This is purely based on my fantasies of Knarlie as parents so please excuse me as I add my favorite DPS ship into this response…. Please don’t hate me 🥲

— When I think of Knox as a father I see him taking on the role of the strict(ish) disciplinarian parent. He is not mean to his children in any way and wouldn’t ever dream of depriving them of fun experiences, but when the situation calls for it, he won’t hesitate to become the “rule enforcer.”

— Creates chore charts for the family, schedules doctor’s appointments, dance recitals, soccer games, etc. He has a whole calendar for every event and one of those magnetic whiteboards he keeps hanging on the fridge door (which mainly has chores written on it).

— Having his kids go to bed on time is very important to Knox. He knows how crucial sleep is for children when their brains are still developing, so that’s why he’ll make sure to have the little ones snuggled up in their beds by 9pm sharp. Weekends are different, though, because Knox will be more flexible if his kids wanna do something fun.

— Once they reach a certain age, Knox isn’t super strict about bedtime, and so instead of being on their ass about going to sleep, he gently encourages his kids to have their lights off by a reasonable hour. He wants them to make their own decisions, so if they decide to stay up late on a school night then that’s on them to deal with the consequences of their actions when they wake up.

— Gets up before Charlie in the morning because of his work schedule, so he’ll make the coffee for his husband and pack lunches for the kids. Also, Knox loves leaving little notes in their lunchboxes for them and continues to do it well into their teens (even if it embarrasses them).

— ❕❕Workaholic❕❕sometimes it gets to the point where he’ll stay at the office later than expected or take work home with him (which Knox has promised Charlie he’d never do on several occasions). Kinda creates some distance between him and his kids for a while because it feels like he doesn’t have time for them.

— 👆Don’t worry, things get better! But it takes some time for Knox to work his way out of old habits, especially when his own father did the same thing to him as a kid.

— Reads bedtime stories to his children every night. He and Charlie take turns doing funny voices for the characters, but Knox feels like his husband does a better job at it than he does.

— If requested by his kids, Knox will stay with them until they fall asleep. Although, there have been times where he’ll just end up passing out while laying next to them in their beds, or while sitting in the old nursery rocking chair that he uses during story time.

— LOVES PLAYING SOCCER WITH THEM!! It means so much to Knox when one of his kids comes up to him and asks if they can go outside and kick the soccer ball around.
