We all love each of the Starkids a lot, and it's not a competition. But I'm curious because you've been in the fandom a while and you make awesome fan content (thank you). Who do you think, overall, is the most popular Starkid among fans? Why?

of course i first wanna clarify that all starkids are amazing, special, unique and bring exceptional talent to every project. i don’t think there’s any use in comparing them in a “who is more talented?” way, but everyone has preferences and that’s okay as long as we don’t use them so bring other artists down.

from personal experience, i think lauren is definitely a (if not the) fan favorite. i’d say she’s usually the memeber fans gravitate towards when they first join the fandom; her roles and her acting stand out and she is really compelling. she’s great at commanding attention and keeping the audience invested in the story. i mean, she was draco AND zazzalil AND emma, some of the most iconic roles in the most known starkid musicals. she is 100% iconic and one of the most known starkids even among people who aren’t really into starkid. and she’s really pretty, ya know!

this is how i view it from my personal experience, i feel like we all had a lauren phase at some point and she holds a very special place in everyone’s fandom experience.

let’s talk about starkid. no. seriously.

okay if you don’t know, starkid productions has donated 20k to helping BLM organizations and this week is asking us, the fans to send in donations they’ll match. this may or may not include individual donations being given by every member, but this is really important. especially because we all know that most of them can’t work right now and all of them have the same financial limitations and abilities as we do.

this isn’t like a bunch of hollywood people donating spare money, there IS no spare money, but what can be given is still being offered. don’t sleep on that. that’s amazing and i’m grateful to know these people exist, so let’s not let them down. we got starkid homecoming to happen, we can rally around if all of us give something. i wish i could personally, but if you or something you know can, PLEASE, spread the word!

like a year ago i twisted a short piece of wire and i thought i looked like a little stick man with no arms and though: “i must keep him”, and i did. a friend even took the wire once, untwisted it when i wasn’t looking, and when i saw i made her twist it again wtf

my brother once took the aluminuim lid off a yogurt or something and one piece tore from the rest, he pointed out that it looked like a bridge and i shit you not i still have it !!

but, in one more effort to stop this from spreading, please do read this. it’s partnof an email exchange between me and corey regarding one of my videos that had been taken down for a copyright strike. he once again explains why straight reposting is not allowed, and i just hope the channel’s owner can finally understand why those videos need to stop.

Be mindful of the content you’re putting on your social media accounts. Stop retweeting/reposting violent images and videos of black people dying. Know that content like this, even with trigger warnings included, can be very emotionally disturbing/distressing and yes, even traumatic, for black people navigating the internet right now.

Report any images and videos you see where protestors’ faces are visible/unblurred, particularly in content surrounding the lootings. Don’t retweet or repost these images and videos. This can be a death sentence.

DONATE, PARTICULARLY TO MINNESOTA-BASED BLACK YOUTH MOVEMENTS / MUTUAL AID FUNDS WHO ARE DOING WORK ON THE GROUND. FOLLOW/BOOST IF YOU CAN’T.

I’m gonna add the Lake Street Council onto here. For those who don’t know, Lake Street is the street where a lot of businesses have been vandalized/looted/burned, and although the media’s been paying a lot of attention to the chain stores that have been affected, there’s a ton of small, independent, largely immigrant-owned businesses along that street. They were already suffering due to the pandemic, and replacing broken windows, cleaning off graffiti, and/or dealing with damage from water or fire or looters is an expense that a lot of them will have a hard time coming back from.

I can vouch for the Lake Street Council being a big supporter of those independent businesses (and not, say, Target, which will be fine, jeez, they’ve been making money hand over foot during this pandemic).
