i think posts like this show just how utterly disconnected other trans people are from the actual experiences of trans men, and just from trans men in general. bc a lot of y’all literally cannot comprehend that trans men experience anything besides getting misgendered occasionally and having to wear a binder. y’all think that’s the extend of trans masculine existence. because most of y’all do not fucking care to learn a damn thing about us.

we are literally talking about all of the things the second poster mentioned. we are talking about our rates of sexual assault and murder, we’re talking about medical transphobia, we’re talking about employment discrimination, public harassment, how the repeal of roe v wade affects american trans men, etc.

but you know what happens when we do that?

we get told to shut the fuck up.

My friend I do not know what to tell you here. My rule is and remains "I don't care what you call yourself because your actions and who you are as a person is more valuable to me" and "as long as everyone in the situation is an adult and is giving enthusiastic consent I genuinely do not give a fuck what you do" and "words are stupid and people are complicated so it doesn't matter if The Words Are Wrong as long as it makes you happy"

All summer and fall, beavers gather up branches with the leaves they actually eat, and store it in the deep end of the Pond, where the cold water and limited oxygen keep the leaves fresh all winter, so when it's negative 20 outside, a beaver can take a dip out of it's lodge, grab some refrigerated leaves in the (relatively) warmer water and go back to it's cozy little nap hole while everything else is out there suffering and eating bark or the like.

vibes. this is not a joke. it’s literally vibes.

when you look at someone and find them attractive, you don’t know what genitals they have or what gender they are. you might assume, but you don’t know. you are going off aesthetics and vibes.

another reason it’s all about the vibes is because it’s very common for queer men to mostly be attracted to other queer men, and queer women to be attracted to other queer women, and just queer people in general seeking each other out, based on the aesthetic and cultural tells we’ve curated over decades (centuries even.) we’ve gotten really good at finding each other.

though honestly, and this may be a hot take, i don’t think sexuality is about initial attraction. i don’t think it’s about who you look at on the street and think is hot. otherwise any lesbian who saw a femme twink on the street and accidentally thought he was hot and vise versa would probably be bullied by the internet into identifying as bi.

i think it’s about what kind of person you see yourself with and what kind of dynamic you want to have with that person. are you a femme who absolutely loves the idea of settling down with a nice butch? are you a trans guy who sees yourself connecting mostly with other trans guys? are you a gay guy who loves bears? what do you like to do in your free time and what other demographics tend to be into that? clubbing? roller derby? dnd? what kind of sex do you most enjoy having? do you prefer not to have sex? do you prefer sex without the expectation of romantic attraction?
