the king and the queen takes the night off to stargaze before his birthday.
another birthday fic for Xavier! happy birthday, my astrophel. posted at exactly 12 am of october 16!
To he who wields the sword that cleaves the path of the future of his land—
To her who wields the staff that grants peace and unity to the land he protects—
Two people who longed for peace and prosperity, away from the bloodshed and death.
Yet for this day, he was no king, she was no queen. Just two lovers who share the same sights of the vast expanse of the night sky to dream of their future together. I let my head rest atop his chest, hearing the organ beat steadily, just like hers, thrumming with life and with love that surrounds them at this very night.
Words weren't needed tonight, just each other's presence— because I was counting down the hours when I could greet my beloved king a joyous greeting on his day of birth. I had thanked his mother in her grave for birthing the man who gave me his surname in holy matrimony years ago— the same man who still has not heard the news I had hid from him recently.
"Xavier, will you be busy yet again tomorrow? I want to visit the village by the East, the one close to the river."
"I have some council duties later, but I'll make time to be with you to visit the village. But why that specific village of all places? Why not the town? It is rather close-by than a two hour horse ride."
"To be away from all of the royal duties, even for a little while, can't I monopolize my spouse now hm?"
"Of course you may, you only need to say the word and I shall leave all my duties to the side to do your bidding."
I grinned, before moving my head to gaze at his handsome face, "You swear upon your oath to me at the altar?"
"I swear it upon the stars up above us since the moment we both were born in this world."
I could not help but laugh, before kissing his cheek with all the love I can muster in her heart.
"I think you missed where that kiss should have landed, my queen."
"Do you say I got wrong, astrophel?"
"I say you should redo it again, this time here." He pulled my chin forward, crashing our lips together as the shooting stars flew over us, yet I pay no such mind to it as I enjoyed this rare moments without duty between us.
His hands finds purchase onto my waist, fingers meeting lace as he holds onto my dress like a lifeline while his other cradled my neck with gentle hands, a stark contrast to the other. I find myself on his lap, a hand caressing his cheek and the other cards onto his soft silvery locks, our breaths mingling before closing the distance once again.
My Evol went haywire, time pausing and forwarding at unprecedented rate, I felt him pull away with a deep chuckle rumbling the two of us from our position.
"You love my kisses that much that your powers went all over?"
"Shut it— as if the twinkling lights surrounding us isn't by you."
"Guilty as charged, but I am not guilty with kissing my own wife now, am I?"
I was about to retort when I noticed the time with the stars guiding me tonight, my lips forms a soft grin as I pause time to hold him close.
"Happy birthday— astrophel... May we continue to celebrate the day of your birth each year, maybe in the future we have a little star running around this field with us."
His eyes widens by a fraction before a big smile forms in his soft lips, "Then I shall hold you onto that, dear wife. You, me, and our little star."
"Hmm..."
"Hmm what?"
I whispered something by his ear, she could not see his facial expression, but the way his hand held her body more protectively made me aware of his feelings over it.
"Are you pulling my leg, beloved?"
"It is the truth— why should I lie about something like that, on your very special day too."
"I— I am?" He lost his voice midway, shock and elation swimming in his beautiful blue orbs.
"You are, my astrophel... You are."
"I am to be a father— a parent to our child within you?" His voice cracks as tears welled up on his eyes, his body shook with the raw emotions inside him, so I only nodded, caressing his cheeks and drying his tears.
"It is not my gift to you, that awaits in our chamber— this... this is a gift for both of us. After so long..." I too was getting quite emotional, from the hormones and the way my husband took the news that had even exceeded what I was expecting, yet I would not trade it for the world, for he and our future child are the blessings I have in this life.
"Once again... my dearest king, my dearest husband, my partner, my astrophel— happy birthday. From the woman who loves you the most, and I am sure our little star also wishes you a happy birthday. We are thankful for you existing in our lives." Rubbing my nose to his own before slipping in another kiss before we had to leave for our chambers to retire for the night.
Then as he guided be back towards our kingdom, his hand has never felt the safest— for he now has two people to protect with his life. I am sure his birthday tonight had changed his path forever, and I shall be with him through it all, with our little bless— our little star.

⭐ celebrating his birthday with the one he loves, Xavier may have turned the tables instead—

The stars have always been shining above even before time, yet in this very moment, as I gaze up at shooting stars above the expanse of the night sky, I was met with not just the sight of the universe, but the sight of Xavier's smile directed at me.
"You're missing out on the view, Xavier."
"Not really, I have something better to look at." He quips, before his hand caressed my face like a sacred treasure.
