My favorite part of my essay was writing it. I was nice to reflect on the class and the skills I have picked up looking at the class from a wholistic perspective. I also think it was interesting to have it in an interview format , as it helped to synthesize my thoughts in a different way and format that we had not yet previously explored in this class.

I have just finished writing my draft of the final essay. To adjust and further strengthen my point, I will go back and reread. I will think about where I can infuse more of the core class concepts and how I can relate all my questions back to these central points.

I learned that I need to take breaks when I write. If I try to complete a major writing project all at once, my words get scrambled, and I lose focus on the purpose of the writing. I learned to take breaks from writing, doing sections over the course of several days. This helps me not to be stressed. It also gives me a clear mind when I come back to writing. I am able to read over what I have written and edit it so that it relates to the prompt. This will help me as a teacher when I have to write important papers. Taking a break will allow me to clear my head and come back with new ideas.

I learned that having ample time to draft allows me to write my ideas more clearly and be more organized in my writing. Whereas not having as much time or crunching at the deadline makes my writing feel rushed/forced, and it is not nearly as polished. Drafting multiple times allows for deep revision to make sure I'm displaying the message I want to tell.

What did you learn about your writing process that will help you after college? I've learned that my writing process thrives on a combination of structure and flexibility. Outlining before drafting keeps me focused, but I also need room for ideas to evolve as I write. I discovered that revision isn’t just fixing grammar—it’s rethinking arguments and improving flow. Feedback showed me the value of outside perspectives in providing clarity and tone. After college, I’ll continue using these strategies: start with a clear plan, write in stages, and revise deeply. Writing is iterative, and embracing that mindset will help me produce stronger, more thoughtful work in any professional setting.

what does your final revision process look like? For my final revision process, I am taking time to read over my analysis. I plan to read it from beginning to end, making sure the information provided is useful for the analyses. I am going to play around with design features and move my analysis from a google doc to a slide show. This will allow me to add more pictures and graphs smoothly and help organize my data.

Having a meticulous revision process is a non-negotiable professional skill that goes far beyond this class. In the professional world, my ability to critically review and refine my own work—whether it's a technical report, a business proposal, or even just an email—will define my credibility. The habits of checking for structural integrity (like the reverse outline) and ensuring factual accuracy (like double-checking that Pranks had the highest views ) are essential for quality control. A well-revised document shows the audience respect and builds trust, turning me into a highly effective communicator and critical thinker in any future role.

My final revision process is all about zooming out before zooming in. I start by rereading my entire project to check for clarity, cohesion, and flow. Then I tackle structure—are my ideas building logically? After that, I dig into style: sentence variety, tone, and transitions. Finally, I proofread for grammar and formatting. I’ve found that revising in layers helps me stay focused and avoid burnout.
