The energy in Pearl Harbor is immense. As soon as I walked on the grounds the emotions and memories of my own experiences of the Iraq war transfused with our entry event into WWII.

Gunfire. Explosions. Death. These events never leave my memory but they find a sense of belonging here.

When I visit a memorial like this it brings some sense of peace. I truly hope we can move on from our current wars.