"I should be the one flattering you tonight, not the other way around."
"Just having you here with me is the greatest gift you could ever give me." Finally tearing his eyes off of me to gaze at the stars beyond.
"The sights before us always felt monotonous, yet it makes a difference when I'm with the person I cherish the most. It gives a whole different meaning... Like a new discovery from the mundane."
"Xavier.."
"I always thought I'd be resigned to a life of just me, of just protecting, of just being a shadow of myself after all these years. But you? You gave me life, you gave me purpose, you gave me something to look forward to. But if you ask me what I want for a present from you... That would be spending each birthday, each season, each moment... with you. So will you humor me?"
"You're unfair..." Pouting at him, he chuckles— the sound I would never grow tired off even if I hear it for eternity, because it is from him. The man who holds the key to my universe.
"You don't have to tell me about those Xavier, because we'll always be together. We'll spend all of that and more together. Because that is my oath to you— actually no... That is what I always wanted deep inside."
Silence befell us, but it wasn't as bad. Not long after, I was in his arms as the stars continued to traverse the space above us. His lips mingling with mine as our hands find each other amongst the sensation of him claiming me as his, lips meeting teeth, yet he did not pull away, only pulling me flush towards him.
Not long after, we found ourselves in a place I knew all too well, a piano standing by the center bathed in moonlight, his hands leading me towards it, his efforts never fails to amaze me, always making sure I would be the one spoiled at every opportunity, yet the thunderous beats in my heart gave me no break, as if telling me that this was real, that Xavier's existence in my life is real, not an illusion... but real.
Then soon a tune I know yet so different danced in the air as his fingers met the keys with familiarity of a man who loved this instrument. His eyes never left me, a concert that was only made just for me.
"You're making me feel like it's my birthday instead, Xavier."
"It's not just my day, but our special day. I'd rather share it with you than hoard it all for myself. I've been alone for years, now let me share this day with the person I cherish the most." He then looks at the keys then back at me again, never missing a beat, then his voice starts singing alongside the tunes from the piano.
His voice accompanying the song he was playing made me weep, the emotions flooding through me as if the music and his voice had longed for someone to hear its rawest forms had me pulling his face back down to kiss me.
"You will never truly be alone, while I'm here. We're stuck forever now, astrophel."
"I've longed for you to call me that, my dearest. It has been such a long time... I was afraid you wouldn't be able to remember the nickname you once gave me as passing."
"Everything about you... is forever stuck to me. Oh my dearest astrophel, the man who came from a distant time. One day let's leave everything behind for a week and visit our Uluru."
"Sounds like a plan, no rain checks alright? Once we go there... We might never leave."
"That's a hard proposal, but we'll see. Our planet, together..." I grinned up at him as the melody from the piano continued, our hearts forever intertwined, not by fate, not by time, but by ourselves. So on his most special day, my dearest wish is for him to always be happy, and that all his wishes come true.
'My Xavier... Astrophel— happy birthday to the man you roamed time to be with me. I am truly grateful to be the one who gets to spend each day with you, in your arms... forevermore.'
The four horsemen of the apocalypse always made young children fear them from adult's hearsays. Conquest— Famine— War— and lastly Death always brought forth by those with the power to level a world with a flick of a finger.
They fear the damnation of their souls to the demons that plagued the world after sinners opened the portal to the land of the punished. Some say it was the retribution of the Gods they once served after humanity continued to sin against their rightful judgements.
However as humans, they learned to adapt— to adjust to the world where Perdition was already normal to the eyes of the denizens. The remaining believers of the gods created a faction to protect themselves from the temptation of the demons, calling them the Astrophels, for they would rid the world of the sins and bring humanity back to the gaze of the gods.
Every few centuries, the Astrophels chooses a child born from their faction to become the 'Saintess'— a human with the strongest powers that could rival even the strongest of demons that tempted humanity to continuously sin.
She grew up with scrutiny, always pleasing the elders and those who came before her. To her, the title clipped her wings— the very epitome of her freedom. As a child, she craved the grass beneath the soles of her feet, the air flowing past her hair, things a child should always experience as she plays with her peers, but instead of those, she was in the convent, learning spells, following orders, becoming an adult for a girl her age.
So when she finally reaches the tender age of a legal woman in her time, she already carried the weight of the expectations of the people who raised her since infancy.
The scabbard of her sword, Aetherion felt heavy beside her side as she walked over to a village who reported a sighting of the elusive Lumiere— one of the high ranking demons who torments the sinners with angelic smiles and sharp claws. The latest victim was a woman who begged the demon to free her from her monotonous life of serving the 'so called gods'.
