Melissa sat between Akilah and Gen, scrolling through her phone as the two talked. She wasn’t sure why she was here, considering college parties just weren’t her scene. Jackie smirked as Shauna answered her question, “Gen hinted at it, but you also didn’t make it any less obvious.”

Melissa took a deep breath, thinking over her options. She looked up at both of them, and it made her feel comfortable that they both seemed relaxed and not upset that she was taking so long to answer them.

Usually Nat was there, but Melissa hadn’t seen her the whole time she was there. As Nat began to type quickly, she hummed, “Lottie was over here, and that’s not really her scene.”
