Accidental Xena blog

I watched the testaments after reading the book and I’m very interested to see where they go with some differences but one thing I’m glad they kept was Agnes saying ‘all will be well, all manner of things will be well” which is a super famous quote from Catholic theologian Julian of Norwich (14th century) and obviously there’s a lot going on there but it was one of my favorite parts of the book and I think reveals parts of Agnes’s character that the show can expand on

the first 6.5 episodes of the 100 season 3 are so beautiful like this show has so many issues but especially in these episodes you really get the Xena/Gabrielle parallels with Clarke and Lexa. Like. Clarke trying to kill Lexa and being unable to actually hurt her, and Lexa apologizing for ‘making her this way’ Xena and Gabrielle would not act/react like that (they definitely fight harder and differently) but there’s still that similarity in characters. I’m just being weird for fun atp but I see this part of the 100 as a lifetime of Xena and Gabrielle and it really feels like how the same souls would act in different circumstances.

It kind of kills me how Clarke and Lexa is just a worse and sadder version of Gabrielle and Xena and the worst part is I’m still obsessed with them

one really fun thing is that Xena and Harrow both start out their respective series by winning a fight that their opponent is confident they will use by accessing weapons that have been previously buried on the battlefield. Showing the deep historic bond between bisexuals and lesbians.