She questions the priests for even caring, the woman turned her back against humanity, yet here she was, sent here to make sure that the body won't be taken by the demons to feast on. So by the time she arrives in the village, the smell of rot and decay filled her nostrils, yet she was already used to it. After all, she was forced to watch a human be consumed by demons since her childhood.
Bodies littered the village plaza, all torn and mangled, with the only identifying factor being the dental records of the deceased. She kneels and prays for each body, before instructing the men to burn each with the church's incense.
"May you find piety in the afterlife." She says to each and every body before it gets burned, her face held no emotion, as if she was moving with nothing but inveterate motions. She does not notice the blue eyes gazing at her from the shadows, or rather she forces herself not to.
Once the moon settles above, she walks over to the shadows, pointing her sword upon the intruder. "You overstepped your boundaries again, Lumiere."
A chuckle resounded from the pit of shadows, before a form of an angelic man appears before her, his blue eyes filled with mirth at her words.
"Oh you wound me, dear saintess. Can't a being like me have any entertainment while I await the day we become one?"
"Become one? You jest yourself, demon. I will never betray the order for the likes of you."
"You say that— but I know you would soon. I know you would choose to be in my arms instead of the gods you seek to serve. As I told you already, the gods gazes will never return, for they have long perished or turned sides. Humans have done deicide, you just refuse to believe my candor, dear saintess."
"A demon with candor is like a man confesses all his secrets to the whole world— meaning it is impossible for you to be honest." She says before trying to hurt him for the nth time.
It was always a dance for them, she attacks, he takes defense. He never once fought her at his full strength, he avoided such confrontations because it reminded him of bygone times, where they sparred together in the Elysian Fields. But now they sat in different sides of the same coin of life.
He knew his patience would be rewarded, he just had to push more, and if means creating more ruination for the rest of humanity to keep her on her toes on him. Slowly, she'll see the world as he does. After all, the time for that specific once in a century festival was coming up soon— she would see the truth of the world in all its hard truth.
Once she was done trying to hit him, she silently leaves him to retire for the night in one of the Order's lodges. The people inside all bowed to her once she enters, thanking her for a job done as if she even did something other than pray for the damned souls of the deceased victims.
She was sent all over different places out of the blue after that incident in the village. However when she arrives at the Order's doorsteps to report her latest mission, she sees her apprentice's lifeless eyes stare at her as the young woman's body was cleaved in different places, the clinking of golden chalice rang in her ears as the people she trusted drank the blood of her innocent apprentice. The head of the order happily exclaimed that the feast of Hel falls to them, and that they should enjoy the feast.
To her, the smell of the meat they all feast upon was no animal— but the familiar scent of burning human flesh. The flesh of the very child, now teenager she had protected so hard broke the very dam that held the emotions she had long buried deep within her.
She did not even realize herself when the scream tore out of her throat, and with a swing, she decapitates the same man she called her must trusted confidant when she was still a child, the same man who bit through Ellise's fingers with gusto. To them the young woman was just a nobody, but to her, it was Ellise, the very same child she raised after saving her from her village overrun by demons years ago, now that same person was on the table, as a feast to the true depraved.
They were no humans, even demons were never this sordid, they always had a reason to kill humans, but this? This was a cruel and monstrous act done to a person who was completely innocent. She tore through flesh and sinews with the very sword she took oath with them, now she becomes the bringer of revenge and vengeance.
The onslaught continued until the early days of the morning, she only realized where she was when she hears the slow claps from behind her, craning her head onto where the sound was, she sees Lumiere wearing a wicked grin, as if he was proud with the execution she had done prior.
"Look at how the Saintess has fallen, it felt good to finally let go of your lofty ideas right?"
". . ."
"Don't look at me like that, I was not the one who took the sword and slaughtered my brethren."
". . ."
"Still in denial over the very thing you swore to never do— to kill the same people you took oath upon."
"Are you happy now, Lumiere?"
"It's been months and that is the first thing you say to me, dear saintess?"
"Did you make them do this?! To get a kick out of me?!"
"Now now, demons can't do anything like these, start the temptation, yes but to make them do this? It is all on them." He says as he started walking to her, not minding the scent of putrefying blood and flesh. He stops behind her, gazing at the woman who now looked so broken, her sword thrown away as she cradled the severed head of the child she failed to protect.
Ellie's eyes were closed, as if her death was serene and peaceful, yet they both knew the young woman had probably suffered for hours before succumbing to her injuries. He kneels beside her, pushing her head to his chest, not minding if the blood on her would ruin his pristine white suit.
