Like first of all, when Simone starts to leave Tai, Tai is a little upset about losing Sammy but like she seems to just kind of accept losing Simone. The woman she built a life with and I’m assuming cares deeply about given that she was willing to come out to be with her. And part of that is likely due to the difference in acceptance of gay people between the 1990 and 2010s but still. These are women that are shown to have a deep understanding of each other and to care deeply about each other in the first few episodes, who have built a life together and have a son. And then in season 3, as well as the final episodes of season 2, it’s like Simone doesn’t exist except for that one scene where she lets tai see Sammy. But I feel like she would haunt the narrative more. Like tai should be trying to get Sammy back at least for this happy family she’s now created in her head with Van. That would still be discarding Simone but it’s done in a way that would still show her inclusion in Tai’s life. And done right, this plan could show how the life she thinks she’s building with Van could never work when you consider both of their histories after the wilderness. At the very least, Tai’s relationship with Simone should create more tension between her and Van than it did in the show.

And then of course there is the part where Tai leaves Simone in the hospital after almost killing her. And while obviously a bad thing for Tai to do, I don’t thing it’s necessarily a bad writing decision because it shows how when Tai’s life spirals out of control, she returns to the familiar and the only person who truly understands what’s happening to her. But I think I would be less annoyed if this idea had been carried forward more. Her leaving Simone would feel less icky if the show maybe emphasized more how Tai is stuck in this adolescent fantasy with van. And I think the show does do that, with Tai trying to kill people to keep Van alive, but I feel like, again, this idea would work better if there were still references to Simone. Like a contrast of the life Tai tried to build and the one she’s stuck in. Especially since the show makes it seem like they haven’t seen each other since after they got rescued, so ignoring themes of true and eternal love, it doesn’t really make sense for them to fall immediately back together outside of this feeling of being stuck in the wilderness.

As far as I can tell there are four hands that Van feels/sees in her hallucination dream. Based off of the clothing seen with the hands, it appears that the people holding her down are those who’ve passed away in the Wilderness!

The arm on the left wears a plaid winter coat (the one here) which is supposed to belong to Cabin Guy. While he wasn’t wearing the coat when he died (it’s not on his dead body), I think it’s a more obvious callback from his known outfits as it’s arguably the piece of his we see the most.

The arm on the top right wears a letterman jacket sleeve that then is assumably representative of Jackie as she wears her Yellowjackets letterman the night she dies.

The arm on the right side has a pink sleeve which seems to match that of the cardigan Laura Lee was wearing during the plane explosion. The fabric is also pretty dark as it appears to be covered in soot like you would find in a fire.

The arm around Van’s waist matches that of Javi as it wears the gloves that Nat made for him before his death.

Overall most of the leg warmers/arm warmers in the show are made from the sleeves of sweaters or with socks so you really just cut the fabric based on what specific piece you’re making.

For example, Melissa’s arm warmers here are made with a sock. To replicate these just cut some finger holes in the toe section of the sock and then stick your hand through it. You could also make socks into leg warmers by cutting one big hole in the toe section and stick your foot through that.

In this photo most of the leg warmers are made with sweater sleeves (ex. Shauna’s, Mari’s etc.) that would have been cut off of the original sweater to be worn on the legs. For these I’d probably just remove the whole sleeve from the sweater (as you could then wear the sweater part as a sweater vest) and trim down the sleeve accordingly to get the correct length. The sweater cuff is left intact so you’d only be cutting the upper part of the sleeve and I’d also caution you not to cut too much off as you’d want enough excess to scrunch up.

The only leg warmers I’ve been able to identify so far are Mari’s, Taissa’s, Shauna’s, and Robin’s though I’m still looking for the others.

The Antler Queen cloak was custom made for the show so there’s not an exact item you could search for but I’ve previously posted about how to make your own AQ costume here.

If you’re looking for a similar alternative though I’d try searching for a full length white cloak you could then customize with additional ties in the front and of course add hair onto. I believe the cloak in the show is made out of suede so that might also be a helpful term to add while searching for a cloak as well though the material will be very thick. Another alternative would be to use a white canvas drop cloth and construct the cloak that way using the sheet of fabric.
