Light warmth ignited around her cheeks as she approached her husband, his smile ā that incredible smile ā came out whenever he laid eyes on her. When he came home from the gym, when she reappeared after getting lost in her art for hours, when they woke up in the morning, heād smile and she wasnāt sure how she got so lucky to find a man who was just so elated by her presence. She, of course, returned the sentiment. There was nothing that would ever make her happier than her husband; it was just a thought that came to her mind at this time of year. She was lucky. So incredibly lucky. After thoroughly decking their home in Christmas cheer, she couldnāt help but be more affectionate than her usual. The mistletoe was certainly helping, but she was sure that it was certainly not needed to have gotten him this kind of greeting at the door. She shifted slightly away from him as he surveyed the room, her hands sliding down his torso and resting at his waist while he took everything in. His approval brought yet another grin to her face, nodding, āI thought so, Iām pretty proud of my accomplishments especially in such a short amount of time.ā Her eyes brightened at the compliment, moving her attention back to his blues and away from the decorations, āI am, arenāt I?ā
The cheeky laugh dissipated quickly to a warm, loving expression at the sight of the flowers. So lucky. He never had to do these little gestures, never had a reason to do something simple and amazing yet he did them so well. Trish loved the romantic side of him, and if he brought it out every single day she would never get tired of it ā though she did love that he just surprised her with it on a fairly regular basis. She took the bouquet from his hand and admired them, leaning forward to catch the light scent wafting. āThese are incredible, thank you,ā she stated and pressed a kiss to his cheek. Trish made quick work of placing them into a vase and setting it safely on the counter so she could admire it. Turning, she saw Hades taking a closer look at the decorations, at the picture sheād spent some extra time with earlier. That image was gorgeous, almost as if it belonged in a snowglobe. āThatās the most loving way anyone has ever told me that Iāve kicked ass,ā she grinned, nuzzling her nose against the crook of his neck before he pulled away from her. Flopping down on the couch, she pulled her legs underneath her and spread the throw blanket across her lap ā already getting comfortable for what she assumed would be a very cuddly night in. She couldnāt see why not either, they had a roaring fire and each other and for some reason the animals seemed to be relaxing elsewhere and not pestering their humans.
āYes please,ā she called, situating herself more comfortably on the cushion before twisting to face him slightly. One of these days, sheād get caught watching him do simple tasks like make hot cocoa, and she wouldnāt mind in the least. He was enthralling, picturesque. And she truly did love just watching him work, with anything. There was a time sheād come across him when heād been so angry he couldnāt see straight and all she could do was watch him punch a brick wall, and even then she thoroughly appreciated everything he was. That memory compared to watching him now, she could honestly say that she loved every bit of him. Her train of thought derailed at his question, a soft smile growing on her lips, āIf this has anything to do with second guessing a present, you know Iāll love anything you give me. But if itās purely educational, Iā¦actually donāt have anything specific in mind.ā Trish didnāt have a list of any type this year for Christmas, as far as she was concerned ā she had everything she could want at this moment. She was married to her best friend, they had their little furry family, she wasnāt at a loss for inspiration for her art. Thinking on it for a moment longer, she settled back in her comfortable position on the couch, āIf anything, more memories would be amazing ā and before you tell me that sounds ridiculous, hear me out. Take that jacket I got you, for example. Yes, itās warm and dead sexy on you but it also allowed for you to come with me to that light show and get that picture taken of us. I mean, weāve always loved creating our own worlds anyway. Why not provide a reason to have more?ā Glancing back over at him, she grinned as she mirrored his question, āWhat about you? Anything specific?ā