"Grieve— I am not here to come laugh at you. Let me be here to lessen the burdens now plaguing you."
"I killed them all— they begged me, to stop, to think it through. But I killed them like it was nothing."
"Because the walls of your emotions finally crumbled, the moment you saw the child on the sacrificial table all cut up with her body and blood being consumed by those you trusted so much."
"Lumiere-"
"It's Xavier... it always was for you. Enough with the Lumiere. Let me hear my real name from your lips once more, my saintess."
"Why are you acting like this to me— so accommodating, something any demon would never do to me."
"Maybe because I am different, not all demons started evil. Some became demons to save those they love."
"We've known each other for years, yet you never told me your story, Xavier." The first time he hears his true name be uttered by her lips after eons made the blood rush south. Gently taking the head from her arms, he pushes her onto the floor of the altar.
"There is a time and place for that— but right now, I need you. You won't stop me now right, you lost our bet after all. You chose this path."
Her eyes looks away, yet his hands made her look back to him once more, his blue eyes shone like the clearest skies, the very same thing she have always craved since her childhood. Without skipping a beat, she connects their lips together, sealing her fate to him once more after eons of separation.
His hands gripped her uniform, tearing through the fabric as if it had offended him, his tongue darting past her lips, locking with hers in a heap of saliva and teeth.
The years of unresolved tension between each of their interaction finally reaches its crescendo when she begged him to take her on the same spot she once took oath to never fall for a demon nor succumb to her concupiscence. The carnality between them was apparent, as he let her tore his own clothes.
Now bare for all to see, he intertwined their fingers together, as if to tell her that he was with her through all of it. All the unspoken words between them shared between their clenched fingers as his free hand made her face him again.
"Once we do this, there is no turning back, saintess."
"I never pegged you to be courteous or caring about my opinions, Xavier."
"Let me make you happy— let me make you forget everything. Just bind yourself to me for eternity, and all of this will be nothing but a nightmare." He asks her with utter devotion, pulling her flush to his aching body.
"I don't wish to forget, not Ellise, not Jonah— none of them deserves to be forgotten."
"Still, tie yourself to me for eternity. I'll make sure this will never happen again to anyone."
"How can I be sure you are not just here to jest me and use me for your lecherous needs."
"I would not do it with someone who can blast me to smithereens with their innate powers, would I?" He asks before nipping the shell of her ear before licking it feverously.
"Only gods know how your brain works."
"I already told you, gods don't exists anymore, if there was, you'd be one."
"Don't flatter me for more time—"
"These words come from the bottom of my heart." He says before kissing her again, yet she pulls away.
"Just do it already, you don't have to prepare me."
"Nonsense—I'll prepare you." His hand ran all over her body, exploring the warmth between her thighs, and reduced her to nothing but wanton needs. He took his time, taking her mask apart as he did so, he did not care if he would suffer longer under the gaze of the god he was before turning into a demon. What they were doing was sacrilege, yet none of them really cared.
When he knew it was finally time, she had him take her. Her fingers leaving his and winding up to his back where scratch marks began appearing with each thrusts. His hands had her legs stretch to accommodate him as he experimentally thrusted himself inside her, yet not fully inside to the hilt.
"Mmph— Vie..." She whimpers from a particular thrust.
"I got you." He breathlessly utters as he connected himself back inside her, his movements were slow, yet with a purpose. Her neck was already filled with marks from his hand and teeth, yet both of them never cared, his back bled gold yet he did not stop.
He took her for hours, powering through overstimulation and exhaustion, just to continuously have her the way they always were supposed to be. However, he only stops when she finally said she was spent, caressing her sweat-laden skin before kissing her fully once more.
"Tired?"
"No— I just want to bury my apprentice before I allow you to make me one of your kind." Her words shocked him, yet the growing grin on his face betrayed everything else. He could only nod and kiss her again before letting her get dressed into something new from his pocket dimension.
He saw her limp as she carried what was left of her apprentices, burying them before she kneels and apologizes to each grave. How she had failed them, how she was no different from the people who had killed them. Yet Xavier was there to refocus her and fix her mindset regarding what had happened. it took her days to process things, bringing her onto an abandoned house far away from the memory of the Order.
Unknown to her, he had faked her death, wanting her all to himself, he mad sure that no one would find her again. Each night, he took her, ruining her for anyone else but him. Then the day came when he could take her to his realm— his hand held hers tightly.
"Once we go past the border, there won't be turning backs."
"Show me the worst you can do, demon." Her words betrayed her actions as she gripped his hand tightly with her very own. A mark on her neck signifies their much deeper connection.
