the theme of “great expectations”?? they’re both thrust into greatness but they initially reject/resist the role bc of their upbringing and their personal disinclination towards wielding newfound power/status, and both their journeys are about learning to formulate and grow into their own definition of what being a hero means

speaking of their upbringing—they both grew up w loving parents but have some daddy issues, esp in relation to the whole “great expectations” thing. miles struggles to reconcile his new identity as spider-man with his knowledge of his dad’s disapprobation towards spider-man. he struggles w feeling like he’s going to let down his father and drift away from him, while at the same time having to deal w all the responsibilities that come w being spider-man. similarly, percy also grapples w the implications of being “his father’s son,” in light of the fact that he’s a crucial part of a big prophecy

Jazz: normie-passing but freakishly high-strung and acts like a 30yr old. Spends her spare time giving unprompted therapy to apathetic classmates that are her same age. Also like a prodigy??? She literally canonically has the highest CAT score EVER, I love Jazz but it would suck being her younger sibling, the expectations are way too high to follow 😵

Tucker: the kid is just weird. Two obsessions- meat and technology and neither have anything to do with the other. Also cannot resist hitting on anyone who crosses his path.

Scorpio: If you’re gonna break rules, for the love of god do it with some style.

Ophiuchus: Hiding under the covers actually works with some things. It is technically a threshold and so some things do actually have to be invited.

Sagittarius: “two birds one stone” Is a misleading proverb. Meteorites hit pretty hard.

Capricorn: Most armor is not resistant to funk based weaponry. 

Aquarius: Harvest from the rich and give to the poor. They wont need the blood for much longer anyway.
