Folded programme poster for ‘Amopera‘, a collaboration between @klangforum_wien and @needcompanyarts . Amopera is a dystopic ballad that revolves around the idea of ‘meta-opera’. It aims to explore the role and meaning of art, making use of techniques such as deconstruction, collage and accumulation. ‘Amopera‘ is bad Latin for ‘I love opera’; in which case it is about love. Filippo Brunelleschi’s mirror experiment attempted to prove that his paintings by the use of central perspective could depict reality so accurately, that they would blend into the setting of the depicted buildings. His aesthetic operation was meant to establish a relation between the picture and the depicted, perception and reality or even art and science. By reenacting his experiment in the setting of the renaissance town Urbino, to examine this constructed relation between picture and reality in the context of tourism and photography.

Typographic interpretation of the essay “The New Art of Making Books” by mexican conceptual artist Ulises Carrión. In the text, Carrión postulates a new form of the book, the “bookwork”, that offers new ways of artistic expression.