"If you say so, saintess." He says with a soft smile, his hand gripping hers with equal tightness and tenderness.
And together— they fell to the abyss in each other's arms.
"Our tears become pearls... To humans, it is beauty- revolting how they see our pain as beauty."
"You speak as if you see no beauty in the world- while some humans are meant to go down the path of evil, there are still those who do love the world and its inhabitants, dilectum virum-"
Her hands cradle his face, gazing into his eyes, their free hand intertwined. Their tails brushing over one another, as if subconsciously saying- 'I am here, I never will leave.'
"Your hair has grown again, dilectus- maybe you should seek a cut from a rock."
"It makes me feel closer to the water, feeling each strand follow the ebb and tide of the sea."
She softly gazes at him, before pulling him onto their cave.
"If you wish, but do not say I did not warn you- especially once the sea is filled with-" She stops herself, grinning silently.
"Filled with what?"
"It is a secret I shall keep for now, maybe in the future, you shall know." Curling her tail as she rests on their kelp bed, she smiles at him.
"You owe me a bubble nest by the time the tides change-"
"This god will see to it that his mate gets her sought after bubble nest- but only if she gives me of equal value."
She drags him down by pulling on his hair. Tails intertwined as they watched their chests beat in silence. There was no mark, no binds- just two little fishes in the vast ocean.
"Maybe by next season, we have a little spawn to watch over and raise- Rafayel."
Translation Note:
I used Latin for their nicknames 🌸
Dilectum virum - Beloved Husband
Dilectus - Beloved
I wanted to create a what-if scenario, had he chose her since the beginning- it's just a small brainrot moment for me 🌸
"I met her again in spring, she was visiting Zayne since she lived with her adoptive parents abroad, hence she was only here every break. I was jealous of Zayne, he got her love... How I wished she remembers me, how I wished she remembers the love she always gave to me. She and Caleb took me in as one of the youngest in the facility- she always gave me seconds, saying growing children needed more nutrition... But I don't want her to starve, so I tell her I'm full so that she'll be strong. Sometimes, I see her faint after every experiment. She was different, they didn't force anything into her, but they were forcing her to change into something ancient- 'Murian?' I think it was the term. They wanted her to be one, to be sold to the highest bidder- at night me and Caleb huddled close to her every time she screams, it broke my heart that the most precious big sister I have was broken by these researchers for money and fame- But seeing her now, glowing, smiling, enjoying life... Maybe it's alright to be on the sidelines... Because as long as she is happy, then I will be too, she deserves it after all this time." - Kaiya

The Coelum Express ran over its predestined tracks down from Skyhaven to Linkon City. The silence was deafening for most people, however to its frequent passengers, it was a reprieve from the stress the wanderers give on a daily basis. Linkon has the Hunters, Skyhaven has the DAA to protect the denizens of each location.
Her torso leans onto the wall as she watches the train descend, her eyes watching the familiar silhouette of her old home grow larger and larger, however it would be hours before the train reaches its destination.
On her phone was a haphazard written report she would continue after she arrives at her cousin's place for the duration of her stay. She messages Zayne that she was now bound for Linkon after an exhausting post Deepspace debriefing and stabilization.
Not before long, her eyes close as fatigue finally settles in on her overworked body. The person beside her could only sigh, his heart thundering in his ribcage, he removed his jacket and placed it on her to make sure she was comfortable. He couldn't really intrude with her time with Zayne- and clearly it wasn't his position to do so, at least not yet. Not when his twin sister had a lot on her plate, but he was proud to work with her, to watch her shine after years of separation.
To Caleb, seeing her again brought forth nothing but love, respect and longing. But she no longer was a Xia- she was someone else entirely. They were twins, shared the same womb, the same blood- the same parents yet they were nothing but strangers now. He had no one to blame but himself, had he worked harder to find her, had he never believed the lies of the doctors and researchers in the facility, then he would have seen her grow with his own two eyes. But that wasn't important now, his twin sister was back, and so was he, now stronger- now able to protect her and Kaiya, no one will ever put them in harm's way, not when he's there.
She wakes up once the train's AI supervisor announces their imminent arrival at Linkon Train Station and that all passengers should bring their belongings as they leave. Yet she felt something on her, a jacket of her coworker- Caleb was draped over her as if to shield her from the cold. She smiles at him, giving his jacket back.
"Thank you Colonel Xia for the jacket."
"It's nothing, and please- call me Caleb outside of work. We're both off-duty, not some formal name."
"No problem then, Caleb. It's quite funny how the secretary booked us both at the same carriage."
"We gotta protect one another if there comes a problem."
