The Podling Tavern is a collective of dedicated fans of Jim Henson’s masterpiece, The Dark Crystal! We run a Discord server and a fanzine! We hope to unite the fan base, and wake our ancient fandom from its long slumber!
Our zine isn’t just an e-zine, we also print physical copies and distribute them in our local communities! You are welcome to print copies of your own and put them wherever you think fans might find them, such as at libraries, collectible stores, and comic stores (with permission from the establishment, of course).

My parents always told me and my sister "all you can do is your best". I used to think it only applied to exams cause that's when I heard it the most, but it's actually impacted me much further than that. School really gave me a lot of issues with perfectionism and feeling like I'm never good enough, and I'm always sending myself into a spiral of self doubt (especially with my last job where there was SO much expected of you even if you were only there once a week). But my parents brought me back down to earth by saying "all you can do is your best", and what they weren't saying but there was an underlying sentiment of was "you can't give what you don't have, and if this is all you can do for today then that's enough. It doesn't make you a failure and it certainly doesn't make you less in our eyes". It's a hard lesson to internalise for me, but a massively important one
here are some additional requirements I would add to the United States presidency:
you are not eligible for the presidency if you are over the age of 65, if you turn 65 in office, that is fine but you cannot campaign if you are over 65
you cannot be president if you are a felon
you cannot be president if you have a personal net worth over $8 million
you cannot be presidency if you have had to file for bankruptcy in a business venture
you cannot be president if you cannot pass a basic neurological exam
you cannot be president if you have been convicted of or found liable for any sex crime, domestic violence or sexual harassment. unproven allegations are cause for investigation and can result in immediate termination from office if proven.
you cannot be president if you have been divorced more than once
you cannot be president if you never smoked weed out of a soda can in high school
you have to be up to date on all of your shots and forklift certification
straight cis white men are barred from holding executive office, if you’re a cisgender white guy and you want to run for president, you have to kiss another man with tongue for at least 15 minutes on national television and you’re disqualified if you display any sign of disgust
