Kinda in love with the idea that different places on other sides of the world can look so similar. Something something universal human experiences
Like. Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland?
Miami and the Gold Coast (in Aus)
New Zealand and Oregon
The great plains and the Russian steppe
India and fiji
Gonna consolidate a couple additions/recommendations from others
Napa Valley, California and Tuscany, Italy
Appalachians in America and the Grampians in Australia
Black sand beach in Iceland and New Zealand
Aurora borealis and australis
Congo and Amazon rainforest/river
desert roads in Australia, South Africa, Argentina, and Mexico
Mountains in France and Korea
Mammoth Hotsprings in Yellowstone National Park USA

Germany has states????
hey before i answer this can you let me know if youre american real quick
yeah that checks out
oh actually this post reminded me of when our American parent company needed to send some stuff to us in Germany and the guy in charge of that asked what state we are located in and we said it doesnât really matter just put in the address and the zip code and itâll be fine, nobody specifies the state when mailing things.
So in consequence he decided to mail the parcel to Prussia, Germany. A state that hasnât been a thing since 1935
I just recently applied for a visa to the US and the suggested options for my country of citizenship and for my country of residence when typing in âGermanâ were:
Germany
Germany, Berlin
Germany, East
Germany, West
Democratic Republic of Germany
This was on the official visa website of homeland security.
Be careful princess đ¸
I just love that multiple people not only though âthe black one is a princess and those are her bodyguardsâ but also came to the conclusion âtheyâre also, obviously, samurai.â

Do this tomorrow.
The best time to destroy a golf course was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.
as an urban planner, I want to say that is possible but will not happen and will not give workers a fair chance at housing & repair ecology without organized coalitions of tenants unions, environmentalists, socialists, communists, and indigenous nations.
None of that YIMBY (aka Reaganomics) bullshit, no developer incentives, no lawn tax. Understand the reality of struggle in 1) taking land from the rich, 2) building housing for workers who need it most, and 3) the need for indigenous stewardship and the opportunity to restore land rights.
This is possible! With much developed land and empty lots! But the underlying desire here is public development for public good, and the rich are in near total control of development and entirely opposed to shrinking profits or property loss. Itâs a fight that requires discipline and unity.
the greatest skill a woman can learn for herself is self reliance
to clarify ⌠so many strong women in my life rely on men. that dependence is dangerous. ladies here are some good ref resources Iâve found helpful on my journey towards self reliance
automobile
changing coolant
changing oil
changing tire
jumping a car
plumbing
toilet running
basement flooding
replace a faucet
clogged drain
electrical
replacing light switches
blew a fuse
installing overhead light
earth vs. neutral vs. live wires
home
patching drywall
finding studs
this list is in no way comprehensive feel free to add on
a lot of âman thingsâ are a lot easier than you think they are. especially considering the fact that most of these things when buying the parts come with directions on the packaging that men usually donât even look at (and often end up doing it wrong because they were taught by fathers who also did not look at the packaging).Â
like i recently had to change my car battery and freaked out cause i thought id electrocute myself but turns out new batteries come with directions and its the easiest shit in the world so long as you can lift the damn thing.Â
so yeah, ladies dont ever feel like a man is a necessity for life, you can do this shit on your own its easier than you think! Â
Iâve heard good things about the book âGrow the F*ck Upâ which teaches you a range of skills. And thereâs the YouTube channel âDad, How Do I?â.