"That is true- well my cousin will be fetching me so this is where we part. Thanks for being a nice seatmate." She smiles as she takes her luggage along with the rest of the passengers.
Exciting the carriage, she sees Zayne standing by the side, his stoic face had a smile as he takes her bag from her.
"Zaynie! You grew again! That's unfair- give me your secret I need some height."
"You refused to drink your milk when we were kids, I'm bound to grow taller. You also had an unhealthy sleeping pattern when you were a teenager, hence stunting your growth further."
"Okay okay- stop! Don't go all medical on me. By the way, I want the macarons Kaiya gave you last time I was over- especially the lemon meringue flavor."
"She made them herself, I think she would be bringing a batch tonight after hearing that you're coming over for a week? Why are you staying over for a week? Are you not telling me the real reason? Tell me."
"It's getting worse, the migraines, the drug's effectiveness can only help me for so long before this damn situation blows onto my face. Scales have been appearing non-stop, I'm afraid the pills won't be enough anymore, Zaynie."
"But I- I made sure it is the most potent drug that is safe to be consumed by you- how can it start failing already?"
"It's been years since I visited the sea. Drive me there... Please Zaynie? I'll come home before midnight, I promise. I just want to soak for a bit, maybe the urges would calm down."
He could only pinch the bridge of his nose before leading her to his car.
"The furthest part is by the cove in Whitesand Bay-"
"I'll take any location right now, Zaynie."
"Alright, I'll drive you there." He said with resignation, walking her to his car and he put her luggage onto his trunk. She gets inside first before he does, opening the glove compartment where there was a waterproof bag always prepared for emergencies like these- he wanted to always be ready.
"At least bring your phone and wallet with you, I'll bring the rest of your luggage back to my place."
"You're the best little brother anyone could ever have."
"I'm your cousin, but it's nothing. You're like my older sister anyways."
The drive was filled with both of them updating one another with the happening in each other's life, like there was no separation to begin with. Soon they reached the cove by Mo Art Studio where Zayne puts her phone and wallet onto the waterproof bag.
"Call me once you're finished, I'll fetch you. I know you get weak at every first transformation."
"Really, thank you Zaynie."
"No problem, take care-" And with that he leaves with his car. He had left her with the bag filled with her essentials from a towel to her things and fresh clothes from the stuff she left in her last visit.
She was about to walk the short distance to the cove when she felt eyes on her. Looking around she tried to find the culprit, connecting gazes with the person by Mo Art Studio's balcony. She only shakes her head before walking to the cove.
She didn't know that the man gripped his sketchbook tightly, enough to break the pencil he was casually using to draw a crab walking by earlier. His eyes widened with disbelief, it wasn't her... Was it? Or was his mind playing tricks with his perception. But no- he knew it was real- she was real. He gazes behind him, onto the partially covered chiseled piece he made that shared the same face as the woman he gazed at.
Rafayel thought he was delusional, maybe he was- with the guilt festering in his heart since the moment she forced him to strike her heart to save the woman he loves. But he couldn't even follow her, because if he finds out he was just delusional once more... He'd break, and the cycle would continue once again until he spirals over and over, for he knew... he had forsaken her the moment they first met under the tides as young Lemurians.
Dividers are made by @omi-resources , thank you so much for letting everyone use your amazing dividers.
Double update at a short span of time- 😊💞 Thank you for the warm welcome of my first LaDS series.
And our first interaction with the boys- I wanted to show her personality with those she trusts and with those she is just acquaintances with- and finally Rafayel's first appearance as the first love interest in this series.
Kaiya would be the name of MC (Main Character) in this series.
"This is Lieutenant Colonel ---static--- reporting that the tunnel has been completed for the aforementioned section. Requesting Icarus Argo to leave its position to dock back into the loading bay? We have successfully cleared the wanderers in this station.
Backup is requested in Sector 5FG-7? Noted, I'll steer the aircraft into the sector. I'll notify the crew and the crew asking for assistance. Understood, I'll write a report once I arrive back there."
Her eyes were on the digital console, commanding her second-in-charge to steer the ship as she focuses on the coordinates of the sector.
"Let's finish this up, boys- then let's all eat fried chicken, my treat." Her tone was still holding up to her position, but her crew knows she is also silently asking them to be careful and to come back home alive with the whole crew. Fixing her cap, she goes back to her primary position of steering the aircraft.
Then the familiar pull stops her from concentrating, small scales start itching in the skin underneath her collar. Feeling the pill box in her pocket, she takes a tablet and pops it in her mouth. It was bitter, always making her feel nauseous after every intake.
