And I don’t mean just in terms of yanking shipper heartstrings (although lbr, they are excellent at that). I mean just in terms of how organically and healthily Chloe and Lucifer’s relationship has developed. Yes, there are wacky hijinks because Lucifer does not understand boundaries/has no sense of shame/etc, but it’s always been about respecting and liking the other person. About building them up as work partners, then friends, then soulmates, then tentatively trying to start a relationship, before bammo, The Drama Llama Cometh (and even that is done well). You know they’re soulmates not because the narrative told you in black and white (although it is a canon fact that they are) but because we’ve seen every step of it.

They trust each other. They believe in each other. They turn to each other. They touch each other (all the damn time). They bicker and push and challenge and frighten each other because of how much they feel for each other. They put the other first, constantly, and half the time when the other person has no clue that they have. They are total equals and when they are not, Chloe is in charge (lbr). Or Lucifer is moving heaven and earth for her, repeatedly. They never get tired of being around each other or seeing each other. Chloe calls Lucifer on his shit. He calls her on hers. She is the part of him that needs to be stuffed into a box and forced to play by the damn rules, and he is the part of her that can stand to let her hair down and enjoy life, literally. They are exactly two halves of a whole, stronger together than apart, as the girl tells Lucifer when he starts asking.

They are a team. In every sense of the word. Always have. Always will be.

And much like I have feelings about a show about the Devil being so innately good-hearted and hopeful and positive and redemptive and just kind, I have a hell of a lot (heh) of feelings about the Devil being one half of one of the best-written and healthiest and loving and real relationships on TV right now.