I need UK journalists to not show 43 ďżźdegrees is not beach weather like people are gonna die
Americans do not interact
Im Australian, and 43C is NOT beach weather. That is VERY hot, even for us, but for the UK its apocalyptic. At 43C you should not even be going outside if you can help it, treating it like beach weather is a one way ticket to heatstroke.
I agree with not going outside for long periods of time but you will have to plan something to reduce the heat within your households. Especially if your house is designed to retain heat
Fans pointed at open windows will pull out hot air and allow it to circulate - don't put them IN the window, leave some room by the side for extra air to get drawn in.
If you can't afford cold packs (and if you can, stock up on some NOW), get some ziplock bags and freeze them, with wet washcloths or ripped up towel inside. You want them to be ready in the freezer when you need them. Wrap them in a tea towel and put them on your wrists and ankles.
A big bowl of ice water in front of a fan will blow cold air into the room and make a massive difference. Again, if you don't have ice cube trays get some and freeze them *now*, don't wait until you're already in trouble (although I am melting at quarter past nine but my thermoregulation is bollocks so I don't know if that's the heat or just the me). If you can't afford to get any, clean out empty yoghurt pots or Tupperware or whatever you have that can hold water. Even if you end up with a giant ice cube from a lunchbox, it'll help.
Even just opening two windows at a crack will allow some air circulation - I sometimes prop open my bedroom door and leave the bathroom door open, both windows are locked at a crack because of the cats but it creates a nice little line of wind along the landing.
If you're someone who needs something on them to sleep, take your duvet out of the cover and just use the cover.
Remember that water acts as a lens - you do NOT want to wear a wet t shirt in the burning sun. I did this when I was 8 and if I tan on my back you can still see the scars.
Read the instructions for sunscreen carefully, and use the highest spf you can find. Reapply as per the instructions. If you get burned, Malibu do an amazing aloe-based spray on after sun, I got mine from Savers for 3 quid and it lasts ages. I keep it and any other after sun in the fridge, which means it's incredibly lovely to put on. Aloe is magic for burns so definitely gravitate towards that if you can. My son got badly burned (he's ginger, he went to an outdoor pool and they forgot to give him sunscreen) and he's had 2 helpings of it and you wouldn't believe how much better he is (he couldn't even really wear a shirt).
Make sure your pets have plenty of fresh cold water to drink, and if they usually have dry food consider giving them some wet food for one of their meals (cats are notoriously not always great drinkers but wet food will get them some liquid). Keep the curtains and/or blinds closed in south-facing rooms. I have blackout curtains in the front room and the front bedroom (my son's) and they make a MASSIVE difference to the heat. Make sure pets have access to these cooler spaces if you can create them.
Keep oven/hob use to a minimum if you can. I like making a massive pot of something that can be reheated in the microwave if necessary - the oven especially adds a lot of heat. Or get some wraps and ham and cheese and eat those.
Cordial or fruit juice can be better than water if you're sweating a lot. Cordial is cheap as chips. Salty snacks are also good.
Go to Iceland and buy a billion lolly ices. It's especially a good way to make sure kids stay hydrated.
I realize op asked for Americans not to interact, and whether or not they're being cheeky, I feel obligated to reblog this to save lives.
That temperature is absolutely murder, even moreso with humidity.
Please, be safe and stay hydrated!
For reference, 43 degrees celsius is roughly equivalent to 109.4 degrees fahrenheit. Thatâs bad.
Cosmic alignmentâŚ
Fuck all of the good luck posts out there. Reblog this to immaculate your vibes

today im thinking about the huge buff bread guy from kikis delivery service. highly underrated guy
Genuinely just a good man. Wife adopts teenage witch that needs a place to stay in the city? Sure. Even though you got a kid on the way? Thatâs fine. Cat too? Love cats.Â
My favorite moment with him is when he goes to get some prepped baking sheets and he does this fancy twirl with them in front of Jiji. Like, thereâs no other people in the room, he does this to impress a cat.
I donât think he ever says more than a whole word the entire movie, and I still love him more than most Disney princes based on this one moment alone.
And the part where he wanted to surprise Kiki by making that beautiful elaborate sign OUT OF BREAD to advertise her business and he was all anxious for her to get home and see it
But then when he sees her coming he gets all bashful and runs away đ
the most underrated thing about the ghibli movies is how deeply they are love stories to working people, to the small folk, to moments of love and kindness. its not just about magic, many movies are about magic and fairytales. Its not only about the people in the stories, but about stories in the people. And they are just loveable.
My friends who just got their first glasses: i need this highly expensive special cloth to wipe them, I also have this eyeglass cleaner from the same company, did you know you shouldn't use your t shirt unless it's specifically soft
Me who's worn glasses since middle school: *slaps soap onto the glasses and washes them in the sink then wipes them with toilet paper* what
Did I stutter
Mah men
Our ranks are getting stronger
Science nerd here: the reason dish soap works so goddamn well is because it's a surfactant. It specifically lifts and encases oil droplets and allows them to be washed away with water. Alcohol on the other hand is a solvent. It dissolves things, but it's not as good as a surfactant for removing oils. And it can strip lens coatings.
Dish soap is great. Esp when ur a fry cook.
Rub with dish soap, run them under water until soap is gone, blow them dry and they're as clean as brand new, absolutely nothing else does it. Special glasses cleaner and microfiber cloths are only good for emergencies when soap and water aren't around.

Leaving Thanks in Nature
Sometimes on my bone videos (Tiktok.com/@rollbones) witches say I need to leave stuff/sacrifices/gifts out in nature to thank the spirits for taking bones. They are polite enough so no shade, and I appreciate the thought and engagement! Honestly I love feedback. But let me answer that: no.Â
I only take about 1% of the bones I find, I mostly bone hunt for exploration and to make videos.Â
Leaving stuff out in nature is not actually good for nature.Â
Do whatever religion you want but be careful not to act as though everyone else follows it too.
Everyone harms nature all the time, including right now as I type on my computer full of exploitative materials, using electricity, so, Iâm not gonna overly criticize witches who leave stuff in nature as part of their ritual. But please do not act as though it a moral imperative to violate leave no trace.
If youâre leaving man-made items, theyâre trash. If youâre leaving natural items, they could be or contain invasive seeds, bugs, etc. If youâre leaving food, youâre artificially habituating wildlife to human food. No matter what you leave, you took from somewhere else, and are you gonna go thank the tree that grew the apple youâre leaving? The oil field that produced the plastic symbol youâre giving as a gift? Are you gonna be stuck in a loop of forever leaving gifts for the part of nature that you took something from to make another gift?Â
Anyway if that is part of your ritual do what you want, but if you want to do something less harmful to the nature you hope to honor might I recommend leaving intangible gifts instead.Â