Then again she was going back to Linkon soon, she'll have to ask her cousin to get her more of her tablets. It would be life threatening to leave her supplies low, given that she stays away often. Feeling the cool scales from the itchy skin slowly disappear, she sighs in relief. No one should ever know her secret, else she'd be back to square one- like she was still the little girl back in the facility all those years ago, like she had never left.
'I will visit the sea... Maybe a quick soak can stop the transformation from randomly appearing-'
Meanwhile three men were in their different locations, Xavier was in his apartment reading his long standing comic book, his eyes glazed over at the character's arranged marriage panel, memories flowing back to him.
Rafayel was in Mo Art Studio, chiseling a visage of the woman who once stood by his side, his childhood friend who had joined the tides. Gazing into the marble eyes made him feel like he had failed her on a deeper level.
And lastly, Sylus was inside the Onychinus base, gazing at a scale inside a velvet box, his fingers run itself onto the edge of the scale, catching a finger on one of the grooves, his carmine eyes gazes at the blood on the scale, hastily cleaning it with his handkerchief before closing the box and hiding it in his vault, his most prized treasure.
Dividers are made by @omi-resources , thank you so much for letting everyone use your amazing dividers.
I finally got the time to write the Prelude to the story- I hope you guys would enjoy it. Feel free to comment, I'd like to hear your ideas and guesses-
It's been running in my head for a while, and noticing how colorful Rafayel's Lemurian Sea God tail is- what if Lemurians mate in different ways, one of which could be how betta fishes mate (making bubble nests) and how bettas chase over female tails. Including the way their body joins together to make their brood-
I LOVE HIS COLORFUL TAIL 🥲 I want to hold it, care for it and pat it 😭💞 Let's all talk about it in the comment section.
I was thinking Sylus, Rafayel and Xavier x NonMC!Reader (based off my OC for the game) who was their fiancee in different timelines.
NonMC! Reader has Time Manipulation Evol-! However she can only safely use it to rewind time by a set amount of time before she starts getting migraines or causes fluctuations that may trigger more problems in her body (internal bleeding and more).
Romantic - Sylus, Rafayel and Xavier
Familial - Zayne, Caleb and MC
Her roles to each of them:
Xavier - A princess he was engaged to before meeting MC, it was an arrangement he never asked for, but silently accepted because it was his duty. Then as he slowly falls for MC, NonMC! Reader accepted that she will never be the person to his heart. She gives them their happy ending as she forcefully made herself the core of Philos by rewinding the time around the core and frees MC from her fate of becoming the core.
Rafayel - A Lemurian that always was his most devoted follower, always staying by his side as his best friend. Always the person he seeked to help with his judgements, but she never was the person who calmed the tides in his heart, it was MC whom he met as a child that calmed him. On Rafayel's wedding day with MC, and when the rules were given, to carve out the heart of his most devoted follower, NonMC! Reader carved her own heart for him to save himself the guilt of killing his beloved.
Sylus - A fellow dragon he was to mate with before he met sorcerer MC. As a fellow dragon she knew their old promises of sticking together would never happen again, so instead she made sure Sylus and MC would be safe and sacrificed her own life to make sure the two flew away to safety.
Then the boys meet her in the current timeline, with her being part of the DAA, in a titled position like Caleb. She grew as MC's childhood friend (which means she, Caleb, Zayne and MC are all close or at least were close).
Zayne - His cousin that once wanted to be a surgeon like him but instead dabbled into the military in hopes of changing and helping more lives, however he would always make sure to send her supplements and vitamins to make sure she's healthy whenever he's not around. He would always visit her whenever he could in Skyhaven. Unknown to him, she was always related by blood to him, even in other timelines. Either as his younger sister or as his cousin.
Caleb - Her close confidant after entering the military, she didn't know he had the Toring Chip implanted on him until she meets with MC again, given that her position as his childhood friend poses a threat to the ones responsible for putting the chip in him, they kept it classified and made excuses for her not to discover it.
MC - To MC, she is a loving big sister and trustworthy ally, in all their timelines together, she had never once hated MC, instead she accepted her role would only be a bystander to a love that would go way beyond fate's decree. In the current timeline, MC holds her to a high regard, and telling her secrets. MC wants her to be happy, and she'd do whatever it takes to make NonMC! Reader happy.
Caleb - Her biological twin brother, older by a few minutes. She always looked up to him, and kept him in her memory and heart even as she was adopted into another family. In the future they get reunited again.
