldâve been.
Hughie reeled back, Billy slightly doing the same, but his grin somehow finding new heights on his stupid fucking face. âOkay, what the fuck?â Soldier Boy exclaimed once you cut it out. Soldier Boy looked taken aback, which was rare.
Guess that was one thing Butcher forgot to share- Their new asset was the genetically identical twin of Americaâs top psychopath.
Soldier Boy heavily eyed you, trying to understand you. Hughie had slipped away as Butcher began to explain. âThis sunshine here, is our Plan B.â Plan B. Plan A had been for soldier boy to counter Homelander, but it wasnât enough. By some twisted luck of fate, Butcher had found old hidden files on you. They were about as hard to find as Soldier Boy was, BUT, he found you. He found you and the crew had helped secure you. You were a much easier secure with not trying to kill anyone the moment they pulled you out, instead just taking a good nap over MMâs shoulder till they got you to the van, then here.
He continued to explain to the supe how from the files you were built as a plan B. Soldier Boy began to also realize what this meant, the relation here. You were the unfortunate test tube offspring of the asshole who now stood cautiously in the door. Butcher couldnât tell if Soldier Boy was actually listening as he went on.
Soldier Boy just held your heated, hateful gaze. He wasnât one to get emotional or any of that prissy bullshit, but a part of him wondered what you had seen, gone through to be this⊠well⊠difficult. If it werenât for you looking as exhausted as you did, youâd probably be testing to see if he was killable.
âSo whatâs the plan with this brat?â He asked, looking to Butcher. Butcher just looked to you.
âFeel like a little family reunion?â
That was the plan. It sounded extremely stupid, but it was still a plan. MM, Frenchie, and Kimiko would assist Annie in setting up their trap, something thatâd draw Homelander right on in, then heâd encounter you. You and if needed, Soldier Boy. It was great, in theory.
When you finally began to move, you were sluggish. Whatever they had you under, refused to let your body wake up. You had tried to even just walk down the hall only to fall into the wall to your right. Butcher grabbed your arm, pulling it around the back of his neck to help you. He didnât consider this being an issue but no matter, theyâd get you right back in shape soon enough.
Soldier Boy started to seem skeptical of this plan, clearly you werenât fully operational. âThe kid is useless.â He said as he watched Butcher assist you to the couch. You had turned your head, staring daggers at him.
âDo you ever shut up? Whine bout just as much as my brother. Fucking pussy.â You grumbled. It earned a small chuckle from Butcher, but nothing of amusement from S.B. Soldier Boy wandered off, deciding he needed a break from this shit.
Butcher ordered Hughie around to fetch you something to eat, something thatâd help build your strength. Annie wearily helped you move, trying to get your limbs functioning. Kimiko and Frenchie had gone out to find you something more suitable than the shitty hospital like gown you wore. M.M. had come to take over helping you move, letting her get a break as he helped you walk up and down the hall, getting the feeling back at least in your legs.
It seemed the best motivator ended up being Soldier Boy. Heâd come back in, reeking of weed. He made some unneeded insult about Butcher putting all his eggs in the basket of a cripple. When it got you going, M.M. tried to get you to just focus on moving. Soldier Boy didnât shut up though. He just kept on going till you had enough.
You broke from M.M., going right into Soldier Boy. Your fist had sent him back quite a bit. That was the start of an all-out supe brawl that no one knew how to break up. Eventually you had gotten Soldier Boy pinned beneath you. Your eyes begin to light when Butcher steps in, grabbing you by your shoulder.
âPlaytimes over kids.â He said, somehow effectively ending the fight. At least now you were up and moving, right? Butcher wouldâve had you practicing on a target outside but it seems S.B. was enough.
A few weeks later, Butcher was finally sure you were well enough to fight. You seemed lively, and spent every god damned day terrorizing Soldier Boy. He was the only person you seemed to have a problem with. S.B. stuck with Hughie and Butcher, While MM- Frenchie- Kimiko and Annie made their way out to their assigned spot. Before you left, Butcher had found you, you two having a small chat before he watched you push off, soaring through the air just like your brother.
Homelander had just gotten done dealing with a press meeting when he got news of reported starlight activity outside town. He had immediately taken off, wanting to check it out, when he saw the explosion. Frenchie had rigged a bomb big enough to catch Homelanders attention. Everything was going according to plan, especially when he spotted starlight and began a slow decent, holding himself above as some sort of intimidation factor. âStarlight, what a surprise.â He began, that gut twisting smile of his blooming.
âHomelander.â She had, his name bitter on her tongue. âOh, Donât sound s---â He was interrupted by the sound the harsh sound of you cutting through the air. His eye shifted to the side just in time to catch you coming right at him. Starlight watched as you crashed into your brother, the impact sending you both miles away. Homelander felt his body drag through the breaking ground as you both began to slow. He caught the look of you above him before your fist connected with his face. The borderline psychotic look that mirrored his. The way you seemed so⊠happy. It was disturbing. Your fist made a sickening crunch as you punched him. He didnât let you get a second hit, throwing you off, up into the air.
âYouâŠ.â He began, sounding truly distressed. You just began to laugh. âFinally!â You yelled out into air. He began to ascend, coming to meet you on your level. âHowâŠâ he questioned. âBilly Fucking Butcher.â You said, laughing. âGood fucking man he is.â
Butchers crew had regrouped and taken the van to be in view of your location. Frenchie sat in the drivers seat, Kimiko in the passenger. They watched along with MM, Hughie, and Annie who stayed in the back of the van, watching out the small window. Butcher and S.B. stood outside the van, getting a better view of the two of you. They could barely hear you but they heard your taunts, the way you massively put your brother down. Butcher couldnât help the small chuckle that slipped his lips when you credited him for your freedom, and how it absolutely pissed Homelander off. Serves that cunt right.
It wasnât long before Homelander had enough, eyes firing their crimson beams, only to be met with yours in return. From there a great fight broke between you two. You two fought each other like hell, unkind thoughts shared by broken hoarse voices. At one point you nearly had him but he slipped away like the snake he is. With you two being about equal on the block of power, it just felt endless. Then Soldier Boy stepped in. Homelander was on top of you when his fathers shield got bashed right into his skull.
Homelander fell off you with a hiss, looking up to see Soldier Boy staring down at him while you got to your feet, hovering slightly by the man. Homelanders breathing was heavy, eventually erupting into some sort of battle cry as his eyes tried to laser the both of you. While Soldier Boy most likely couldâve tanked it, you still put yourself in front of him, just in case. Not that you cared for the older supe, just that he still had value alive.
The searing heat burnt through your gear, burning it up just like your skin. It was only a flesh wound but the fiery beams still had you huffing. Once they retracted, you looked over your shoulder, looking more pissed than ever. Homelander never feared anyone, but this, this got to him.
