jamie had been having an utterly marvelous time tonight! everything was going to plan as they headed into the evening. she knew now there would more wine than art theory and in the next couple of hours, more dancing and smeared lipstick. yes, everything was perfect. jamie noticed iris sharp making her way through the exhibits, she hadn't run into her yet tonight. as ever, she pulled on her most charming smile and gave her a wave.
"iris, darling! how on earth are you? no rest for the wicked i see... can i get you anything at all?"
she fought the bile rising in her throat at being called darline by jamie park. she fought even harder to avoid rolling her eyes or making a face of annoyance. "park" she nodded "i'm fine as one assistant can be. the day ravenwoods rest i'll be out of a job, and we all know that day isn't coming" roman's antics alone would keep her employed for the rest of her life. "no, i'm on the clock" she looked around to see if there was an escape route for this conversation but there was no luck when it was the party host talking to you "i suppose it's custom to ask how you are"
frankie had been staring up at this one painting and feeling like maybe he was getting it. maybe. he had listened to jamie speak so eloquently about one of the collections she'd curated and it had been captivating, it had. but now frankie was wondering if he'd just been captivated by her. 'i don't get it' he thought at the same time he heard her voice say 'so ugly'.
he turned, almost laughing at the comment. "running to put out a fire, iris?"
"is there ever a ranvenwood without some sort of fire?" the clear answer was no on that front. the ravenwoods were as dramatic as they were beautiful to look at. "roni's window shopping waiters, rebecca is being picture perfect and roman is well...being roman. i can't complain, it keeps me employed"
the gallery event was in full swing and it was fine. if it were anyone else hosting, iris would be less resistant to it's assault on the senses but this was jamie park's event. no matter, iris was here for her boss, rebecca ravenwood (and her family by extension).
if she was asked, she wasn't sure what anyone saw in the whole thing. the event was tacky in her eyes. one lavish stomach churning detail after another, iris walked through the event to check in with the ravenwoods, her face making no effort to hide how unimpressed she was by the spectacle.

Dawson had a good time tonight, he enjoyed any chance to hang out with Jamie. They had a good time, but she had other guests to attend to, and he was sure he would see her again before she left. He had made some small talk, now he was wandering around the party.
Dawson smirked as he heard Iris. He wasn't sure what her issue was, it seemed this wasn't her scene. He almost felt bad for her being stuck here because her boss was there.
"This isn't my favorite collection by Peter either."
she rolled her eyes at the comment from dawson. the guy hadn't exactly done anything wrong but iris being iris stuck at a jamie park party meant that she was in no mood for nonsense.
"the collection and the party aren't good. both insist upon themselves"
lili saw iris sharp coming from her peripherals, face a storm of judgement. she knew rebecca ravenwood's assistant was formidable (which only made her think of her sister and how she should have known she was jamie's assistant at all). at her comment, she turned and raised an eyebrow.
"that doesn't sound like you're appreciating the party, iris."
iris wasn't the type of woman to ever sugarcoat something. if she didn't like someone, it was made known. "why would i appreciate this ghastly get together?" she groaned "if actors want to inflate their egos then go do that on set, don't make the rest of us suffer through this farce"

robbie had just finished up meeting with his client, his car booked for his next stop. he'd always had an appreciation for beautiful things but they were rarely on a canvas. instead of the exhibitions, he found his eyes scanning the room at the people. everyone was so charmed - and who wouldn't be, truly - by jamie park. he was no exception. that only made it all the more curious when he noticed her walking through, the expression on her face anything but charmed.
"you might find the champagne will help with that."
stupid artwork. stupid decor. stupid everything. she couldn't wait to get out of here. it was like spending an evening in jamie parks imagination, and iris' own personal hell. she moved into another circle of dante's hell when a baizen approached her. iris stopped when he started talking, his voice a dull droning in her ears
"if that's what you want to call champagne then have at it"
