These brushes are the ones which I use the most :

RUSSESKETCH is for sketching

CYAPEN is for blending

And Crayon is (one of SAI’s default brushes ) for filling

Let’s begin with a messy sketch :

On a new layer, you need to use the “RUSSESKETCH brush”

and you don’t need to worry about drawing neatly!

Make a new layer to draw over the sketch.

(with a colour of your choice) Use CRAYON brush and make sure to not leave any gaps!

Then take the bucket and fill it in!

Then you will fuse your 2 layers together

Now its time to blend! Take the “CYAPEN brush”, then take another colour of your choice ,you can add even more details on your hair and try to give it an interesting shape!

TIPS

1: You can try many elemaps! It might give you some interesting textures to use!

2: Feel free to change the scale, density or texture and then try to experiment in even more interesting ways!

3: Don’t be shy! Try messing with the contrast! It might give an interesting colour to the hair!

4: It works for colour gradient!

5: If you want to make the texture and shape of your haircut better, don’t use the eraser! Keep your brush and click on the transparent button!

I’ve never really wrote a tutorial before so apologies if this is bad

1. okay first thing I do is pick three colors, a mid, dark, and light. I like to check the colors in greyscale to make sure there’s enough contrast between each one.

I then plop down a blob of whatever my middle tone color is.

2. next, I take my dark color and just sort of randomly place it around. I try to make sure there’s a good amount of both the mid and dark tones spread throughout. I personally like to keep it kinda messy. I also have pen pressure on for both brush size and opacity, so I can have some blending action going on.

3. for the next step I do the exact same thing as before, except with the light color.

4. aight this is where we start adding details. see how you just have a bunch of colors and edges where two colors meet? use the eyedropper and go to an area where two colors meet, eyedrop a color, and then use that color to draw in your grass blades. I do this at every point where colors meet. should note I personally like to use a square brush, but you can really just use anything.

5. you can technically stop at the last step if you’re going for a more simple look, but to add more details I go to the “empty” areas of solid color and just draw in random strokes using a color nearby. it’s just a way to fill up the empty space.

6. basically more of the same idea of eyedropping and drawing. for more variety so things look interesting, I like to add random plant shapes.

7. and so the grass doesn’t look too plain, I add random dots of color and pretend it’s flowers and stuff.

Apparently they put this in our mailbox and never let us know it was there. This was put there FIVE DAYS ago. We hardly check the mail because we don’t get anything.

I have ONE DAY to get $2000. One day to get money I don’t have to keep my home for my three dogs, and my disabled mother. I was hoping to just save up and have it paid by Christmas but that isn’t an option.

You sure have seen this post. It has spread like wildfire over the past few days so I doubt there is any artist out there who hasn’t seen it. But even if you didn’t, you should read on because I’m about to tell you a handy little thing that can help you to protect your art from such assholes as the anon who submitted this bullcrap, as well as art thieves in general.

The magic word is Metadata.

Metadata is like an invisible signature that is embeded into a file. It can contain all kinds of information, like Title, date, keywords for online seach engines, and copyright information. And the best thing is, since this information is “hidden” in the code of your picture, it’s hard to remove it.

There is a nice basic tutorial on how to add Metadata, or “additional file information” to your images in photoshop. It’s really, really easy so check it out!