Ocean's Call 🌊 Rafayel x Reincarnated!Non MC! Read
"A Lemurian? No... This scent is different... Synthetic- yet I can never forget this scent, changed as it may be, the person who let me have a happy life with her. The woman whose heart was carved out of her own chest by her own hands to offer it to the Sea God as his most devoted follower. The woman who has haunted my dreams for years on end... Are you haunting me once again? Or are you here to take your heart after regretting feeling emotions for me. My little fish, let me change it this time. Let me make it up to you, after all, you are the Sea God's most devoted follower, you will only choose me this time, right? I took care of your heart all this time... So please let me rectify all you felt in your last moments. This time... This time, it will only be you and me, my dearest ocean treasure." - Rafayel

AN:
Synthetic scent- 🫣 finally there is the connection with Zayne's story. I am also happy about his new myth, I love mermaid/mermen themes a lot 😭 hence this story will definitely have that.
Do note, Non MC!Reader will be shared by Xavier, Rafayel and Sylus. She is Zayne's adopted older cousin and Caleb's biological twin sister. She will be treating MC like a little sister, this won't have hate on MC. It is all about acceptance and respecting the choices the LIs have ever taken in their respective paths.
She will be forging her own path, different from her timelines with them, finding who she truly is and falling all over again and finally being loved like how she deserves.

She is the image I see of the Non MC!Reader I have for my LaDS fics. First of all, let me summarize! (Ofc you guys can imagine how she would look! Please feel free to share your images of her in the comments!)
She is Caleb's Twin sister, she was presumed dead in the facility. However unknown to Caleb, she lives after multiple tests and experiments have been done to her. As stated by the Zayne prompt, she has some 'circumstances' and is always in need of specially made vitamins to help her cope with the problem (maybe I'll drop it on the Rafayel prompt coming soon-). She was smuggled out by a researcher and sent to an orphanage where she was adopted by Zayne's Auntie and Uncle.
She lived in all their timelines, all family related to Caleb and Zayne, either as their sister or cousin. However for Xavier, Rafayel and Sylus- she was always someone who was always there but never noticed, because they loved MC.
Now back in the current timeline, she studied a few years and aimed to be part of DAA. Working hard she took a spot, and soon rising the ranks. She didn't notice Caleb, but he noticed her, but never once did he bring himself to reintroduce himself to his sister. But he always protected her from afar, making sure no one would betray her or hurt her in any way.
Draconic Reunion 🐦⬛ Sylus x Reincarnated!Non MC!Reader
'I can never forget that presence- nor the pain and guilt I felt as I heard your last roar as I soared away with her. I lived a lifetime with her, yet the ghost of you forever haunts my nightmares, your smiles long forgotten- all but the way you sacrificed yourself so we could live.. so we could love. Little dragon, are you still inside her today? Are you still yearning to be loved the way you should be? Don't worry, I am here now- I've learned and matured these years. Let's finally fulfill our promise to one another to be together as mates. My heart, full and so is my soul, the greed of a dragon never ends, then again you should know that... After all, we are the same.' - Sylus
Glacial Paradise ❄️ Cousin!Zayne x Cousin!Non MC!Reader
'Biao jie, how are you fairing in Skyhaven? I hope you are well there. Along with this letter are the vitamins you've been asking for in our last letter. I hope you're not overworking yourself. Take a rest, this is not an order from a doctor, but from your biao di. I worry about you, especially your "situation and circumstances". I'll fetch you from the train station next week, let's eat at the new cafe I found with her.' - Zayne
TL Note:
Biao jie - Older (Female) Cousin from Mother's Side
Biao di - Younger (Male) Cousin from Father's Side
Twin Troubles 🍎 Twins!Caleb x Younger Twin!Non MC!Reader
'Meimei... We share the same blood, the same birthday- but I failed to see you grow to be the woman you are today. Your Gege failed you, but you must forgive me, I never wanted us to be separated from that place. I'm sorry I didn't save you, I'm sorry that I became happy being someone's Gege. But I'm glad that you got to be adopted and loved by a happy family. I'm glad to see you shine the way you always were supposed to. If ever you need someone, Gege will be here now, I promise. My dearest meimei- I'll protect you from this world, the same way I did for her.' - Caleb
Starry Skies ✨ - Xavier x DAA General!Non MC!Reader
'If there would be a time I'd say I believe in miracles- it's when I saw her again in this life. The way the wind swept her hair as she descended the fighter she used for an aerial exercise with her squad. That DAA outfit looked good on her, but the best place for it is on the floor of my bedroom while I make her sing my name in ways no one else will know but me. Maybe it's not bad taking the Coelum Express everyday to see her like this, maybe my partner would fill my late forms for me if I take her jobs every time she's on a date.' - Xavier
