The reason propaganda goes unchallenged among both the left and right is that people don’t want to look bad and consider themselves moral. For example: A lot of people believed Bush’s lies because what he talked about defeating sounded horrible, and to question such things would seemingly make you side with terrorists. We look at all the things people believed during the Red Scare as ridiculous, but that same paranoia exists today. Look how many people on this site believed the Chinese Communist Party was using their data when they uploaded TikTok videos despite this claim coming from a conservative senator who presented no verifiable proof. It’s little things people regardless of being left or right wing will accept as true with no evidence due to the narrative they’ve been told by the same institutions they claim to oppose.
