Storytime....I went to get my hair braided today by a new stylist at a salon. While I'm there, several people, almost everyone commented on how much hair I have. Like in awe of it but no one said it was pretty. Then a presumably multiethnic young woman entered the salon and another stylist immediately exclaimed how beautiful her hair was. I was triggered. Why isn't my long kinky curly hair considered beautiful but her soft curl patterned hair is?
