I really needed to hear this. I had never thought of it this way. This literally never occurred to me, I’ve just spent my whole adult life thinking I was underqualified for everything. Thinking I’m not good enough for anything because the “minimum requirements” are so high.

(Sounds loftier than it was, but then again, if they could have afforded better, they wouldn’t have hired me, lol!)

We went through many hiring cycles while I was there. The best employees we got had a variety of backgrounds, but the quality was rarely connected to how well they fit the criteria. 

There are lots of places who will take a chance on a person who doesn’t meet the paper requirements if they demonstrate confidence, good communication skills and the ability to look at the company and understand how they can be an asset to it, and communicate that. 

(No, really, the ability to bullshit well is a marketable skill, especially in advertising and marketing, but really in many places in the business world.)

Cats + Mathematics = the Furbonacci sequence

The Fibonacci sequence is found in many places in nature, including the branching of trees, leaves on a stem, the flowering of an artichoke, or an uncurling fern. But what if you applied this famous approximation of the golden spiral to our feline friends? Suddenly cats become even more awesome than we already thought they were.
